SkyGo - Bypass root check SmoothROM - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know how to bypass the root check on SkyGo app as I have now rooted my device and Sky doesn't apparently support rooted devices,
Any help is much appreciated!

SmoothRom 5.1

Clear the root permission from SuperSU/Super User and then open the app back up. When it asks for root, permanently deny it root access.

Keep root

So I have the app voodoo ota to keep my root access when I do the ota update from 4.1-4.1.1. How exactly do I use this application? Once installed just do the update?
Thanks

once its installed hit protect root, when all the check boxes are checked you can update. After the OS update finishes go back into rootkeeper and hit the button "restore root" , thats it
I haven't touched the app and it doesn't have the protect root option. However, all boxes are checked. Should I be good to go?

Should have at the very least granted it root access. This is what it should look like though when its safe
Thanks! That's what I'm getting

Does 4.2.2 ota break root?

Said something about unsigned or unverified from cwm recovery. Aborted now I'm curious what to do next.

Yes it does, I'm currently having this problem... Rooted, updated ota and now root is gone and not sure what to do

Guess I'll wait till I get home so I can root again. Thanks

I just used the toolkit to root again afterwards.
Toolkit option 4?

Yes. However, mine is the donate version, so I'm not sure if that will make a difference. You might want to check out the thread first.
Why not just fastboot flash your recovery and then use that to flash your su zip?

skygo

hi ive just unrooted and re-locked my n7 to watch skygo but its still saying its not supported on rooted devices, anyone else getting this
Are you sure you're unrooted? Check for superuser.apk in /system/app and su in /system/xbin. Delete them if you find them. You will need ADB to do this since you aren't rooted.

You can still use the apps with superuser installed. Just change the superuser apk to any name then check disable superuser in superuser setting. It should work.
Then re-enable when you require root function.

Yes I had exactly the same issue.....I run multirom now so that I can just boot into a factory clean unrooted rom. It works like a charm!!!! Multirom also shares the kernel from your main internal rom with the factory Rom.........

Just use 'TVCatchup'. It works better. Sky are stupid and don't want to support rooted devices. No idea why, has no effect on them.
CatchupTV is good but skygo contains loads more channels and now there is a sky movies app......Can watch football on sky sports on the nexus while the wife watches The only way is Essex..........phewwwww

Can I root and unlock?

Can I root and unlock my XT907 running 98.18.78.XT907.Verizon.en.us?
I want to start flashing ROMs (Specifically CM10.2) and what not, but I don't have root access. Directions are unclear whether I need to root before I unlock the boot loader, or if unlocking will also root my phone. I tried to root several times tonight, but was unsuccessful, I think this is due to the fact that I was not rooted when I accepted the OTA. Or it could be my wife's crappy computer?!?
Please let me know how to proceed. I appreciate the help.

Is there a way to revert to an older firmware...then root and unlock?

Can I root and install Titanium after I installed update? I declined update but somehow it did it at 1am while I slept.

Yes, the developer updated his root method (can be found in the Android Development section of this forum) to support the post-OTA Verizon software version.
