Hi, im sorry if my post does sounds stupid or silly.
I'm curious, is it possible to port Camera Apk in Galaxy NX / Galaxy S4 Zoom / Galaxy Camera to Galaxy S4 ? Especially the Expert Mode ?
I know there are 3rd party Apps such as Camera FV-5 that can imitate Expert Mode on S4 Zoom / NX, but i'm wondering is there any way to do it with the S4 Zoom / NX cam Apk to "natively" control Shutter Speed, etc via the S4 Stock Camera ?

S4 has 13mp and s4 zoom has 16mp camera... That's 1 difference that I know of.

The Sony Honami (20mp) camera apk was also ported to Xperia Z (13Mp), so it might be possible...

Yeah might be possible if anyone on xda decides to get one and pull the apk.
Some features of that app won't work.

Impossible, SGS camera app uses touchwiz framework ! As the dialer, the launcher, and all others sammy's apps...
the camera app in the samsung galaxy S is way better than the stock camera app I am definitely +1'ing this.

I have used https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hbG1hbGVuY2UuaGRyIl0. a couple times. I plan on testing with it more because quite frankly I find the stock app on my M919 variant to be far too noisy in low light, the pictures look like utter trash.

Take a look at the themes and apps section and you'll find the bootanimation and sun beam live wallpaper.

I'm not sure if someone posted the .apk , but it's gonna need some modifications i guess, also keep in mind that the 2 apks on the gs4 and one are different. On the htc one the maximum megapixel in camera settings is 4, while on gs4 is 13. Also the htc one has an hdr option for the front camera while the gs4 doesn't have that option.
So i guess the apk from the gs4 would suit the nexus 4 better (with removing the 13mpx option). Also we should check if the gallery app is updated.

I was curious if anyone knows if it's possible to rip just the camera app from a G2 ROM for use in a GS4 running a GE ROM?
I love the Optimus G Pro and the G2's camera. It has ZERO shutter lag, something which I cannot find in any other camera app so far. I used to use the G Pro for work and loved how fast the camera was. Which is crucial when you are trying to take pictures of your child.
So I was wonder if the camera app in the G2 is deeply intertwined in the OS like the camera on the GS4 is, or if all I would need would be the camera APK file.

The recently published new camera app from Google has some nice features. Unfortunately, as many other camera apps for the G2, this camera app lacks in picture quality in comparison to the G2 stock camera and its derivatives...
I'm not a developer but I thought that maybe it would be possible to modify the GoogleCamere to shoot better pictures using our beloved G2...
What do you think?

Why not just use one of the posted g2 camera mods? They're already optimized.

Because,
1. most of them are only updated for stock roms and
2. the don't have those nice new functions like focus control, that the new GoogleCamera offers...
The camera mods change more than just the camera app.
I find the Google camera just as good as far as basic photo quality.

Most of the optimisations in the camera of OEM phones is in the app, but many are in the Kernel. Without both you will never get the same level of quality.
Porting them over is just not possible since its not just about settings, but also drivers and often you will not get the benefit of the drivers without the OEM app.
I wouldn't mind only a mod to select 16:9 for pictures instead of only 4:3 formats.
