I just recently got my Razr M - Have it rooted and unlocked Today I loaded the 6/23 CM10.1 rom. When I loaded Titanium Backup Pro to reinstall my apps, it keeps telling me I need to go into settings/applications and enable usb debugging. When I go into Applications, it does not give me that option and I can not find where to enable USB Debugging. - where do I enable USB Debugging?

I just found how to do it while reading around (Which I should have done first!!) and under CM10.1, I had to go into Settings/About phone and tap Build Number 6 or 7 times and that enabled deverlopment options and then I could turn on USB Debugging..

Oh and for those that it's not recognising are you selecting Kies in the USB options? Settings/Applications/USB Settings. Just a thought not trying to be a wise a**.

Having USB debugging will cause Kies mini to not see your phone. So USB debugging (unchecked), Kies (Firmware Update)(Checked)
Wow....lots of misinformation here.
You are doing nothing wrong. Latest Kies says Vibrant is not supported. See my earlier post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838749
If the earlier version doesn't work, then try unmounting your SD card for the sync (if that's what you are trying to do). You can remount after the sync.
Hope this helps. It's ridiculous that Kies is not supported for US phones. Why can't I sync with Outlook? Completely unacceptable. My next phone will be HTC, since they understand the importance of actually supporting their customers.
BTW....What exactly are you trying to accomplish with Kies? What exactly is happening when you try to connect? MTP problems?

that worked for me!! thanks man, I spent all day trying to get this working...
1° conect the usb cable (you have to set your phone to ask you what kind of connection you want, mass storage, kies, etc..)
2° without selecting one, open kies on your pc (worked with kies and kies mini)
3° select kies mode (doesn't need usb debbugin or anything)
Just a comment, even now I got it working, this software (maybe driver i don't know) is a piece of s#$%..
Older Kies mini worked for the vibrant update..I can't connect either my vibrant or galaxy tab threw kies..I can mount and swap files but update NOPe!

Hi Guys,
me again ;D
I do have a problem with the newest CM9 build (Quarx January build). After a few days of using the device with CM9 the phone crashes directly after the start of the device (the screen shows up and an Error appears (Trebuchet crash)). I cant go into settings or stuff like that because the device doesn't react. Wipe didnt work. I installed some Apps during the last few days.
Someone with the same problem???

Hi,
Since some ... weeks, maybe months, my Nexus 4 usb don't works. (I found "Airdroid" app to transfer files over my WiFi but... the problem is somewhere else...)
Only the battery charging works with the usb. I can't use MTP transfer file or ADB !!!
I tried to check/uncheck the MTP option, check/uncheck the option for USB debug mode, tried on other computers/systems, with different usb cable... nothing worked.
The problem is that i flashed a 4.4 ROM (with no SuperSU, so no root...), and i don't know why: I lost my cwm recovery... So now, i can't root/flash a new recovery or ROM because i can't use ADB via the fastboot mode too. :crying::crying:
I tried a lot of things, made a lot of searches all over the web, with no success :/ I hope my usb isn't physically dead ? (have to buy this ?)
What can i do ? Any idea ?
I don't want to stay blocked with this ROM/kernel/radio with no root for ever please !
O/S tested: Windows 8 and 8.1 Pro 64bits; Ubuntu 13.10; Mac OS X 10.6;
Android Version installed: 4.4 build aosp_mako-userdebug 4.4 KRT16M
Baseband: PA radio (.84)
Kernel: PA stock for 4.4
=> But the problem is the same with all ROMs
Same here idk what else to do :/

With Windows 8 reboot the system into advance mode and press F7 at the menu to disable driver signature checking, then go to device manager and uninstall any existing ABB driver checking the checkbox to delete the drive files.
Then reinstall it with Universal Naked Driver (link in sig).
For Ubuntu, follow step 1 and 2 from here: http://bernaerts.dyndns.org/linux/74-ubuntu/245-ubuntu-precise-install-android-sdk
If all that failed , http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?kw=nexus+4+USB+replacement

Have you tried using Goo manager to automatically install open recovery script? I can't remember if that requires root or not.
What happens when you try to get into download mode from fast boot?

Just got my phone today and for some reason cannot install the drivers in order to root my phone. I've enabled developer mode also and usb debugging is also not recognized oh the device as showing up on screen although its checked as active. Could my drivers for the nexus 5, nexus 7 our old nook he be coming into conflict with the drivers from this device somehow? I've routed several phones and this is strange and unusual behavior to me. Any help would be appreciated.

It would help to know morea about what OS your using to root it. What have you tried so far? What cable are you using? Have you tried it on more then one machine? There is pertinent information missing that makes it hard to help. The old drivers might be causing a confict but I doubt it. However, if you think they are just uninstall them.

Nope, because you didn't say which options menu you were looking at or what you were trying to debug. Are you in the Settings menu? If so, have you enabled Developer options? Do you mean the Service mode debug option menu? Are you taking about a debug level somewhere or a logcat? Something else entirely?
As you didn't describe what you are looking at we can only guess. We'll assume the USB debug mode since that is the most common usage -
Settimgs > Gemeral > Developer options > Debugging: USB debugging
If you don't find the Developer options heading, then go to:
Settings > General > About device > Firmware build number
And tap on the build number until you see the message, “Congratulations you are now a developer”.
If you've already done that, I can only assume that you somehow missed that garish and prominent switch at the top of the Developer Options page.

Ensure that you do not have an USB cable connected when you try.
If still greyed out, reboot to recovery mode and wipe system cache.

Try disabling Developer Options with the slide switch at the top of the page.
Wait five seconds, then turn the switch back on. Then try clicking on the check box even if it still appears to be greyed out.
Before continuing, I need you to confirm that you are trying the suggested steps. Otherwise there is too much uncertainty around whether you missed a step or tried it and the result. It's not possible to see patterns developing when we have no idea if you tried the steps.
e.g.
You didn't comment or confirm that you had tried these steps
Ensure that you do not have an USB cable connected when you try.
If still greyed out, reboot to recovery mode and wipe system cache.

Presumably you have a stock recovery mode.
Remove the battery from your phone for a few seconds to assure that it is powered off.
Replace the battery.
Press and hold the volume up, then home, then power keys.
You can release the keys when you see the phone start to boot.
This should boot to recover mode.
Use the volume up and down keys to scroll through the on screen menu.
Use the power key to select wipe cache partition
If you still can't find this option, tell is what choices are in your recovery menu.
Let us know if you are able to wipe the cache partition or not. And if it affects the greyed out box.
.
Already wiped. Nothing changed
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The only other thing that I can suggest is a factory data reset. This can be done from the settings menu or in most variants, from recovery mode. It would default all of your user settings to remove any obscure settings or conflict that may be causing this.
You should do a backup before trying that because it would remove your settings and files. A backup would allow you to restore your information after the test.
Should the problem remain after wiping the data partition, then the prime suspect would become missing or corrupt system files. That would be fixed by reinstalling the firmware.
And by process of elimination, a problem still extant after that would inevitably be hardware based. Likely a damaged USB jack.
.
fffft, I will leave it as it is. Thanks for support

Had the same problem - resolved
I had the same problem on my Galaxy S5. What I found to be the problem was that I was using Samsung KNOX to segregate my personal information from my company email and calendar. When this was installed the company forced some security settings on my phone. When I removed Knox I was then able to access the option.
Even if you aren't using Knox, it could be security settings on your phone if you are using it for corporate emails.

FYI samsungknox.com/en/faq/can-i-use-usb-debugging-mode-device-running-knox
According to Samsung:
Having My KNOX, KNOX Express, or KNOX Premium installed disables USB debugging on the device.
KNOX Express and Premium have the ability in Admin Portal to enable USB debugging, but My KNOX does not.
