Stock brand new GS4 from AT&T. This morning, I noticed that nobody could hear me during a call except when I put them on speaker. I'd rather not go through the trouble of constantly during the speaker option on and off just to go through a call. I've only had the phone for a week by the way. Anybody know how to solve this?

Not good...
ODIN back to stock, and see if that helps.
It's not rooted BTW. But that wouldn't have anything to do with having to ODIN yeah?

All ODIN will do is allow you to return it back completely to stock... which is where you should already be, but it just makes sure.
I would take it back to the store. If you are 100% stock something is wrong. Unless you triggered some weird accessibility option, but I know of nothing that would act this way.

I think this may be because the phone is thinking it's connected to a car charger.
Mmm no it doesn't seem to be that. Any more ideas?

Had a phone do this, it was indeed because of a card charger, I never found a way to undo the problem but after a battery pull the problem persisted for a few more calls then went away. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. There is an app in the market where you can toggle between speaker and handset. called settings profile, this may be a workaround for you untill it smooths itself out. Sorry i couldnt be of more help
Hey!
Got my S2 Galaxy yesterday, and today my father called me and said that it sounded weird when he talked to me. Anyone know what's wrong? Or do i have to change something in settings?
And it is like that every time someone calls me or I call them. That they barely hear me. And I talk loud. Do i have to change something in settings?
Thanks!
This is known to be an issue with noise reduction, when you next call try selecting menu then choose noise reduction off.. See if it makes a difference!
Bear in mind tho you can't keep it off for good unfortunately.I'm hoping for the new firmware update to fix this problem

Hi,
I've had my S4 for about 3 days now and today all of a sudden the rear speaker has stopped working. No sound comes out of it at all, including notifications, screen lock sounds, touch sounds and any other sound. I have restarted multiple times but there is still no sound. If I plug in some headphones then I can hear the sound through them, so the problem seems to be related just to the main speaker.
Please help me
Is it brand new. Can you take it back?
Are you rooted? Flash another ROM?

I wouldn't say a lot, but I do use them for an hour or two every night before I go to bed. I used them briefly for about 10 minutes earlier today but the speaker randomly stopped working a few hours after that.
I think I even heard when the speaker malfunctioned because as I touched the screen the touch sound cut out about half way through, though I thought nothing of it. Only now do I realize that there hasn't been any sound out the speaker since then.
Oh because i had that problem lots of times but its because i had headphones in while i switched the phones off or if it went dead while they were plugged in. Then when i restart the phone without them plugged in the phone still thinks there connected when there not so how i fixed it is that i plugged them in and out really fast. Its worth a try but i doubt it will work in your case

Well nothing I tried worked, so I'm guessing it was a hardware malfunction (my guess is that the speaker blew somehow).
I went back to the store today and they gave me a new S4 with no hassle. Just a little disappointed that I spent all weekend setting it up and customising it and now I have to do it all again.
Heres hoping this one lasts more than 4 days lol.

Does anyone else get the same? I have set the voice quality to clear and still the same.
Im wondering whether this needs a warranty repair but would like to hear if anyone else experienced a similar issue

I've got buzzing bad it started about a month after purchase and then seemed to go away for a few months, but now it's back and more annoying then ever. Have you found a fix or its a defect?

I think its a fault. I sold the phone off in the end but im pretty sure Samsung will repair it under warranty
so i have a g2 that is stock and not rooted. when ever im on a phone call every few minutes the phone will switch itself to speaker. has anyone ever had this problem? if so can it be fixed? also im on tmo. thanks.
Anyone care to help?
How long have you had the G2? I have never experienced this issue. My advice is to return the phone to T-Mobile and ask for a replacement.
