I believe there are three major JB ROMs development going on as far as I can see. Some JB ROMs have more issue than others, some does not. And we are so grateful for these developers taking time and giving us these ROMs. and we should encourage them more, so please donate and say THANK YOU.:good:
and now, I am dead curious who's using which JB ROMs and their feedback, what they run into, issues, suggestions etc.
if anyone gives their feedback here, this would be wonderful for average users who's looking around and trying to figure out each of these JB ROMs.
Looking forward your valuable responses!

First of all, the first link is an ICS ROM not JellyBean.
With that out of the way, both CM10 and AOSP are running the same kernel so you will not see much difference in performance. CM10 with have more features then AOSP will have because AOSP is a "pure" experience from Google source.
It depends on your preference but I like CM10.

Rear Camera works at the moment for AOSP and CM10. That is why I said the kernel is the same. Right now, pershoot is working on getting CM9 to RC status and then will be working on fixing the front camera and other fixes.

I'm using CM10 and facing problem like original 3.1 ROM that I let it charging over night and the tab dead could not re-star again .I have to open the back cover removed the batteries socket and put it back and can star again ,is happened to me 3 times .
And other problem is Google play not working properly many time I put the install button but it not response .Almost other works perfect.
I'm using CM 10 and have been for about a week now.
Very nice!
My thanks to all the geniuses that made that possible!
I am, however, considering replacing it with a ROM that allows Flash. Unless I can find a way to get Flash working. Amazon Instant Video runs on Flash, which makes me wonder what they are going to do when the Fire upgrades to JB...
I don't use the tablet much, as my GNexus (also running CM10) does all I really need to do, but I do use it for videos and games.
Can I get any recommendations on whether I should switch to something like Galaxy Task, or just go back to ICS?

I downloaded Flash directly from Adobe's site as they pulled out from Play store. I was looking for it, and then read couple of posts, and they said download it directly from adobe. I am attaching Flash apk file here that worked for AOSP ROM that I have on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi (GT-P7510). It is a bit laggy, but it works. Chrome browser has some issue with it too, in fact on Google Nexus 7 has the same thing, so believe it is generic Google JB thingy.
I flashed with AOSP ROM on my galaxy tab (GT-P7510 wifi), and have been using for several days. I was planing to go back to original stick ICS (USA), but decided to not to because it made my galaxy tab (GT-P7510 wifi) very fast, and buttery smooth! it is almost feel like I got 'new' tablet. Even my wife, when she picked my tablet first time after I flashed, said Wow what did you do!? (she has new iPad!). Anyway, so far did not notice any issue (other than we all know front cam does not work), but again I have not done any heavy testing or heavy games yet on it.
I picked AOSP ROM over CM10, because I like pure Google JB experience (like my new Google Nexus 7!). I am closely monitoring the developer threads for any new update. I know they demonstrated working front cam, but it seems like it breaks other part, so I am sure it will be get fixed soon
I've been using CM10 since MapleSyrup started it and continued with pershoot taking over. I really like how nicely it works and the good outweighs the few times for the wifi dropping out or the sod after charging. pretty easy/fast to just reboot so it doesn't matter too much.

Well, I have HP Touchpad with WebOS and Android CM9 installed. Even if there are several issues on TouchPad using CM9, I can still live with it, after all I switch from WebOS to Android to play some games, so considering simple reboot or turn on airplane mode on and off to fix Wifi dropping issue is not really deal breaker for me. It is the JB's smoothness and how fast it is what really attracts me the most.
I'm a new Android user and loving all of the options out there in terms of Kernels, ROMS, etc, but I find myself being overwhelmed with all of the options out there. So far I'm pretty set with running franco Kernel (running r20 right now), but I find myself always wanting to try out new ROMs, and I'm hoping that doing all of this switching around isn't going to mess up my device but I just can't nail myself down to a ROM that I'm set with.
I had been running CM 10.1 nightlies, but just recently a couple of days ago I jumped over to MiNCO because of the support for franco Kernel.
Now I find myself looking at the Xylon ROM but am worried that jumping around from ROM to ROM is going to mess with my device.
What ROMs are you guys using, and why are you using them? I find myself that the most important factors for me are battery life/performance, quick toggles, and the power menu.
I havean EVO 4G LTE .. ever since i got the o.g. EVO I was hooked on them. But I use a stock with goodies Rom by flex. Its a great rom has everything I need and its super smooth

I generally stick to CyanogenMod. I keep an eye on the changelog and flash new nightlies when things I want are merged.
I've messed with AOKP and MIUI in the past but they're not really for me.
Cyanogenmod 10.1 Jellybro because it has everything I need and is clean code (no dirty hacks). Used to be a fan of aokp but too many dirty code and unicorns for me.

cm is my favourite rom, but thats not really the truth what you say. in order to stuff in tons of devices that normally do not run aosp they have to stretch the base wide open with hacks. this is the hackiest rom in the android scene and it must be, otherwise people out there wouldnt know what android is. thats why cm traditionally never had so much traction on this plattform than on others, simply because uncompromised aosp is leaner and more optimized for android itself and the nexus plattform. on a legacy device i'd always suggest cm, thats obvious. on nexus cm may not be the obvious best choice anymore, because the others are likely faster, more stable, have less daily fallouts, and in some cases have more features, like aokp, if youre the kind of guy that likes that sort of thing. if i flash cm here, its because i like their creative/inventive spirit and would like to support the project overall. flashing is easy though, trying out a couple of em isn't that much of a problem. (-:
Paranoid android. Not even considered any other ROM since I flashed this one. Its just so amazing. I couldn't live without all the colours that change per app, and all the other features it has.
I suggest trying it out now.

With my previous device, s2, I changed a lot, from RR to AOKP to CM etc etc, I like them all.
On my N4, I'm using stock until a really good-good ROM comes out, I don't have any problems, other than battery, so I don't panic, YET.

I've been on xylon w matrix kernel

For me its PA rom....Ive tried every rom because I love flashing lol....but this is an honest opinion from experience....I know best rom talk is not allowed but the best to me is PA rom because of one simple reason....other than stock...its perfect!!!! And with that being said I have No issues with it very stable..super fast...alot of features man I can go on and on....if you want your N4 running perfect go PA...there are some other good roms because we have alot of elite devs in here and im sure more are on the way...but to me theres nothing better than super wiping your phone just to make sure its really clean and flashing PA...all you can say is wow after that lol......and now I change roms everytime Moles and his crew update PA....and also flash Franco kernel with this and your N4 will be excellent....
I'm currently on liquidsmooth. I've tried rasbeanjelly, Xylon, codefirex, CM 10.1, MinCo and a few others I can't remember. All were great. I'm really like liquidsmooth. It's a great balance. I flash, sometimes 3 times a day.
Setup: Code FireX w/ Faux beta
CFX is the first non-stock ROM that I decided to try because it uses the Linaro chain and I was pretty curious about the speed.
Long story short, CFX's performance is apparent as soon as you start using the device, it had much needed improvements.
Oh, and did I mention the CFX settings? Synegye's special built in mods allow you to improve your experience even more. For instance I decided to use the 6 signal Wi-Fi/Network, center clock, smaller Nav Bar, as well as dual view. This package, when combined with Faux's kernel presents you with an unbeatable experience on the best Android experience to date.

That sounds pretty intriguing, I think I just found the next ROM that is going to get flashed on my N4.
Nice discussion. Very interesting.
via Google Nexus 4
For reliability and just the right amount of mods for me it's been CM on any device I've owned 90% of the time. It's the least buggy for me, although of course, there will be the occasional bug along the way. Works beautifully on the the Nexus, although some mods may take longer to merge as other devices have to be taken into account.
Can't think of any "hacks" needed for CM to run on any Nexus, although much hackage needed for it to run on Samsung branded phones, and any other manufacturer that doesn't ship with AOSP and may be slow to release source. The kernel for the GN was less than impressive, but the N4 kernel is great.
Running stock rooted. Going CM 10.1 as soon as I get back home from vacation.

Stock with Franco kernel and you got the most stable combo ever seriously though. Feels very snappy while battery is great but also is really stable.

I am flashing between a number of Roms daily. Change between cm 10.1, aokp, paranoid, slimbean, codefire. Currently on paranoid b9. I love the options we have on the nexus. It would be a lot less hassle for me if I don't have to restore my texts everytime. Still I pretty much flash a different ROM daily

+1 for stock with Franco.
No stable (official stable) roms out there yet that I like, and since n4 is my primary phone, I need my stability :/.
Probably will switch over to AOKP milestone or CM stable.
On past devices I've run with CyanogenMod (any variation), but on the Nexus line I tend to prefer staying with a stock ROM and a custom kernel (though I'm stock presently) for the sake of cleanliness. CyanogenMod is great, it's built by trusted developers, and all around well known for their great reputation. On the flip side, I tend to stay stock because I need to help other people out often enough that I start to forget which features were added by the CM team and which come with Android itself.
What is the most stable 4.2.2 AOKP ROM for this device? Also would you recommend that or CM10.1 RC5 for stability and features?
Could you please write we what is that AOKP?

Personally the most recent AOKP are pretty stable. You can use whatever you want based on your needs/wants in a ROM. If you find a rom that doesn't fit your expectations you should switch to another one. Play around with them.

AOKP = Android Open Kang Project. Its a rom with lots of customization options.
All Nexus roms are pretty stable for the most part and bugs won't affect your day-to-day usage.
I personally prefer Carbon. It has goodies from AOKP, CM, Paranoid Android's "Halo"
If you think AOKP has a lot of customizations, check Carbon you'll be blown away.
I agree about using Carbon We really have all the best customization options of AOKP, PA, CM and Slim roms all in a small package and that is near stock looking and runs SPEEDY and smooth.
AOKP Milestone 1 is surprisingly stable. The only problem I've found is the Recents Menu is somewhat buggy, that may or may not be a deal-breaker for you.
I'm using the latest nightly and it's been working flawless for me. Normally I stick with mile stones, but it had a 2g toggle bug in it that drive me crazy.

Also, how about a rom that could be used as a daily driver for the wife?
Carbon Rom. If its your wife's phone, chances are she doesn't know how to root and do all that fancy stuff.
Just leave her phone stock unless you want to claim responsibility for anything that she does.
The one in my signature is nice and simple. But I'm with the guy above, if she doesn't know much about technology the stock AOSP rom already on there is already pretty clean and free of bloat.
Course on the other hand, my mom isn't too technical and she's running SlimBean 6 on her Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" just fine. (plus I got it all pink-color themed including the navigation buttons the way she likes it, lol).
CM 10.1 should be everyone's first ROM imho. It's stable and adds more features on the default ROM

So is every other rom for the Nexus 4. A unstable rom for N4 is very rare because N4 is a aosp device and has all the binaries available whereas non nexus devices do not.
Make yourself a open book and don't limit yourself to only Cm. Cm o's very strict on their guidelines and don't want to add a bunch of features compared to their old days like Cm7.
Try carbon. It has features all from cm, aokp, paranoid android, etc while being a very speedy rom. You're missing out on a lot of extra goodies such as navigation bar height, halo etc.

i have a J700T. how hard is it to learn how to port and develop cm.
The main issues that we'll have will most likely be camera and Bluetooth. The exynos processor doesn't seem to jive well with CM.
Believe me, I would like CM as well but unfortunately it will be somewhat buggy and this particular device isn't "bringing tha boys to the yard" as far as development goes. Don't get me wrong, I think this device is pretty awesome and had some high hopes for development but alas, we are stuck with tweaked touchwhiz roms. Cm 14 was even ported but lots of bugs like bluetooth, display, audio, etc.
Not trying to crush any dreams here, just being realistic.
However, once a Nougat touchwhiz rom leaks (should be in a few weeks) a port is possible. A good note 7 port (no bugs) would be awesome.

The Bluetooth is a problem to me I rarely use it. And the camera cant we just find a camera app from the play store that will be capable with the cm based Rom. But I'm not complaining at all I'm just putting my w sense in.
for some, no bluetooth is a big issue. the camera issue is (maybe) easy to workaround because of other camera apps, unless it's the system (not the camera app) that's causing the camera not to work.
