From Hboot-1.33.0010 (SAPP50000) to Engineering SPL 1.33.2010

I've seen in cursordroid's thread. if u have have the Hboot-1.33.0010 (SAPP50000) spl on your phone with the latest amon ra recovery, i just have to put the engineering spl on the sd card and flash it using the recovery image, is this true, can this brick my phone, and would i lose any data at all, and can i just let it boot into my rom or are there any special steps to take after its done, thanks in advance for the assistance....

I just took the plunge and applied the spl via the recovery menu, it worked on my rogers branded magic, i now have the 1.33.2010 S-OFF engineering spl. one thing to note is when the phone rebooted into recovery, it looked liked it got stuck on formatting cache, i waited for a few minutes. then i hit reboot now, and all is well

I'm with Rogers and just upgraded to CursorSense this weekend. I first had to upgrade my SPL to engineering SPL.
All I did was copy the Engineered SPL 1.33.0010 to the root of my SD card, renamed it to update.zip.
Then using fastboot I booted into Amon recovery (fastboot boot recovery.....) and applied "update.zip from sd card".
When I rebooted phone I had the new SPL.
Now your phone can be remote flashed using fastboot. You can apply new Radio (fastboot flash radio "filename"), HBOOT (fastboot flash hboot "filename") and recovery ROM (fastboot flash recovery "filename"). Please note that if you want to use the CursorSense ROM you need to use the Amon HERO recovery, not the Magic recovery.
Then you copy the CursorSense ROM to your SD card and rename it "update.zip".
Boot into recovery mode and apply "update.zip from SDCard".
You should be done.

I was not able to fastboot the recovery from adb.
I get 'remote: not allow'

i got the engineering spl from amon ra thread nad i put it on my sd card and flashed it as i would any other update, as for the recovery, i used the 'one click root method' as demonstrated on http://theunlockr.com/ website and i had root, i used the latest sapphire recovery from amon ra which is version 1.5.2

Wow, that was loud and clear...

HSPL2
HSPL2
To install/uninstall this HSPL there must be any SPL version from this list on your device:
SPL 1.42.0000 SPL 1.42.HSPL
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000 SPL 1.66.HSPL
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000 SPL 2.08.HSPL
Other versions are not supported. (They are rare however...)
Now you can uninstall HSPL via same program, you no longer need to flash rom from SD card!
In HSPL2 you can select which version of SPL you want to install in the device.
There included 6 SPLs:
OSPL 1.42, OSPL 1.66, OSPL 2.08 (Original SPL)
HSPL 1.42, HSPL 1.66, HSPL 2.08 (Hard SPL)
Remember that some ROMs have old SPLs, for example 2.10 ROM have 2.08 SPL, 1.72 ROM have 1.66 SPL and etc!
You can install any of them using HSPL2.

Goto my flashing for noobs thread I have update my instructions for the NEW HardSPL2 by Bepe which can flash any SPL or HardSPL up or down.

Possible sollution to unbrick TMOUS HD2/EU HD2

Before you start one note, this method only works if you succesfully flashed HSPL before and is intended as last help to unbrick your device.
If you have a untouched bricked stock rom on your device with a stock SPL don't try but just return it for repair.

Please follow this steps carefully.
01.Download the rom here:
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.02.531.MASD_S__Radio_Signed_15.29.50.07U_2.06.50.04_TeleNav-5.5.42.zip
02.) Download attached MTTY
03.) Make a folder on your desktop in C:\
C:\Recovery\
C:\Recovery\TMOUS202\
04.) Put downloaded MTTY unzipped in C:\Recovery\.
05.) The unzipped T-MOUS 2.02 you copy to C:\Recovery\TMOUS202\.
06.) Extract the TMOUS 2.02 exe by right klicking it and choose extract.
07.) Remove all files extracted exept RUU_Signed.nbh
08.) Rename RUU_Signed.nbh to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to your device storage card.
Now next steps I've used Windows XP and don't know how it works in other OS so you need to find out yourself sorry.
09.) Open MS ActiveSync\settings and disable USB connection.
10.) Take out sim card and storage card from your device.
11.) Next put your device in bootloader (volume down button + Power button) and connect to your pc.
12.) Open MTTY in the directory where you have copied it C:\Recovery\.
13.) Port you choose 'USB'and press ok.
14.) In the window that follows next type 'Task 29'(without the quotes) and press ENTER.
15.) MTTY will give you some errors in next Window but please ignore.
16.) Next disconnect your device from USB, take battery out and put your storage card in.
17.) Put battery back in and put the device in bootloader and follow the onscreen instruction to flash.
If this method worked for you then download a shipped rom that came with
your device from the factory website using your device serial and flash this rom from storage card
Follow the same steps (6,7,8) as you did before with this rom to get LEOIMG.nbh
Your back to factory rom.
Reminder, in order to flash a cooked rom again you need to flash Bepe and Cotulla's HSPL.
This method worked on a bricked European HD2 which gave us a radio fail message.
I'm pretty sure it will work for your TMOUS too.

In somecases SPL 2.02 will lock your device. However, using a Goldcard did solve this issue.
So have a goldcard as back-up.

Lock the device sounds scary but it actualy means the device is locked in the SPL (bootloader)
that comes with the T-Mob 2.02 rom not giving you the possibility to flash to another shipped rom.

Great TUT!
Yes, this exact ROM (or 2.03) will work with the HD2 TMO USA model. Actually, I have found that this is the ONLY rom (LEOIMG.nbh) that will flash to my TMO USA HD2. Long story short...I flashed a ROM with a unwanted watermark and the only way (outside of goldcard) to get rid of the watermark was flashing 2.03.
NOTE: Currently, I have been unsuccessful in finding a way to flash this SPL. HSPL, SSPL, USPL, etc. has not worked. Otherwise, the stock ROM ain't half bad Working with xmoo on goldcard solution.

Just like I have written, don't be scared because Task 29 doesn't touch the bootloader.

ok, so I'm doing it, but still no success.I see the bootloader but nothing shows up.

How did you brick your device if I may ask?
Did you use HSPL before it bricked?
The only thing I can think of is that you are using a stock SPL and you aren't able to change as it's locked.
Can you tell me what SPL shows in your bootloader?

thats what I said in the other thread, this is a brand new phone, I have never flashed it with HSPL

In that case there's nothing else then return it for repair.
Your SPL isn't hacked so it's good for warranty.

Sorry friend, but a stock SPL is locked and makes it impossible to flash a cooked rom or a rom in another language.

The only thing you can still try is to download the rom for your device using the TMob website and try to flash the rom using your pc.
If it's still stuck there then you need to return it.
My bad as well, as I should have mentioned it only works when you flashed HSPL and a cooked rom before, that's why I opened this thread to help people.

Thanks for confirm, hopefully you find a way to get out of SPL.
On the HTC HD2 we unbricked it was no problem to flash a stock rom from sd card afterwords.
Maybe you could try to use a sd card with Goldcard on it and then follow this method one more time?

I searched the T-Mo site and cannot find the stock ROM for HD2; do you know where it's hiding?

Change SPL?

I am a little bit confused, this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756918) says:
Step 8)
Turn of the device.
Start in recovery mode by holding the home-button together with power-button for min 5 sec.
The custom recovery should start. You navigate using the trackball.
Choose "flash zip from sdcard"
choose the zip file you pushed in step 6.(should start with hboot)
Follow the instructions on the device screen. JUST DO WHAT IT TELLS YOU TO DO!!!
The device should restart a couple of times...
It's normal if you see a different recovery screen for 10-15 sec... LET IT WORK!
By all means don't interrupt it unless it has taken more then 2 min!
(IF MORE THEN 2 MIN, REMOVE BATTERY)
When it's back in recovery and is doing nothing for 15 sec then your done.
Choose "Power off".
Restart in fastboot and check that your info has changed from what you wrote down earlier

Well it's rather simple.
My method ( i wrote the guide you are referring to) is to change the spl only.
Using the custom recovery and a self signed spl update package you can do that without disrupting your current system or radio or recovery.
Using a goldcard and a update.zip you are possibly changing your entire system.. e.g. system, radio, recovery and spl...
And it must be HTC signed update... and you will most likely end up with a perfected spl anyway!
So choosing the method depends upon what you are trying to achieve.
For changing the spl to eng spl i highly recommend using the custom recovery part... unless you are 100% sure that flashing a update.zip using the goldcard will give you a eng spl or non-perfected spl.
PS: Only change the spl using custom recovery if you have a purpose for it. I recommend to leave it alone unless you want to change to OR(old radio) or something.

PS: If you flash eng spl, you can use my/eyegor's radioswitcher tool in my signature to change between OR and NR(new radio).

hboot = spl.
The 1.76.2007 is eng spl.
All what you need in inside the roottools and all info is in the guide.
They come in pairs... if not flashed together you can get a brick!
spl & radio pairs:
1.76.2007 - 6.35
1.33.20xx - 3.22 (xx can be the following nr: 05 or 09 or 10)
This is only for the 32A version of magic.
The 32B devices have different spl - radio combos.

[Q] [BRICKED] i bricked my HD2 - Help

Hi,
I bricked my HTC HD2 (unbranded, EU/GSM Version).
I tried to install NAND Android, but after i installed HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR, i forgot to install newer Radio version.
- WinMo doesnt start anymore
- Bootloader shows following informations:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
- Reflash via LEOIMG.nbh on SD-Card is not possible -> Showing "Loading..." all the time, still no change after 15min.
What can i do?

You say you flashed spl 2.08? In your description it says it is showing 2.08.0000. Then you don't have spl flashed right. You need to reflash spl and choose 2.08

Reflash HSPL..It suppose to have Cotulla written on it.Just enter bootloader by pressing volume down while turning it on.Connect the phone unto the PC and reflash HSPL.Don't mind activesync.Hope it help.
