I've seen this question asked similarly before on this forum, and countless others. I am unable to reply to those posts on this forum, due to my noob status {whaa whaaa). My problem is this, the info posted everywhere.... Bell.ca, xda forum and about 300 google searched pages, is incompatable with my phone. To be clear, I have a stock ics 4.0.4 rom, rooted with cwr 2013-05-03.22.28.52.
The APN settings that I have to fill out are as follows:
Name-
APN-
Proxy-
Port-
Username-
Password-
Server-
MMSC-
MMS Port-
MCC-
MNC-
Authentication Type-
Apn Type-
Apn Protocol-
Bearer-
Most of these options i have found answers for, some have many answers, the Bell site it's self has mistakes and hasnt been updated in over a year... The two options I can find anywhere is Authentication type, and Bearer,, also there are conflicting reports as to the correct MMSC. Anyone out there have the jam to figure this out? I've dedicated at least 4 hours of solid attention to finding this answer, and I came up short.
Eternal gratitude to anyone who can offer assistance.

I don't know if someone has pointed this out somewhere before, but for those of you with T-Mobile USA that need the network settings for your phones T-Mo has this configuration page
http://tmobileus.wdsglobal.com/phon...Number=&captchaEnabled=true&manufacturerId=41
it has MMS settings, GPRS settings, and PPC as a modem settings.
*EDIT* Ive notice that when I use 216.155.165.050 in my settings for any connection it doesn't work, if the same thing happens to any of you try 216.155.165.50 since for some reason that will always work for me.
TMO MMS WAP Settings
Could we post this info on the wiki or make it a sticky? I get asked about this regularly from newbies who can't figure out the HORRIBLE search feature on this site.
Hello all!
I have been searching for hours looking for answers and I've found a lot of cool information, and supposedly some cabs that will supposedly fix what I want, but I'd prefer to do it manually before loading some cab files from the net. And I want to do it manually because at one point I had this working.
Problem: MMS is not working "correctly." I have the TX and RX small picture problem to be specific. I have found numerous posts linking to cab files here, there and everywhere, and to be honest there are too many download links for me to feel comfortable picking one that claims to work.
I have an HTC Universal branded as an XDA Exec. I recently upgraded the ROM to the latest that O2 had (if you need a copy I can provide), and that fixed some other problems I had going on. The last issue I have unresolved is the small picture problem. I am currently running Windows Mobile 5.
I have called HTC and some spaz guy answered the phone. It sounded like he was getting it on with someone or running a marathon, and he pretty much told me to talk to AT&T, with whom I had just gotten off the phone with. HTC says it's the network, and AT&T says it's the phone that is doing the shrinking.
I don't really care who is doing it at this point, unless that comes with an explanation of how to fix it. Once it's fixed I will be curious as to how it all broke, but now I want it fixed.
I started with the setting for a Cingular 8525 and I could not send or receive MMS msgs. At some point I fixed that, and then they got small, but I could send and receive. Before I flashed the ROM I could receive MMS but not reliably send. I received several MMS pics that were over 100 and 200 k, and one over 300k sent from a Razr. I state this because I know the phoen I have can handle it.
If you could post the settings to help me out, or point me to a link in this forum that has those settings (I'm not interested in a link to just a cab file, I want to KNOW how it works), I would greatly appreciate it. I have been looking on the web, this forum (via its search AND google), and the Cingular website, and even playing around with some of the setting, and I havent found the solution.
If you could email me at dragonfire_83 at yahoo dot com I'd appreciate it. I might forget to check the email/PM feature here...
Also, on a related note, what do I have to do to remove the stupidly arbitrary sending limitation of 100k in the MMS config section?
Thanks!
Dan

Seriously....?
Ok, here I am DAYS later STILL looking for settings.
I managed to find on the cingular website (why is it that it takes me 30 minutes just to find the tutorial website????) and go back to the settings they have there, but now I'm stuck with the resizing problem.
https://www.wireless.att.com/suppor...sCategory=Picture+Messaging&tutorialId=233040
is the link I followed.
# Server Name: Cingular MMS
# Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
# Port number: 80
# Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
# Connect via: MEdia Net
# Sending size limitation: 300k (my phone only does 100k here)
# WAP Version: WAP 2.0
The phone cant send or receive at WAP 1.2, which I think it used to be able to.
I have found an overwhelming number of people and entries with similar problems, yet I have found no solutions.

I am using G1 and I am on Airtel Mumbai.
I have mobile office GPRS.
All I have done is entering APN as airtelgprs.com and all other values as blank and I have my GPRS.....
Couldn't this just have gone in the Big APN Thread?

Hey.... getting the MMS working was my challenge...
Internet just needs the airtelgprs.com APN.
I did not put this in the APN Big thread as there are many users searching for Airtel APN in India and if this becomes a part of a big thread then google would not be able to index it.

Do you want me to delete this thread and add it to the big APN thread ?
I had a though time finding the setting for Airtel India specially for MMS, so thought of creating a separate thread.
Please let me know so I can delete this....

I was just saying, we have the thread now, and it probably is easier to find. You could always put it in the Big APN thread aswell =)
Sorry, wasn't trying to flame before :-/

Hey your welcome...I had a tough time searching so thought of putting it up so others can get it easily.
Wanted to add one point to my post:
If you have added the APN for Airtelgprs.com and then after exiting the settings add the MMS it sometime wont work on G1. Delete all APN`s and then add both one after other.
Thanks a lot...These settings are useful for iPhone as well.
Hello all,
I've just returned from 3 weeks in India and I used my AirTel SIM card (Rajasthan-sourced) in Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Cochin, Bangluru, Goa, Mumbai and on many trains.
It worked very well and had excellent coverage. Pretty cheap, too!
Had a devil of a time getting it all started though. Luckily I had a WM6.5 phone that allowed me to use SMS help since the 121 HelpLine was more than USELESS! (English tree prompts kept hanging up on me). Turned out the shop I bought the sim card from neglected to turn on GPRS...
WM6.5 and SMS menus and I had it going in a few minutes.
GPRS activation was the key...
All I put in for the APN was airtelgprs.com and just named it India!
Good luck all.

1)If you have email working now, then it will work whenever you have a data connection.
2)I'm guessing you're going to have to pay for data
3) What does GPS have to do with with EDGE? The google maps application will be able to download the map tiles on whatever connection you have, be it GPRS, EDGE or 3G.
ok thanks a lot..
eagerly waiting for my g1
3g has been just introduced here and data plans are sick vvv costly as of now..
3g n/w has not been alotted to private firms as yet..

GPS (Global Positioning System) works in India and is free.
GPRS needs to be activated and Airtel has Edge i dont have idea about Vodafone.
Gmail will be setup automatically and so will gtalk.
For MSN and Yahoo you need to download a 3rd Party app.
To configure any pop3 email it has easy steps to configure.
PM me if u need ne help
Oh thanks a lot will need your help later...
God when i am going to receive my G1..still 10 days to go..aww..
One last thing can u tell me whn and how the G1 will get bricked..
Is there any possibility to revert it back without any h/w changes?
coz if i brick it here then it wd remain dead & i wont be able to ship back to usa..
Dont play with the Customs Roms without reading the steps.
Follow the steps do ur homework before u start playing the the ROMS
THANKS Mate! You posted these steps back in 2009. These are still helpful now in 2011 when many are using Android devices. Specially the MMS part.
I don't know how you figured out that but my respect for finding out.
On first attempt I simply edited the details and did not delete the APNs. But I had to completely follow the steps by deleting all APNs and so on. Finally it worked.
Also, your decision to create separate thread was right. I came thru Google lookin for "Airtel MMS Settings on Android".
Cheers

Loop(bpl) WAP Setting:
I know this question is common but I haven't found this anywhere except for this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=568889
But the steps he has provided works well nevertheless I wanted to confirm whether it is the WAP settings or GPRS settings, cause whenever I browse with these settings I get charged for each KB consumed.
I have heard loop (bpl) is providing free surfing and downloading through their WAP facility. So according to that terms these settings are for GPRS and not WAP (Please correct me if I’m not). Are there real WAP settings for Windows Phones? Because the customer support or the Sales Executive endlessly says there’s no WAP setting for WM Phones.
Thanks
71 view yet no reply. Quiet weird
Mods kindly dump this thread. It has been long time since no reply. I guess no one has the answer for it. Thanks
Hi!
I got my Nexus 4 yesterday. I tried following these directions here to set my APN to support IPv6:
(I tried posting the link here but the forum software didn't let me. Please Google intitle:"T-Mobile IPv6 using unlocked UMTS Nexus & Galaxy Nexus Phones" to find the link I was going to post)
Unfortunately after changing the APN and rebooting the phone, 3G mobile networking didn't work. Has anyone had luck with this?
Why would you want to do this? How does it benefit you?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.
i would like to know what this does too. Im on Tmo US and have been having trouble with my MMS pics not downloading ... figure its an APN setting issue
Verify your APN type says "default,MMS,supl" with no spaces.
That should fix your MMS issue.
IPv6 works for me

It seems to work for me: I just changed the APN Protocol from IPv4 to IPv6 on the existing epc.t-mobile.com APN. IPv6 test sites seemed happy (except for IPv4 literals in URLs). Setting the APN Protocol to IPv4/IPv6 (the third option) doesn't give me a functioning IPv6-able DNS, so most IPv6 tests fail.
android-clat?
While on the subject of IPv6...
Is anyone planning on incorporating android-clat ( dan.drown.org/android/clat/ possibly with more info at sites.google.com/site/tmoipv6/464xlat ) into a ROM for the Nexus 4? The T-Mobile IPv6 APN, while working for most things, has a few too many bugs for everyday use without the ability to parse IPv4 literal addresses.
On a related note, I've been a long time lurker here and it's helped me to understand unix based operating systems tremendously, but my only programming experience was C++ 11 years ago in high school. Can anyone suggest a good primer for becoming familiar with android building and compiling? I don't think I'll be able to get up to speed quickly enough to implement clat myself but perhaps I could be more helpful down the road. Much of the terminology with open source software is completely foreign to me; for instance, I see that android-clat has been merged into AOSP as of 11/12, but I'm not quite sure what that means with regards to having it functional in ROMs, for instance... all I know is that stock 4.2.1 and the beta CM10 doesn't have it as I'm still running into the same IPv6 problems.
Thanks!
