What? Didn't you change IMEI after full flash? You have to change your imei to correct one.

I want to change imei sir but i dont know how . did u know how to?

Whaterever you do don't install any room that needs repartitioning.
If you start playing with partitions you phone will never be the same and the chances of losing the IMEI are like 99%.
YOu can restore the IMEI with 5eirom tool but its not the same and everytime you downgrade or upgrade IMEI will be lost again.
DO NOT REPARTITION YOUR PHONE. no matter what other might say to you.
I you want a stable rom with all function working and without issues, I'm afraid only stock Froyo.
After thousands of rom flashes and twice my phone went to repare dure to lost IMEI I have again IMEI issues and phone is like ****.
Theres no rom like stock froyos for our phone.
If you really want a fully working ICS or JB consider changing phone.
This is my honest oppinion and the BEST advice someone can give you. Now its up to you!

I din't quite understand what you meant.
Anyway, downgrading to stock froyo its easy.
If you repartition before, you need to revert to stock partition and then copy the dload folder to the internal SD (very important, must be internal SD)
I would suggest this, is your phone still on guarantee?
If yes just do what I mention above, then upgrade to any stock GB and if the IMEI is 0 take it to repair.
When comes back, the do whatever you like but never repartition again.
Repartitioning is the stupidest thing anyone can do to the phone and who advise it should clearly warn the risks as the biggest one is losing the IMEI.
To correctly restore the IMEI only changing the main board of the device, period!
If you touch the partition of your phone ytou will never be able to restore to REAL AND ORIGINAL stock partition, no matter what anyone tells you.
Please that recommend this should be liable for the damage on the phones as no one, clearly states, that the you will have almost 100% probability of scramble the phone!
Twice got the phone repaired under guarantee now guarantee is over and I have this completely messed up.
Been there, done that....3 times!! So when I tell you this my friend, is with experience and awarness not because I have heard other talking.

I have pink screen can you restore my IMEI on stock GB?
Tell me how to do it becuase everytime I try to do it crashes the rom and I have to start all process of downgrading upgrading.
PLease note that I'm on this for a while so I have a little experience
Also, both times that went for repair, it cam with a complete new interior (board) and obviously new IMEI.
If there is a simple way of restoring the IMEI why don't the technicians of Huawei do it?
Or They have a thing for spending money is changing the hardware?
The second time I speciafically asked not to chnage the hardware and respective IMEI as I would have to again pay for an unlock code. They sent a reply saying the IMEI is saved on Factory and when lost it cannot be restored again. The only solution to correctly do it is by change the board for a new one, and by this you will also get a new IMEI.

Loss of data connection ( and buggy phone part)

Hello
i just updated my galaxy s to the leaked 2.3.3 build from a danish 2.2.1 build i tryed reflashing it since i had problems with no data connection and errors in phone part ( though it worked, just a bit buggy) the reflash and repartion that i choose to do since i had voodoo kennel on my phone before did not help either, so now my phone cant use data connection
anyone have any suggestions? maybe it is a common error? i tryed googling and looking a bit but did not see anything.
I really appreciate the help, another thing i would love would be a 2.3.3 build with danish keyboard/speech in it.
Are you saying that you flashed to a phone that was lagfixed .
If so its broke your phone Undo lagfix before flash is rule one .
You will need to flash stock rom using Odin to get a working phone .
jje
Okay but i flashed the version that was out in the forum with Odin, what Rom should i flash to get back to a state where i can flash 2.3.3 with Odin again? and will i need to re partion, i kinda thought that would take care of the laggfix?
I'm not sure what your problem is. Just take the files from the JVK Rom (PDA, Modem, CSC) add a pit file (512.pit or what you want) and select repartition and click start. Don't need to disable lagfix if you do it that way.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Hmm okay the thing is i already did exactly that and still no data connection :S
Maybe i need to flash a kennel without laggfix?
I have now flashed samsung stock kennel for 3.3.3 , i have reflashed 2.2.1 the version i get from my kies in Denmark and everything works in 2.2.1, now i tryed reflashing 2.3.3 and i still got the same problem as before any help would be much appreciated
Sounds like you need to put in your telco specific APN to get data working.

where do i find this file?
It's not a file, it's the name/details of a server on your provider's network. If you didn't back up your original firmware, you'll probably have to call your network or check their website.
Word to the wise - reposting the same question after 7 minutes won't win you too many friends
Danish 2.3.3 keyboard - best to wait until the Nordic firmware is released/leaked.
Thanks the VPN from my network provider solved it!
btw i did not repost any question it was not the same question and i only posted course i was still in doubt.
again thank you all, properly never would have throught of VPN Settings by myself
No problem, glad you sorted it out.

[HELP] IMEI is missing after flashing rom

Hi All,
After flashing new ROM, my first time, the device couldn't connect to the network due to missing IMEI.
I don't know how and why it was deleted.
I have tryied to revert back to the Stock ROM and the same.
I have no support from my service provider because the device is hacked...
Any solutions?
same case happened to me
hi there, just the same thing happened to me when I newly bought samsung galaxy S2, I did many trials to find a solution and a lot of internet research but I could not find any, and a lot of new flashes.
At the end, I re- installed again a stock ROM and went to the service shop where it is still under guaranty, the guys there did not know how to fix it back although they have contacted the VENDER (samsung firm), and at the end they replace it with BRAND New one, I was lucky.
However, when you get a new one, you have to back up a directory called "efs" using root explorer application (have to buy it from market),while u must be rooted, they folder includes the imei data needed, and if you have it already back it up some time back, try to restore it and may be you will have your imei back, (i could not dare to try this after i got the replacement).
My cousin had this problem when he flashed lite'ning rom 6.1 on his new galaxy s 2. I flashed it back to stock XXKH3 and imei and baseband returned. Tried flashing back to 6.1 and again went off so back to stock and everything working fine.
Try restore IMEI technqiues (part of my reserches atthat time):

Using the root explorer method I'm not sure you will be able to restore the IMEI if you corrupt the /efs folder. Have a look at this!

If your /efs directory got erased due to a flash.. Short answer: Without a backup you cannot restore it. A support request from samsung maybe, but unlikely due to the modified nature of the device.

If only. It's funny how people lose their efs folder then come complaining and researching afterwards. All they have to do is simply back it up.

for me, after installing Lite... Rom 6.1, i miss my IMEI, but after installing first rom(with three files!) of middle east, its back to me!!!
Lost IMEI
Are you sure the IMEI is realy lost? sometimes when the modem ****s up or compatibility issues.
I think maybe you should download only the modem which corasponds to the rom you are using, ie, use KH3 modem if KH3 ROM etc.
Give that a try my friend...dont forget to read the instructions in the other threads about the use of odin, I know this is not the appropriate place for this thread but there is no need to be agresive towards people who are learning the ropes
indeed try to flash back to stock rom and then root Backup your efs folder then try flashing a rom again.
i got this also that my Imei was gone flashed back to stock and it was back again.
Someone knows how to reproduce this?
I already have an efs backup but want to try to get a new sgs2 (yellow tint prob).
Cheers
Same here, have had Litening Rom 6.1 (for a couple of months already) and IMEI gone since this morning. The phone can't find the network anymore. It also has problems booting up sometimes. In some cases I need to pull the battery and boot it 5 times in a row before it boots past the first screen.
I guess I need to downgrade as well. (Or upgrade to the latest Litening version, but I'll first downgrade to the original firmware.)
on newer phones they have made it harder to fff up your imei the efs directory no longer exists and the data is saved in a private partition instead..
that is the way it is on my wifes galaxy s gio that i just setup..
just info for thought.

[Q] Defy cannot detect SIM and memory card.

Hi dudes. Bought lately Defy with strang issue. When I put into the slots SD and SIM cards the phone cannot detect it. Only emergency calls allowed.
Mentioned cards are 100% works as I took them from another, fully working Defy. This is red lense,
System: Blur_Version.0.0.1.MB525-nightly.T-Mobile.en.US.
Firmware: 2.1-update1.
Baseband: 3gsmepu93a_u.93.00.2bi
Kernel: 2.6.29 [email protected]+1
BPflex: GM1CP1250JORDAN250AA031
Just wonder if someone faced such an issue before and what would be a solution. Simply before I go for service I`m trying find out if this is a hardware or software problem. Another problem is existing software. Despite Eclair firmware I cannot upgrade it to Froyo or Ginger.
Each attempt(ex:JRDNEM_U3_2.21.1_SIGNED_USAJORDANTMGB_P030_A012_M001_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf, JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-005_NORDIC_SIGN_SIGNED.sbf, JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED.sbf, ) ends with Pass on RSD lite, but black screen and only option is return to Eclair.
I`ll be gratefull for any usefull suggestions.

Thanks for reply again
Yes I can. Gingerbread SBF`s works. I just flash shadow_2.3.4-134_DFP-10. Phone is boot up but sadly SIM and memory card are still unrecognised. and I can`t do nothing except emergency phone call
It may suggest that the phone has a hardware issue. Can anyone recommend a good (I mean good quality and not too expensive) service in the UK (London)
This might be obvious but you have used baseband switcher? Though on the whole I think you are right in saying that its an hardware issue. No clue on UK providers
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
Hi, I wish to check - change baseband, but only SBF which allow me to get to settings not contains such feature like baseband switcher and I cant install any aplications as it required memory card, which is not recognised by phone
So I`m in deep sh...t. Visit to service seems to be only option, but thanks for your reply and advice.
Ps. I found what baseband is switched on my phone. This is 3gsmepu93a_u_93.00.2bi
Can anyone confirm that`s correct baseband for UK, please?
Baseband switcher is cwm flashable,so you've got no worries there. I have no clue if its the right baseband

[Q] Should I root? Considering...

Hey!
So yeah Iv'e been root-phobic ever since I bricked my old Ace Plus back in the day, and Iv'e been satisfied with non-root for a while.
But now the advantages of root are tempting me to go back. Iv'e always hated the fact that you can't disable the camera sound and the bloatware takes necessary space, and let's not forget all the apps that have special root features.
The thing is I'm ready to root again but then I realized rooting would change my phones status to "modified," and I won't be able to update my firmware. And that's a no-no since I'm expecting to ( hopefully ) get 4.3 soon.
So my question is: If I root, remove all the c**p I want to ( camera sound, bloatware ), and then unroot, will my phone status still be modified or will the unoot send it back to normal, so I can update? I hope it does! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!
I think once you root your phone it will stay modified forever, but still, having a rooted S3 is so much better, i have 4.4.1 with CM and its something that I think will never come to our S3, so..
I rooted mine two weeks before I bought it, ****ed it up and fixed it many times...
The choice is yours to make
Yes you can go back to official status even after rooting and flashing custom roms multiple times.
This can be done by resetting the flash counter via Triangle Away and flashing a stock Rom.
Check your Build version and CSC now by dialing *#1234#
Better yet download from Samfirmware your current firmware in case you want to go back to it later.
Also you may want to look at these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42568033
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33817354
Also it's a good practice to backup your EFS, if you're still on efs v1, and keep it in a safe place like your ext sd card or your PC before flashing another Rom or firmware.

[Q] what should i backup before downgrading from 4.3 ?

i know there are serious problems happening when downgrading from 4.3
it happened to me a week ago on my i9500
i flash MIUI V5 and lost my imei , had to send it to a friend which fixed it in his lab
im not giving up though, i really like and used to MIUI and still want it, the question is how to avoid that from happening again, what did i do wrong ?
and worst case scenario it happens again, what should i backup exactly ?
ive installed andromizer and backed up my EFS , does this backup include both my IMEI and SN ? should i do anything else before trying again ?

No, you're not stuck. I've been using MIUI v5 and stock 4.3 back and forth testing which one is better. Personally, i like the interface of MIUI especially the icons BUT there's so much jitter and random reboots every now and then. Wait for the Kitkat release of MIUI.
Why would you change the baseband? o.o
