Hello - I rooted and installed CM on my nook. I tried to download the Nook App from the Playstore, it says the app isn't compatible with my device.
Any ideas?

If you search the CM10.1 threads there is a lot about this issue and its solution.

Easiest way I found was going here - http://mobile.brothersoft.com/nook-79949.html - to download the latest apk, and sideloading it on the Nook. You may find that some magazines will no longer work in the Nook app though, nothing you can do about that (I had to use Google Play Magazines instead).

No, look in verygreen's threads, he has said it is B&N blacklisting the nook app for ovation and hummingbird devices. So you can change your build.prop file or sideload it.

Its not an incompatibility issue, Edit your build.prop its easy to do, there is a description on here (XDA) somewhere if you search for it, on how to do it.

Hi, all the geniuses. I just flashed the MIUI 1.9.16 into my Nook color today.. However,I couldnt normally access to the system. When I turn on my device, There is a dialog box said that "there is problem in android.process.acore". I tried to close this reminder several time but it kept coming up. So how would these happen? any solutions?Aslo, I am using the 3.0.2.8 CWM.so will this be a possible cause? Thanks!
Yes, Your CWM is out of date. Find the latest one 3.2.0.1. Also, there is a much newer MIUI 1.11.04 rom to try (which I happened to love).
Go to miui.us. click on Downloads. Click on Nook Color. Download the latest ROM.
If your need further instructions, post.

Did you see a difference between 1.9.16 and 1.11.4?
Could you tell us what seems better?

Yes, I see a difference. 1.11.4 is snappier and finally my nook doesn't do the occasional freeze up. A much more stable rom for me.

Look at the opening post in this thread and follow the link for CMW. I also use eyeballers image for my SD card. Worked for me when others failed.

Okay, so I rooted my kindle fire with no problem and I got "Android Market" installed but it is an older version that looks kind of funny and it is not letting me install any of my apps (or any apps from the store). I want the newest one because I have two different Google Accounts with different purchased apps on them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Where did you download the Android Market?
Check what version your Android Market is:
1. Go to Settings-->Applications-->Third Party Applications
2. Scroll down and select "Market"
The version should be 3.3.11
Sent from my Kindle Fire using xda premium
Also note that there seems to be a filter on the market that doesn't allow all applications to be downloaded on the Fire
You can sideload those apps though, as long as they are compatible with the Kindle Fire

Vending.apk is the problem. All the tutorials had that as the app to use. For me, it was never starting any downloads and yes it was the old market version.
Try com.amarket.apk from the gapps.zip, that worked for me first try.
Use the vending.apk on this post. It is the one that got market fully functional for me.

How did you install?
I installed vending.apk, got same starting download issue. I copied the gapps market apk to sys, chmod to 644 and tried to install. Starts install and then just says Application Not Installed.

This is a good choice. I was using it for a bit on my HTC flyer before I rooted and installed on my Fire.

So I took the plunge and put CM10 on my trusty nook. So far so good. I like it. Except that I can't seem to get the menu button to work. I've seen a few work arounds in other forums with other devises, but I don't know how to work it on my Nook. Any help would be much appriciated.

That was a bug in Beta 2. Try flashing the new Beta 3 and see if it works.

Generally not if over a B2. But over anything else, yes.

I had the same menu problem in beta 2, but beta 3 has corrected the issue. I did a complete wipe and reinstall with b3 and it is running great.

Hi,
I am sure this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to get clear instructions on how to do it.
I rooted my NC last night. It is version 1.4.3 and I used the below method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494901
I installed this manual nooter: manualnooter-5.08.20.apps2sd.block_updates.zip
and also this kernel: Dalingrin OC kernel
So right now it is rooted - I just can't seem to get the play store market. The market that I see is very limited. Can someone please provide me detailed instructions on how to put on the play store?
Also - are there any other launchers that I can use/are recommended? Currently using the Zeam Launcher.
I want to be able to install games and play videos for my son - and I also want to be able to use things like Hulu and Netflix. Are there any other add ons that anyone recommends?
I am very good at following the instructions, just need them described in a way that I can understand as I am not that techy!
Thank you in advance!!
Market should update itself to Play Store as you use it. But that will not necessarily help with getting rid of the limitations. You may have to get your apps from other stores like Amazon.com or 1mobile.com.
I like ADW for my launcher.

What do you mean it will update itself? For example I searched for Candy Crush (yes, i know HAHA), and it doesn't find it? :/

read my edit above. Play Store is just a newer version of market.
Edit: Market/Play Store is sometimes very picky about what it will show as compatible with your device. Your options are to use other stores or install the app you have downloaded from another device.

Ok - thanks.
I also read somewhere that I should install gapps?
For the ADW launcher - can I find that on the market?

Gapps are included in manual nooter, you do not want to install again.
Yes, you should find ADW in the market.

Awesome - I will tinker more with it tonight TY for your help!
Another question, since you have been so helpful :
With the way that I rooted the nook, what version do I have? (Gingerbread, ICS, Honeycomb)
I assume knowing which version I have will help in terms of what apps will work on it and be compatible.
Thank you

Hi Leapinlar,
So I successfully got the play store working and some other things. Running Go Launcher as the launcher.
I was wondering, how do I go about making it a little faster? I notice that it lags quite a bit. I downloaded Nook tweaks, but have no idea on what to change on there. I have also been reading posts about Cyanogenmod 7 or Cyanogenmod 10 but don't know if that will make a difference. I do have most of the apps saved on the SD card as to not take space and memory. I also have clean sweeper installed to kill tasks.
Any advice? Thanks.

If you want the most stability and speed, install CM7.2 stable.
Follow this guide to replace your stock.

Hello guys,
I have seen many people request tablet UI on the kitkat rom pages (sgt7 and fuzz). Here is a guide top do so, so that you do not big the devs who are constantly working
THIS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE
Step 1) Have xposed framework installed.
Step 2) Go to the downloads and scroll down till you see tablet ui.
Step 3) Download and install
Step 4) Reboot and enjoy!!!
If this worked for you, press the thanks button!!
Here are screenshots
Here is where I found it
OK, so I installed the framework (it wouldn't run correctly until I disabled "respect CM settings for root" in SuperSU settings, FYI), and downloaded the module as well as tick the box to enable it. Everything is installed and running, yet I have no tabletUI. :/
My guess is that I have to use a certain launcher, or that said launcher must have default settings? I'm using Nova Launcher and wonder if that's why it isn't working. What launcher are you using, OP?
I'm using trebuchet but the launcher does not matter. It's a part of the system ui.
I'm actually on Fuzz's cm 11 and I do have plans to change to sgt7. I tested it and found it to be quite smooth.

So there's a decent chance this doesn't work on the rom that came from the thread where you linked to this.
If anyone manages to get it working on sgt7, post here!
Now according to every thread with tablet ui mods and questions, Google has officially removed tablet support from 4.4. So how you got this to work is blowing my mind.

ive tried this on Hash's CM11 for KFHD, doesnt work, found out Android took out the Source code for TabletUI and and wont be implementing it in future updates. PA wont be including it in their ROM's also. unless someones willing to rewrite the code into kitkat, it wont be possible(yet).
It shouldn't work on CM11 BC the System UI Framework is different than CM10.2. This uses CM10.2 Framework. Do not use unless below CM10.2

Perhaps you could make a backup (after you wiped everything personal) and send it to the devs so they could try adding it to the roms.

You have blue clock and icons - indicates non-KitKat version of Android.
That's why everybody else failed.
This is possible on Android versions 4.3 and lower.

That's exactly what I wish for. Only on a Nook HD+. But if there's no user interface in the Tablet UI module, you can't swap the Nav and Status section left to right. True?
It really doesn't matter. I can't get it to work anyway. :crying:
