Quarx cm10.1 wakelocks - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I've been trying the lastest releases of quarx cm10.1. All of them work great on my phone excepts for the battery life.
I get all kind of wakelocks, rx_wake from wifi, download manager, google talk endpoint, etc... The phone sleeps less than the %40 of the time.
I've tried with all the possible solutions I found: disabling location, turning wi-fi off, uninstalling download manager.. wiping, reinstalling, installing 10 different gapps, etc..
Is there something I am missing?
Personally, a phone that last less than 2 days is not usable. I hate to find it turned off if I forgot to charge it one night. And what happens with the emergencies?
Thanks!

Start from scratch (sbf flash, root and then install). Even if you did it already, do it again.

I've tried a lot of times, with different sbf and quarx builds.
Also, I'm not the only one with the problem I think.

Yes, these wakelocks are common. Check out this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676 - main guide

Usually I use it on calls, messages, a little bit of gaming. With this it lasts 2 days easily, with a screen time of around 3 hrs (my battery is now 1.5 yrs old).
When I use my phone a lot for gaming and Whatsapp, it lasts about 10 hrs with Wi-Fi always on. If left alone it can stand by for a maximum of 6 days.

Yup.

Ok, I tried again, with the nordic defy+ rom, from scratch.
It seems to work well, excepts for the wifi wakelock.
Better WiFi On/Off helps a lot.

I finally topped the 2 Day mark with my 2.3.3 juwe rom. I had problems before to reach at least the 24 hours, sometimes i had to refuel during the Day,caused by the massive drauf bug which keeps android awake. Hey i new to this, i have a UK I9000, that i recently updated to JVO on kies. I previously had my phone replaced by samsung due to battery issues. but my new one seems to be the same. I can just about get 14 hours or so of use out of it. I have brightness set to outo, auto sync on, have an gmail and an exchange email, also am on 2g/3g auto. i am unsure if i should flash to custom? i keep reading that people are getting 2days out of their battery. i would say that not a heavy user!! could do with some advide! thanks
If I am always in a wifi area I probs get about 4 or 5 days. If though 3G is on i've known it to go from 100% to phyically off within a matter of hours even when not actually using the phone.
Sorry but i am amazed from these screenshot.
I am difficulty arriving to the night.
My phone is having the standard battery, with two google accounts setted on sync and i really use it FEW... 3 hours of display? A dream.
I am on 2.2 because it is branded and i really wonder how u can achieve 2 days. 5 days with moderate use i would shot my head to achieve it.
Someone can give me a good advice?
Also, how are u taking the battery history?
Considering display and mobile data are the biggest battery drainers, we more detailed information than just time on. Give me display usage.

I have absolutely no battery drain, 10% lose after 1 day (with playing calls etc included), however I've applied my little solution, deleting all the suspicious system apks
Definitely no battery drain here. Auto-rotation and GPS is ON all the time, played orientation-based and 3d-intensive games multiple times, used Google Maps (just had a nice tour today here in Japan )
By the way I haven't charged yet since I installed this rom 2 days ago.
samsung finally solved it or you did not have the problem before?
same for me right now i am at 1day and 8 hours with wifi on the whole time 3 hrs of calling and texting ,few games, radio etc i always have had the battery drain in the previous roms so this one is looking good
No drain here. With one charge phone now survives two days of intense use.
(stock JVP, dark core kernel, stock bloatware removed, ext4 lagfix)
I surely had it before that is why I started this infamous thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039696
No unusual drain here.
In fact this is the best battery efficiency out of any rom (except stock 2.1) I've used. Down to 64% after 24hrs with pretty low usage, which is subjective. To put it in perspective I rarely got past 24hours with typical usage on any 2.2 rom.

Well, it depends on personal preference , but for me bloatware is software that I will never use, or use someting else instead of the preinstalled one, for exaple : layer, mini diary, write and go, thinkfree office, stock audio player, swype, stock gallery app, samsung apps, touchwiz+widgets, live wallpapers, dual clock, etc.
Of course you need root, and titanium backup to remove, or you can delete the apk`s manually with root explorer, just don`t remove crucial stuff. You can search on google, or in the forums for a list of files, that can be safely removed.

Amazing batterylife (5d 21h) with Sam's S.U.R.F.A.C.E. JVU v9.01 ROM!!!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that my battery was 5 days and 21 hours has endured, with Sam's SURFACE JVU v9.01 ROM! I called at that time about 1h, 50 SMS sent, angry birds played 1h, 30min data connection, and 30min with wifi connected. I find this simply amazing and really did not know that this was possible. Apparently so, because Sam's ROM course! So thank you Sam!
Well, on standby with not apps running and wifi off, my phone drains about 20% a day at most if I don't use it. 1 hour of calling, 1hour of angry birds and some surfing would usually also drain about 30%. So in general, with such minimal use, the battery would last about 3-4 days anyway.
You convince me to test this ROM!

It's true. Roms which drain battery are 2.3.3-based roms, as well as poorly made custom roms. Most other roms, especially the froyo 2.2.1 ones, have very good battery life. I'm not saying that the rom you're using isn't good, but I'd simply like to point out that battery life with your amount of usage is gonna be long with most roms anyway.
dont want to troll here, but if standby usages are higher than screen that means you havent used it that much, so it's not due to the rom but due to almost no usage. 3-4 hours of screen turned on a week is almost no use of this phone.
(screen usage uses most battery and it lasts for about 4 hours of screen, it doesnt matter if it is used in a few hours or you dont use your phone and it cumulates 4 hours of screen use during a week)

Never managed to get more than 2 days out of my phone so far on any rom but I use it alot and I am pleased with it's battery life

Nothing special at all, u did not use data, that way it works like a Nokia dumbphone. Also u did not turn on screen very often, if u try this with a froyo rom and speedmod kernel you would even get more out of one charge.

Not weird. When unused, battery lasts for a long time even on stock roms - I'm on stock JVT. With the help of a properly configured juice defender or tasker, you can easily get draining paces this low even by using the phone a bit more. Nonetheless I'm more than confident that Sam's JVU provides even more time to battery than stock roms.
to be honest, I'm hardly far from a power source that long though.

Did I just break a record?

I had no intention to push battery to its limits. I had busy days and forgot to recharge it. I was quite surprised when I saw for how long it runs on one single charge (see attached screenshot). I answered my calls regularly, made some calls, checked email a few times a day, and played no games.

I need stable blurred ROM with full functionality, so Nottachtrix seemed like a good choice. I use it for about 6 months and I'm convinced it's still the most stable among blurred ones.
I have 197 apps under "Downloaded" section.
I use only two apps for slight tweaking regarding performance. I disable apps I don't need to run on startup with Autostarts and I automated it with Tasker to switch to airplane mode between 23:00 and 8:00. That's all. No over/under-clocking/volting.

Kernel faux on stock 2.3.6 made that magic possible.

I recommend you to install BetterBatteryStats from Play or look here. Just take a little time to study how it works, read help/manual. Battery life feedback

I saw quite a few topics comparing consumption with various kernels, setups, roms. But most of those are done by one person using one phone with different setup. Even if there would be variety of people, the information would be lost in discussions. Here I want you to post structured informations about your achievements in battery usage. Please post in following structure:
1. Battery life hours;
2. Screen on time hours;
3. Battery type;
4. Rom
5. Kernel
6. Screenshots to prove 1 and 3
7. Special notes, like consumption in offscreen time, and during screen on or some special undervolting or anything else.
My desire to see world records in battery life discipline.
My personal records were done on gingerbread rom with don't remember what kernel and conditions but believe it was tegracs kernel.

I just hit a new record. I'm on the Bell (Canadian Phone Company) official 4.1.2. I use greenify to hibernate things like facebook and keep them from running the background. I used titanium backup to disable a host of system programs that I don't use/need. I also have setCPU running at its default settings.
Last week I made it to 7d 54m 24s
I forgot to look how much screen time I used but it made up 25% of my power consumption. When I'm at home or at work I have access to a PC so I only use the phone for texting, checking the odd email etc....
If I'm out of town I might get 2 days on it. My average is 4-5 days. I must not have used it too much last week.
I also have an Anker battery in it (as my originals charge time started to decrease). It seems to do rather well (maybe even slightly better than the stock battery).

I didn't save the main screen, I think those shots were made about 3 years ago. And you just have to trust me that that 11 hours were true. BUT there's one trick here. My phone had an issue at that time, it couldn't go to sleep. I put it by my bed and closed flipper over the screen. When I woke up, I picked up the phone and noticed that screen was just a little darkened but not off. I looked at screen time and was shocked, made that screen... The rest you know. so, you right that this result is out of range.

I went 7 days before I had to charge it. There's no way that was 7 days of screen time.. lol. Maybe a few hours of screen time in there. If you click on the thumbnail it will go to imagebam and make it bigger.
I never thought to screenshot the detailed screen page where it says the hours you used. I just took that snapshot because I'd never made it to 7 days before (even though I rode it all the way down to 1% power). I also use an Anker battery in it, which seems to give it a smidge more power (even though the physical battery is the same size as a stock battery).

No, problem. That's also a result to boast.

I got 2hrs of screen on time yesterday wid android 2.3.6 wid battery being 50% (I flashed for checking this only )
All time I was using net on edge..
So I assume 5 hrs screen on time wid gb is not a big deal...
Now I reverted back to stock 4.1.2 coz there are several features I missed in it..

Understand you, I also had tremendous results on gb (see first post) but everything is changing nowadays, and after sitting on jb for a while you can't go back even if you want.

Gathering +6 hours out of 2 days average usage was quite normal....
Now on 4.3 I'm happy if I scratch 5 hours...
Always Samsung's stock 2000 mah battery.
One day i was sick at home and I got more then 8 hours screen on time but within 9 hours...

I used to do pretty good on stock ICS 4.0.4 roms. They never released 4.0.4 in Canada so I think I used a rom from the UK. It was really light on battery consumption. Way better than gingerbread, 4.0.3 or 4.1.2.
The only downside was wiping the phone with 4.0.4 using certain programs would brick the phone so I think alot of people avoid the 4.0.4 roms (and probably why the didn't finish spreading globally).
Wow.
You guys have some good results there.
But 7 days I can hardly believe.
Cheers.
