So I have the I9500DDUBMEA update installed on my I9500 but when I try to move a large app to the SD card via the application manager, it does not free up any space and the application data is still in the internal memory of the phone. Any help?

Hi,
The latest firmwares will let you move the apps to the sd card, but they will not move the data.
This does not help at all.
The only way to do this is to use FOLDERMOUNT
You must be rooted for this.

[Q] market place tells me "no space" with over 2gb of internal storage left!
As some of you may have read on an earlier thread of mine where my phone got stuck looping Droid screens it has now come back to life.
i now have this issue that when i go onto market place to get my apps back, it tells me there is no space to install this. i have a 16gb card which has been partitioned as fat32 for music etc and ext 2 for apps. its formatted the same as before my phone died except im now using a 16gb card not 8gb.
why is it telling me there is no space when clearly there is?
thanks
Hi
I think you are confusing internal storage and sd storage.
If you use a program like titanium backup, it will show you on the opening page all the available storage you have (internal,sd and ext).
If you have no internal storage, it's possible you didn't use correct system partition according to the [OP] recommendation.

The Market did that to me earlier too. It's some kinda glitch. I was able to download the app after I just tried a few times.
^ Shift Faced
You can use spare parts 2.1 Update (it's somewhere on the forum) to make App2SD+ install apps on the External storage (the ext2/3/4 space)
I think that you need to download a script that fixing this problem because the market application needs a links to the cache files.

Hi,
You can move the app to the sd card, but you cannot move the data.
The only way you can move the app AND the data is to use FOLDERMOUNT
I'm trying to move anomaly 2 to my sd card, but it doesn't work. When I go to the application manager I have the option to move it to my sd card, but when I try it takes forever and then at the end it says unable to move app. I have moved many apps this way, but this one wont move. The only difference I can think of is the size of the app, anomaly 2 is 1.8gb which is the biggest game I have. I am using kitkat 4.4.2, and I am also rooted (this problem happened before I rooted though.)

I don't mind if I cant move the data, I just want to move the huge app from my internal storage to my sd card. I used the built-in app manager.

IF "move to sd-card" option is available in built-in app manager but u cannot move it.
that can be bug in that app. ask other user of app or its developer

Thanks, I didn't know it was up to the developer. I emailed the developer and unfortunately, I can't move it. Is there anyway to move it since my phone is rooted?

cause it s on app the answer is NO.
if that was because of android system can use something like mount stick to mount sd-card with internal
(that is available on galaxy devices by default)

That sucks. Thanks anyway though.
I have rooted with vroot to help gain more useable internal storage, and now I have much less. I would like to know how to reduce the amount of system data used for internal storage. I know there is not much development for the 7.0 so any advice is appreciated.

We cant do anything about it. Best you can do is buy a SDCard and install Foldermount

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me how to get Foldermount to work when there is not enough internal storage space for the obb files. It seems you have to install to internal then use foldermount to move to external. Thanks in advance.
I have a tab 4 7' 8g sm-t230nu, but I cant root mine. Vroot never worked. How did you root yours?
You have to remove the august update 1st. DL the May kernel from sammobile.com and use odin. There is a thread on how to do it.

Yup, it should install to internal storage first. Click the add button and select where the obb files are in and then select the destination at where you want them (should be in: /storage/extSDcard/Android/obb/). The app will then move the files to the destination and trick the tab that they are in the internal storage. If you cant install Foldermount, try to delete cache and if that doesn't work remove any apps you dont use. System apps can be turned off and you will gain some space in return. Move as many apps to sdcard using the Settings app. If you still can't do it, I suggest you:
1) Backup Apps and Data
2) Remove Apps
3) Install apps with large obb files
4) Move data using foldermount
5) Reinstall apps you removed with the space you have left.
6) ????
7) Profit
You may noticed that settings will go crazy saying you have used more storage than you have available (example: 12 out 8 GB used). Don't worry about that, it shouldnt affect you at all

You don't have a problem with the internal memory. You're simply encountering a normal occurrence, as not every app supports moving its data to the MicroSD card. Since your list of apps doesn't support being moved to the MicroSD the only way to clear storage is to uninstall the apps. You may of course try apps to SD card options, but I'm not sure how well they will work on Android 5.x.

thanks bro
even there's no way to force move this apps ?
i can't even make any update to my apps via store :crying:
To move the app data from internal storage would be to break the app itself. You don't want that.
Humor me here. Are you rooted, and are you using a custom recovery? If you are, which recovery?

at the first place i want to restore my space back
yeah , my phone is rooted and am using omega v28 5.0.1 rom
with custom recovery , TWRP 2.8.7.0 touch recovery
I just wanted to make sure you weren't using Clockworkmod or Philz, as those are notorious for eating internal storage. If you want to restore the lost space, you have to uninstall the apps. It's either that or you learn to live with it until Android 6.0 custom ROMs are made available for your device. Android 6.0 allows you to merge internal and external storage so that Android sees the two as a single volume, and that definitely would eliminate your problem.
Oh dear oh dear
ok thanks bro any way , i will try to live with it
Until it happen
Is there anyway to make Google play download / update to the sd card not the internal ??
