What on earth possessed you to put this topic here???
Please use your noodle and read forum titles and next time you have a question use the "Q&A" forum, not development unless you intend to post a rom or reference etc.

Hi all
There is a wiki page set up for the Ideos X5 devices. It may well be helpful in splitting the useful info that you good users have added to this forum. Please feel free to edit it appropriately, but please remember this is most helpful to newbies so be as clear and conciseness with the information you add. It could become a great resource if everybody gets behind it. Feel free to use this thread to bounce ideas around for it.
Huawei U8800 IDEOS X5 WIKI Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Huawei_U8800_IDEOS_X5
Thanks to PaulMilbank for bringing this to my attention.
Take it easy

Updated a bunch of stuff on the Wiki, now has a lot more order and info. I have only got a couple of days experience with this forum though so others with more experience can now improve on my page editing. It now has a separate section for u8800 and u8800 pro roms so hopefully that helps.
It needs to be updated in the recovery section as I have just listed all the recoveries I can find, but some are really old and I don't know which recoveries are for what version. EG: 5.0.2.7 from genokolar seems to be for the 2.3.5 update, but does it work with 2.2.2 and below roms?
Paul
well done
i think that the most important thing now should be to understand why huawei's links to download stock roms are all offline....for example i need the stock vodafone branded firmware for my u8800pro but the link is broken
Would be great to have those, but they dont seem to keep older links.
Maybe we should start another thread pulling together all the known to be good rapidshare, multiupload etc mirrors of those files and get people to contribute their links.

this should be the simplest. solution.
BTW, i have looked for the stock 2.2.2 vodafone-branded firmware but i was not able to find it on the net.
Wiki now has a common problems section with some fixes and workarounds listed.
good thanks

Wiki not works for me.
If someone has gathered all ROMs from Huawei, he/she can send it to me and I will host them on my PC, apache server with 20Mbps uplink. I can give FTP access and www directory.

Can someone confirm or deny this rom?
I tried to use the link by removing the stars and it doesn't get anywhere so not sure what V100R001C00B540G001 is compared to the V100R001C00B522G001 release which is supposed to be the final.
http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwi...=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=NDM2NDk= this is the link Huawei gave on facebook as the final release.
The link of B540 is for U8800+. Here it is: http://www.huaweidevice.com/cn/down...DownloadFile&flay=softw are&softid=NDEwNTY=华为
w0w great.
i have some, not all, i can search for you
there are not any info about u8800-51
why all link from huawei are offline?
I think they just don't store them for long. Manufacturers probably dont want people messing with their phones and breaking them then just restoring an image before returning it under warranty.
I had no problems with the update or on the download. Great improvement on this rom.
Always good to give a new life to our phone
I've updated the U8800 ROMs.

Hello dear XDA members
Important
The Overcome ROM and Kernel is intended for GSM based Samsung Galaxy tab Only !!
(GT-P1000 or T Mobile or AT&T or Telstra Tabs only)
Overcome ROMs and Kernels will NOT work with Latin American Tabs (the P1000L/N Galaxy Tabs) or CDMA-Based Tabs (If your Tab doesn’t have a SIM card,it won’t work…sorry!) or Wi-Fi Only Tabs (P1010 models!)
As I promised to Priyana, a fine member on XDA who probably will share my thread thousand of times , I created this thread to share the Overcome ROM files that I have because a lot of people are still using this fine ROM to restock or to upgrade to some new Custom ROMs like CM.
well, all the credit goes to Alterbridge86 who made this great ROM along with the people who contributed to improve it all the way from the first version.
And now the links:

And did you even bother to read the OP???
People like you really annoy me because about 40-50% of the topics on XDA are clone topics or silly questions that are easily answered by reading the OP, stickies or by using search. It all just pollutes/dilutes the site.

Sos_sifou,
there is a feedback that the overcome guide you uploaded was incorrect.
Apparently the steps jumps from GB stock safe to having CWM recovery (step 7 to 9)
This one that was available earlier in google docs is more accurate.
Can you help replace your OP with this one?

Both of these could be lib related problems. These were happening when I was trying to port ios styled ROMs.

Slight problem...
I'm not sure but if anybody is good at making ROM ports, then please help... I can't really test since someone in my family is already using the Wildfire but I'll see if I can revert back to the CyanogenMod 7 status bar and see if it is sorted

Hello, its this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859817
I want to download the files to android on my phone to install. what is the reason that I do not see the thread and only a vbulletin message get?
I think all mdeejay's thread were closed back in 2011. I don't remember the reason.
The download link for that ROM doesn't seem to be working anyway:
http://www.multiupload.com/XPF96RIOQ7
I used wayback machine to access the site, I wasn't surprised when the link didn't work.
