HOW TO UPDATE
1. Use AcmeInstaller2 that is in the Link above to dalingrin's post. Use exactly as you did previously with CM7.
2. Place CM9 Alpha0 on your SD card. Reboot into Clockwork Recovery. Wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik. Install the zip from SD card. Reboot.

Follow the instructions in THIS VIDEO. Then use one of the 2 methods as described above.
More information on a Triboot coming soon. (Option of booting CM9, CM7, or Web OS).
I chose to do a full wipe in CWM and flash the Rom afterwards. I haven't had any real issues thus far and have been very pleased using it.

so just to be clear, you can update from custom recovery but there will be "troubles"........only if you do not do a data wipe? or troubles regardless?

if you install via cwm do a full wipe to avoid any trouble. Like I said it has been running great for me.

thanks. i prefer the recovery method(what i'm accustomed to). i would do a full wipe anyway but i just wanted to verify that there aren't other issues when doing it this way. i can't see why there would be but it just sounded weird.

So just to verify reboot to CWM wipe cache, wipe dalvik, full wipe, choose CM9 update zip and reboot.
I presume there is no need to format user data "SD card" partion??
Also has anyone tried Mybackup Root instead of titanium??

That's not dalingrin's preferred method but that's what I have done and everything has been smooth. Make sure that you wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik. Flash. Reboot.

As far as I read, if you do full wipe, then flash it thru CMW, you won't have any problem. I'm not sure about it.

I just flashed from MC7 XRON over to CM9 alpha 0 via CWM and it's working perfectly fine.

What's the difference between your gapps and gapps-ics-20111125-2.zip from goo-inside.me There's is double the size.

the Google apps on the ics apps flash are tablet apps, I beleive (but am not sure) that the framework these google apps are built on are so different from that of the gingerbread ones that only the ics apps will work

update:- currently cm setting are not included in the setting app but you can use them by creating a shortcut of the setting on the desktop
update 2:- if you are having problem of data not being saved by the app then do the steps below
1. backup all your apps with tibu
2. download datafix remover from link given in download section and flash it in recovery
3. do a wipe data and factory reset
4. start the mobile and restore all the app with tibu
cause:- datafix script is not compatible with this rom. this handles the data differently than other roms don't worry you will not get storage problems.

I think you don't know there is an app drawer, launcher is not like miui one
to open app drawer swipe upward on homescreen

[FIX][OTUS] GApps issue. Indian users. CyanogenMod 12.1

Hi guys,
A month ago or so @sqid2 ported unofficial CyanogenMod 12.1 for moto e 3g variant otus. It was a good ROM everything was working fine. But Indian users were reporting that they are not able to connect to Google. The issue is fixed!! Here are steps how -
1. First of all download cm 12 GApps bundle rather than cm12.1
2. Now go in recovery and flash the zip u downloaded.
3. Now allow root access either by supersu or by the ROM itself.
4. Give in-built file manager root permission. No need of downloading others I felt it very powerful.
5. Now browse through root of u mobile and go here: system>etc>host
Locate this 'host' file.
Just move it in external or internal storage as a backup and delete it from system. That's it.
6. Now login using any Google app and ROM will be connected to Google.
It is so because I think the rom already contained host file and was colliding in syntax with host file in mobile itself. That's why mobile was not connecting to Google servers.
There will be few minor network errors like in speed but you are not going to notice if u are on strong network or WiFi. Rest there is no misfuntioning in system.
Google now is connecting
Playstore and services are connecting
Yes since you flashed cm12 GApps, don't forget to update all of 'em by play store.

Recent button is fixed or not by this fix....?

recent key problem is still there ...gapps fc solved..

Well I too experienced it for 1 or 2 days after flashing but it doesn't seemed an ROM error. I looked in it there is no error in ROM. It is probably an issue of cache or dalvik cache. After few days of usage it is functioning well.

I tried this method but I'm still getting the FC error. Can anybody help me with this?

I checked it first its working well but after a restart.. play services and youtube get force close but play store is working fine and the recent button also stopped working.
Anyone checked it..?

Raghav you need to do all of this in a clean install. Wipe everything cache data system dalvik cache then perform all this from beginning it will work.
And nirbhay try updating them by playstore first report if it still crashes.

I did all of the above mentioned things on my first try, installed Gapps 5.0 booted, updated everything and rebooted the phone, but FC issue was still not solved. But I'll try it again

I reflashed CM this time with 5.1 Gapps and did the mentioned way to fix the issue, though on each reboot it shows the FC message, but after that I don't see any other FC error.

Well my gapps is solved by it. But if you are still have connection problem try installing google stuff mannually.
Download play services for lollipop first then everything else. Hope it works.

I am simply sharing this with others! All the credit goes to the person who made this build!

I reuploaded the build because one had to make several chinese accounts in order to download the rom at only 200 kb/s,which was extremely bothersome and time-consuming.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Wipe Dalvik,System,Data and Cache
2.Flash the rom(it will most likely fail)
3.Reboot the recovery
4.Flash the rom again,without previously wiping anything(wiping directly before flashing it will cause errors while installing,for unknown reasons)

EDIT: ROM works flawlessly, very snappy. I didn't flash the boot.img because my phone would go into a bootloop. ROM works fine without it at least for my device(6045O)

Where is an issue with popup dialog box: background is dark and text too, it's difficult to read.
Whe have to debloat chinese apps and install Playstore.
Installation of open-gapps 5.1.1 work but can't connect to google account.

I used Kingroot it comes pre-installed to remove the bloatware apps try that and google login worked for me.

Yeah,I do not know why Google Play Services wont work with Flyme...
As for the black dialog boxes:It is a bug in the framework,and the maker of the Flyme build for the Idol 3 said that he will fix it asap.

i have problem with installing gapps when i install it's black screen
edit:i tried many times but i get black screen,i tried with gapps 64 5.1 nano and pico and same?

Wont flash if you are coming from stoc,flashed cm sys image and then flashed rom,didnt have to flash aditional boot.img
very diferent from other roms,really snapy,no bugs beside black popup dialog window,it has some usefull apps pre instaled but in chinese (for me thats another bug lol)

I also tried it few days earlier but found heating problem in my 45i. So moved away from it.

im also gettig seetings stoped at welcome screen right after i install gapps,im gonna try few more times and let you know is there a way

Managed to get past the black screen by swiping down sttusbar and somehowe got in settings cleared data for google playstore and services but cant log in to google acc (error comunicatig with google srevers)

OK i will wait

Tried to flash the rom from external sdcard with TWRP but encountered a mount error. Any advice?
Note: appears the error doesn't affect the installation. Nevermind.

i have the same error here's solution
1.flash *you will get fail and mount error
2.then reboot to recovery
3.flash without wipping
4.automaticly reboots when it's installed,turn off and go to recovery and mount the system
5.Reboot System
This the full procedure it's works for me

There are some bugs like can't connect to my google account or use data over the mobile network.

To fix google account and apps install under playstore, you have to comment line in build.prop BEFORE install gapps.
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint= blablabla
just add # at the begin like this:

and then, install open-gapps 5.1.
it work fine for all regions
For better battery lifetime, you can take ramdisk from Flyme and Arde Dev CM zImage.

Any fix for 'Checking info...' and other problems?

Hi,
I have recently flashed my oneplus 5 NitrogenOs, but I am facing some issues. I figured maybe any of you guys could help me.
1. When I try to add a new google account, a new screen pops up saying 'Checking info...' ('Informatie controleren...') and appears to be loading. This screen however, never closes. This way I am not able to add any google account to my phone. It appeared out of nowhere after some time of using the rom, so i currently have my google account already setup.

2. Google search is not working either (the app and the shortcut in nova launcher), it stops loading just before the end.
I am guessing these two problems are somehow related to google play services, but I have no idea how to fix them (obviously).
3. E-mail isnt loading anymore. The mail preview is showing the first 3-4 lines, but when i open the mail itself it shows nothing but the details (sender, time etc.). This occured after the clean flash (will get to that later on). I can also not send any e-mails. I tried this in 3 different mail-apps (with 3 mail accounts) including gmail and they all show the same results. This is not happening on hotmail.com in chrome.
Current phone details:
- Twrp multirom 3.1.1-0
- Bootloader is unlocked
- Running NitrogenOs 8.0.0 (latest build from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/development/rom-nitrogen-os-cheeseburger-t3684946)
- Magisk v15.2 installed
- Flashed Gapps 'mini'
- Busybox installed (don't think this has anything to do with the problems)
- No Xposed framework installed
I am aware of the fact that the 'Checking info...' glitch has a lot of threads/posts already, but i haven't found any solution yet.
Things i already tried:
- Clean reflashing (rom, gapps and root (magisk and supersu))
- Updating google play services via apk
- Clearing cache/data from all google apps/services
- Removing updates from all google apps/services (this was not possible for google play services)
- Messing around with the host file (root/system/etc/hosts)
Both before and afther the reflash the first two problems occured after a short amount of time.
If anyone has a solution for any of the problems I would love to hear it, and if there is already a solution in another thread i would love a link too.
(ps. This is my first post so if anyone has tips, feel free to comment)

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried wiping everything except internal storage and reflashed rom and pico Gapps. For now it seems to be working; mail shows up, all apps open and no google related bugs. Hope it stays like this, but either way thanks for your help!

I finally found out what causes the problems; it's viper4android. After installing the stock version and the materialised version over it the problems occured. Any idea how this could happen or how to undo it? Because i am kinda settled down already with my setup.
I tried uninstalling the drivers and uninstalling the materialised v4a, but the stock version cant be deleted because i flashed it via recovery.
