I have used https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hbG1hbGVuY2UuaGRyIl0. a couple times. I plan on testing with it more because quite frankly I find the stock app on my M919 variant to be far too noisy in low light, the pictures look like utter trash.

I don't know if its just me. But I find the stock camera app on X10 very hard to use...
It is only nice on a bright sunny day. The shutter lag makes the camera almost unusable under low-light condition or while you're at an indoor space.
Its slow to focus on subject, and even slower for the camera to take a pictureou, leaving you a blurry image because the person has moved...etc.
The camera app that comes with CM roms in my opinion is the best.. photo is instantly taken once you press on shutter. wonder if any devs would be able to port it on to roms based on stock GB?
that is about right for X10....
otherwise, go for DSLR camera.

X10 camera is good enough with the right app.. but definitely not the stock SE one. It has potential to be there.
asking if any devs are able to port cm6 camera on to SE GB rom
In my opinion The GB stock camera it's better than previous CM roms

Sorry to tell you but the stock app is superior than any app on the market. Show me what app from the market allows you to control EV+/-
Dont think thats a useless feature.....its what seperates stock cam from any other app.
Ive given lots of pointers as a photgrapher within these forums how to properly get a great image regardless if your lighting is poor.

-Use touch capture
-Use the modes! If you want to take a quick picture, go to sports mode, so on and so forth
-Use the EV! It makes the pictures come to life
I have not noticed any camera lag between pressing the shutter and getting the shot...are you on Gingebread? The GB update seems to have sped things up a lot.

If you use normal mode for interior without decent lighting, you will see the screen does not respond promptly as you move the camera around different subjects, that's the lag I'm talking about.
Thanks for suggesting sport mode tho..its a lot more responsive. Didn't bothered to try it before.
But what it does really is compensating exposure for the less lag as I've figured...sport mode is unusable without daylight, the image is way too dark.
Yes I'm on GB at the moment, not saying X10 camera is that bad, but it wouldve been so much better if its as fast as the camera included in CM roms

Guys who dont know EV
its that setting by which you can + or - the lighting in the cam. its on the right hand side in a box with +/- sign.
If you learn the camera correctly, you can take some awesome shots. I still have pictures till this day that people are amazed by the quality and clarity of the photos. The X10 can take the shots you want with patience and practice.
It takes better pics than my ATRIX.

Hey guys after coming from my Nexus which took terrible photos I would like to use the s3 to take some photos of the kids etc. I have bought photo fx previously and am wondering how this compares to the default camera app? What settings do you guys recommend like HDR burst shot etc? Thanks for any advice
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Anyone?
Why don't you try a few settings out and see what works for you? I use hdr mode for landscapes as it takes a while to merge two exposures together and kids don't tend to stay still for too long. Macro works as it should. That's about all I can tell you.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I have tried a lot of different apps for the camera, but stock seems to match or better them all for me. I am no expert but am happy with the results. As stated, hdr is brilliant for still scenes and the colours it produces are exceptional. Don't use for your kids though unless their asleep

I like stock camera too. Great images at all.
As u guys are concernd abt d camera quality on cm11 .. I have found a solution .... Just download the app named focal(beta) from play store ... It works very good and fine than the default camera ...

Its worlds most buggy camera as far as i have downloaded it 5times for me
developers are like gods
For Me, Stock Camera is better. Focal is still in beta and buggy. Hope the dev team will fix that soon.
Focal used to be included on JellyBean CMs. It's buggy as hell.
Besides default CM11 camera is good enough, with quality almost matching Samsung's camera... the only downside is the slow camera preview.

This is that cool app...
Btw... It is possible that it is set just on 3mps or 5MP...so just check every single setting and understand app completely before using for clicking....
Hope i helped

Hello guys,
I am new here so wanted to know if there is a working Android Kitkat Camera APK for a non root LG G2.
Photosphere in LG G2 Stock Camera is not that good for me and I wanted to make use of the Camera app used by Nexus 5.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, i'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

Similar question except on ROOTED phone.
I'm running AOKP Nightly from 2/8/14, but the camera options only let me adjust to 8MP which seems kind of a waste on a 13MP camera. Any suggestions on fixing this (app or instructions on flashing apk)?
Thanks in advance

Hey folks!
The recently published new camera app from Google has some nice features. Unfortunately, as many other camera apps for the G2, this camera app lacks in picture quality in comparison to the G2 stock camera and its derivatives...
I'm not a developer but I thought that maybe it would be possible to modify the GoogleCamere to shoot better pictures using our beloved G2...
What do you think?
Bye, Spatz

Why not just use one of the posted g2 camera mods? They're already optimized.

Because,
1. most of them are only updated for stock roms and
2. the don't have those nice new functions like focus control, that the new GoogleCamera offers...
The camera mods change more than just the camera app.
I find the Google camera just as good as far as basic photo quality.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
Most of the optimisations in the camera of OEM phones is in the app, but many are in the Kernel. Without both you will never get the same level of quality.
Porting them over is just not possible since its not just about settings, but also drivers and often you will not get the benefit of the drivers without the OEM app.
I wouldn't mind only a mod to select 16:9 for pictures instead of only 4:3 formats.
