whats the difference please explain in details the difference between revolt and pacman
thanx in advance
Very similar... I honestly don't know. I think RB has a few different battery icon options and they both have different boot animations lol

No one will be able to tell you what you will think of how a rom works on your device. Every device is different. Remember This is a development site, which means test it yourself and then make up your own mind.

I just got mines yesterday and I cant really recommend one as its your personal choice. I tried a few of the "tablet" ones and I think I'm going back to stock later or a kang, if I can modify my nav buttons/colors etc.

There's no such thing as "the best ROM". Everybody wants something different. Take your time and try things out. You'll soon find out what matters to you. It took me about 6 months of playing around with lots of different ROMs to finally settled on what works best for me.

BAMF paradigm is a really nice combination of custom settings options (like customizable nav buttons, ability to make them any color, built in battery skin chooser, theme chooser, and more) and stability and in my opinion just makes a really nice well rounded daily driver.

Hi all,
I am the developer of SentinelROM, which is one of the most popular ROMs for Nexus 10, Nexus 7, Nexus 4 and HTC One X.
SentinelROM is compiled by me with modified CyanogenMod 10.1 code (additional tweaks for performance and battery life, as well as some theming). So far the ROM has been very successful.
I've decided to release the ROM for Samsung Galaxy SIII (i9300) also, but I need your help as I don't own a SGSIII to test with.
I am reaching out to anyone who would be willing to flash my test ROM and test a few things for me.
If you're interested, please PM me either here, or via the SentinelROM facebook page. I will reply with a download link and instructions.
I only need a few people for testing, so please don't be offended if I don't get back to you with a download link.
This ROM is for i9300 only at this stage, so please do not reply if you own an i9305 as the ROM will not work on your device.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You know I want to, but as you said on FB, probably not a good idea to do it on my wife's everyday phone
Everyone, this guy turns out a great ROM. I have Sentinel ROM on my Nexus 4 and it's very, VERY nice. I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the plug mate.
OP updated with a download link so you can get up and running right away.
Looking forward to some feedback so I can launch this ROM
Well i am installing this now will let you know how it goes..
Thanks heaps!
how did you go?
I wish I cud try it too. Any chance for us I9305 users to get this? Maybe later when it gets a good rep on i9300? I know you asked us users to not to reply but I cudnt resist asking

Well everything is working as normal. I played about with the rom it is pretty stable. Everything works, and when i fell asleep unlike cm the battery never drained maybe about 3 percent drain overnight which is great. So the battery life on this rom is excellent. You're good to go with your rom. Sorry for the late reply i installed this around midnight. Used the rom and till about 2am and fell asleep. I am still using it. I must say overall it is a great rom. Thank you very much. I've not yet found a fault but maybe i might find one but that would be cm related.
For a beta rom this is really stable. Onlything maybe it isn't a big problem now but in the ota updater lol it doesn't recognize the device as MO.
Beautiful!!!
I'll credit you in the OP. Thankyou very much!

sentinel rom v 4.5 for gt-i9300
Hello, Sentinel.
First of all I'd like to thank you for this truly amazing rom, there's so many things I can do with my phone and change almost everything I want to within it. I only found 1 issue which may not be an issue at all, I might still be a bit inexperienced with all this modding stuff, but I haven't found a way to overclock or undervolt my phone using your kernel, but I took a risk of using siyah kernel 1.9.1 which is said not to be compatible with 4.2.2 JB and basically all new roms that are out now, but the funny thing is IT DOES WORK! And I think that siyah 1.9.1 kernel and your custom sentinel rom is the best combo ever for my galaxy s3. The battery works great even when I overclock it, it's really stable and never glitching. I can say I'm a heavy consumer, wifi constantly on, and I'm playing psone games with and emulator alot and it still does a pretty decent job. On my next payday I'm definitely donating, buddy. And in a months time when s3 stock 4.2.2 JB will come out, I'd like to see what you can do with that one aswell.
Keep up the great work, best regards, Lietus.

Hi Lietus. I assume you posted this here because you can't post in the ROM thread, so I'll answer you here
My official position on over/underclocking and UV/OV is discussed on my website. Have a browse.
Sorry but it's not something I support in my ROMs. People are alwsys welcome to use other Kernels to unlock these features if they want them.
Looking forward to payday
Hey, this is my first post, you did a really good job with this rom!
Is there any way to disable the fullscreen keyboard feature?
I understand where you're coming from and I totally agree with you if we users want we can make it ourselves using different kernels especially when your ROM is that great and it accepts different types of kernels. And I've got 5 different types of android machines which could use some improvement so if you're interested and have the time to expand your ROMs through those it would be just awesome. Because your ROM is actually the first custom one I've tried, and after a lot of research I can't seem to trust myself with someone else's

Hi
I have a nexus 4 with a slightly faulty power button. Dont know how but it is faulty. So i have been using the volume rockers to wake up my phone. But to lock the phone back i have to use the power button.
But recently i found out that CM 10.2 has the feature where you can setup google now targets. I used that to lock my phone. But this deal gets nasty if i wanna use a new rom, i.e. Paranoid Android, which does not have this feature.
So can i please request someone to make a mod that can help me with this, if it aint too much effort and it will work on any rom. Thank you
Try the pacman rom it has features from pa, aokp, and cm

Yea thanks, but i was looking for a mod that works on all the roms. I can use PAC but since most roms have not reached stable versions, they tend to have problems every once in a while in their nightlies, and i like to switch between roms.
And I ask only coz i think it would not be too hard to do somthing like this, but i dont know. Just wondering and hoping here.
Thanks for your reply anyways.

If it is of any help to anyone.
Hello! So I'm sure you've been asked this question before, but I'm curious to see some updated answers since there is a decent handful of roms available for the S4-1337 now.
I am very much an Android gamer, I've been using the sixaxis application with a Dual Shock 3 controller since the application was released; and have been hooking my phones up to TV's since I could. It's essentially my "gaming console".
Currently I'm not running any custom rom on my s4, it's just rooted and using xposed framework with wanam installed (for stock touchwiz customization).
I however have noticed that no matter what I do, I won't get the speed and frame rate I desire with the stock rom; as it's just too heavy on the phone. I'd like the opinions of other Android gamers here about what custom rom they find is best optimized for gaming and overclocking (if necessary). Generally something that's lite but has a lot of customization that I desire.
I currently am a devout player of the Modern Combat series, other games are touch and go once in awhile.
Thanks,
Branden.
I just want to give you a heads up, this might get closed down as "best for xxxxx" isn't allowed.
My suggestion to you is to flash a slimmed down ROM or a ROM thats well known and slim it down your self. Also, the stock Google edition base is a goof foundation. Don't forget kernel settings tweaks!

Oh, I'm fairly new; should have read the rules before posting this question! Hopefully the "[Opinion]" part will keep it up.
Any specific kernel you suggest? I think I may use Cyanmod.

I don't really want to give out names as I don't love to play favorites but since your new.. I'd advise against CM/AOKP ROMs that are nightlies as I think they're not for casual gaming since commits change daily. @task650 tends to put out some stable choices for a ROM based on aosp. (Aokp).
For kernels I've found there is community favorites. Faux, chronic, ktoon. (No order). Try them out and see for yourself.

Excellent! I'll avoid CM based Rom's for now than, and try something that won't be updated too often.
As for the Kernal, will try Chronic first I think.
No need for favorite's, just opinions. ^_^

Good choice, task puts out good work I'd say since he takes the best commits and builds them in, compared to cm night lies were new changes are merged in..till a stable release (RC) build is put out.

Wanted to update you and let you know I did go with tasks ROM and his underwear Kernel. Very lightweight! Though I may flash a different kernel, for better overclocking potential. Decent fps increase while gaming and zero interface lag. Thanks so much for the support febby!

Hi
just got my note 3, after a few days touchwiz just chrashes all the time and everthing was laggy. i figured i just root using the video from here, then i flashed CWM after in odin as a recovery, i tried Echoe ROM first and everthing was fine and smooth again, but now i had problems connecting with the usb cable to a computer. I change to X-Note and all is ok again, but i dont like the widgets, i need music to bee in 5x1 not 4x1 etc... and its too much options for me
i think im looking for a custom ROM thats most alike the original TW. but just faster and smoother with a little more features. like f.eks downloading videos from youtube etc.
Any suggestions?
Thanxx:laugh:

yes man blue and beatiful like an true arian got blond hair too, what else do you want to know... do you like boys? or do you have an advice?
We cannot recommend roms. It is well known here. This is because, what works well for someone else, may not necessarily work well for you. It's all down to personal preference. Example: I prefer to stay well away from TW based roms because they're just god awful (unless modded) AOSP or AICP all the way!

I understand this. and I aint asking for whats the best ROM, etc... If you read my first question, Im looking for a ROM close to the original TW with a little bit extra stuff. I aint asking for whats the best ROM etc. im sure someone know this without me trying every got damn ROM, before i figure it out.
I actually like TW :good:
X-note has the option to switch to touchwiz theme.

The best ROM depends every single one. In my opinion X-note is best ROM for me. You should try some ROM and you will see which is best for you.
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM / Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself. That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion,
and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
