Roms and kernels - Oppo Find 5

Hi,
I'm trying to find the best rom/kernel combination so far. My personal favourite at the moment is PAC-rom with the brandnew Maxwen AOKP kernel.
Any other suggestions? I prefer a hybrid rom bacause I'm quite used to have profiles as well as per app dpi.
Cheers!
Verstuurd van mijn Find 5 met Tapatalk

good choice.
i'm use maxwen kernel too. its a very good dev

And what rom do you use with it?
Verstuurd van mijn Find 5 met Tapatalk

at the moment official cm10.1 but i want to switch to aokp from maxwen later

1. Stock AS Rom + faux kernel + Xposed framework if you want good camera + audio
2. XenonHD + maxwen kernel also are good combo! Smooth + good battery life + many mods intergrated

Best battery life
What is the best ROM + KERNEL combo available for the Find5? My main goal is to maximize battery life with little to no cost in performance.

Which kernel is the best?

Hello!
Like the topic says I wonder which kernel you guys thinks is the best! Which one got best battery life and smoothest and yeah you know! And which ROM do you use your kernel with? Personally I think matr1x is the most stable kernel out there when overclocked. But Air kernel with pixel 1.60, nothing is smoother!
Share your opinions plz! have a nice day!

bedalus made us a nice comparison of kernels, i suggest reading his thread and checking out the comparisons http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441905
but personally, i think that the trinity kernels are on the very top of the food chain

Definitely check out that link. Some great information in it relating to kernels.
As for myself, nearly every single time I try a kernel other than matr1x, I get stability issues. Then again, I've only given a few ICS kernels a go thus far. I am a fan of Air Kernel at this current time. It has been stable and fast for me.
Stock kernel !...
because without stock kernel there is no custom kernel..

Same here Skizzled... big fan of Matr1x, but am driving the Air Kernel 3.5_65fps. It has performed very well and has good battery life for me.

I prefer the aniDroid hardened but... b4 & b5 are so unstable.
Now i'm using air.
And waiting for stable anidroid hardened.

Using Air 3.6 with only voodoo right now.
Fast and stable for me till now

My favorite ROM is AOKP and for my phone steve.garon's kernel seems to be the best option for stability, battery life, and smoothness.
Using simple kernel here.. Adds voodoo sound and BLN without compromising on stability cause everything else is stock. I find ics on the nexus smooth enough already
Using air_kernel_v3.6_65fps+blue now.
Fast and stable for me. rom: GummyNex 0.8.2. work perfect for me!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469842
In my opinion, Air Kernel is the best
Matr1x kernel is not working properly with my nexus S, because of undervolt setting.
Simply, it does not boot.
air_kernel_v3.6_65fps+blue with Pixel 1.6 Lite Touch. Best ICS based Kernel/ROM combination for Stability and battery life I have tested so far. But, I normally end up switching back to Oxygen Rom eventually. I know it is GB based but who can beat a fast ROM which can get you uptimes in excess of 1000 hours with no need to reboot.
I use matr1x-cfs 18.0 and so far, everything seems to be fast and stable. The only times my phone reboots is when I play around with the already undervolted kernel.
Other than that, it's fast and I don't see a point of switching to other kernels unless they provide a feature that's not in matr1x.
Matr1x is the best for me battery life and performance.
Sent from my Nexus S
Matr1x kernel for me is always at or near the top can't go wrong with Matr1x the only time I don't use the kernel is if I'm on Peter Alfonso Bugless Beast Rom other than that its Matrix!!
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
Take a look at Thalamus' kernel... for me it's the best balance between stock kernel and modded ones. Battery +75% (approx.) and no reboot at all!
You'll find it (current version: 3.0.23_r1) at this page.
Nuhetri v3.0.1 and airkernel v3.6 with voodoo colors! working flawlessly!
I've been on many different Kernels but in the end I always go back to Matr1x. It worms the best for me

Best ROM and Kernel

Hello guys I'm new here,i get this device 2 days ago(coming from HTC Pico development)...I want your opinion for the fastest ROM,with a nice battery life and UI .Kernel too !
Regards !
i don't know about speed but if you want good battery life and stability, you should use original samsung gb roms like jw1 or newer (my choice is jw1 rom with jvt modem and aosp lock). Then use cf-root for rooting and remove bloatwares. A little advice, don't waste your time with ics or jb developments, because you don't seem to looking for only the fastest rom.

I like this: Slim Bean http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780071
Test yourself
I've tested almost 10 ROMS, and in my opinion, test yourself.
For me, based on JB are good but battery life very poor.
Based on ICS, the best at the moment. My favorites:
1. Realrom v5: Very good battery, smooth, but not very good for playing.
2. SlimRom: very nice, very smooth, no lags but poor battery.
3. Biohazard 7: very very fast, but.... buggie! Problem of restarting.
4. My favorite: SmoothieICS: fast, vary good battery (2 days using greenpower), and perfect games. Still in beta version.
Hope it help you!

Those are the Cyanogenmod ROMs, and they are listed in the dev section, look for threads started by pawtip. CM10.1 pre-release thread is on page one, CM10 thread is on page two at the time of my posting.

I was confused as I couldn't find any references to the cyanogenmod.org site. On the dev page 1 there is the thread
[AOSP][ROM][4.2.1] JellyBean 4.2 PREVIEW (20121205)
wich is AOSP using cyanoges galaxy s tree, but, well, not cynogenmod...
And indeed, on page 2 there is
[NIGHTLY][ROM][4.1.2] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy S
The download link reveals cyanogenmod.org
Anyway, how is helly bean? Hasn't been mentioned, yet!?!
I am about to install this one, but have never tried it before, though.

Helly Bean already is 4.2.1:
hellybean.com/I900042.html
But the majorety goes for CM instead of Helly Bean?
CM10
AOSP 4.2.1 (current)
above rom is awesome what I using.
hellybean and the devil kernel
there are also a 4.2 version which works great
Slim Bean is perfect for customizing..But not for performance i think..
The best combo is Elite's JB builds+latest semaphore kernel so far ..(I think).
But you can try it! I love Slim Bean just for tweaks ... The best one is "high end effects" for me
When you're scrolling not. drawer down, background's dim is channging... Gettin' dark just like Gnexus/Galaxy SIII or other devices which got offical JB !
Also an advice ;
If you wanna long lifetime battery best one is JW8 GB ROM
For me latest CM10 Nightly with Devil Kernel and maybe Lazeroid script works very smooth. No lags in GTA:VC on mid/high settings

Is CM10 better than SlimBean 3.1 in game? (Lazeroid and Semaphore)
for me the fastes is Beast rom 4.2.1 with linaro project + lazeroid 2.1 + semaphore kernel.
That's configuration and it is very smooth.

Kernel governor

Hello,
Id like to know the opinion from some of you guys according to different kernel settings.
I like my phone to be extremely powersaving, id still dont know what settings to use...
Im on temasek AOSP ROM (cm11) and use most of the time these modifications:
#Intelliplug instead of MPdecision.
#intellidemand
#rest stock
Im pretty much satisfied, however, i think this beast van perform better...
Results:
#+/- 5hour onscreentime
#+/- 1day and 10hours total time
------
I saw a Twitter post by faux123 that his Intellidemand kernel is retiring, and a new governor came in place called IntelliActive.
However, i couldnt find A thing about this governor... Absolutely nothing...
Does someone knows something about this gov..?
------
Lets stick with the main question for a minute:
I really like to hear from you guys:
#what in your opinion are the best settings and why!
#what are the results of those settings
#some info about intelliactive
#best kernel app.. (Including Ur settings)
Please share, and be friendly!

He's got a OPX, Nextbit Robin and a OP2. He will develop kernels for all of them, and starts with the OPX :good:

To each his own. Don't compare kernels
From my experience, Franco has HIGH focus on battery life and fluidity, VERY less focus on features.
Boeffla is a balance of both. Though I haven't used his kernel, I can't say much.

I am on blu_spark kernel. I am more interested in battery life and stability rather then kernel features and game-performance (I leave all kernel settings to default and do not have a single game installed on the phone). Based on the above do you recommend I give Boeffla a try or stick with blu_spark?
As for Franco kernel - if it has "HIGH focus on battery life and fluidity", I should really give it a try.

Are you on latest official nightly?
CM is not lagging even a bit on my device try clean installing the next nightly and use Slim Gapps Zero this time.
Also flash Berserk latest kernel and tune it as per the OP of Berserk Kernel thread.
Flash Xposed and install Greenify and activate the Greenify module in Xposed framework, Turn ON the 'Aggressive Doze' from settings of the Greenify App and hibernate unnecessary apps from running in the background.
The combo of these things will give the best Battery life and performance.
I personally get 6hrs of SOT daily.
