i have a Galaxy S4 GT - I9505 Rooted with CF-Root, Globe Carrier ( PH ) i cant change the "bootanimation of my Carrier" of my device...
there is no bootanimation.zip on /system/media justs the bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg and the shutdown.qmg( that i already replaced to international s4 bootanimation)
soo how can i change that, someone said it was on the kernel soo i change the kernel, using adam kernel 1.3.3, but aint change the animation, hows that?
I believe the kernels available now don't support bootanimation.zip as of the moment.
What you have to do is to manually replace all .qmg files with your custom boot animation

already did that, to the points that i deleted the old ones, with the newer ones, plus there's no bootanimation.zip on /system/media, so the problem is its either the .qmg files or something i dont know :/
is there a build.prop that can disable bootanimation?

I had the same problem with my Globe i9505.
I found Globe's bootanimation and shutdown animation in the /system/csc_contents directory. I renamed it to bootsamsung.qmg.old and shutdown.qmg.old. If you prefer to completely remove them, adb pull both files first and keep them safe somewhere.

Hi all
I have a Samsung Galaxy mini (S5570L) and I'm trying to edit Phone.apk, I wanna replace the unknown caller picture for the stock android picture, I already managed to do that but I have 2 questions:
1) When I try to replace Phone.apk with the one I edited the phone starts vibrating uncontrollably and I can't seem to be able to do pretty much anything, is there any special treatment when editing system APKs??
2) The stock Samsung ROM is odexed so I know editing and replacing the APK isn't as simple as it sounds, what else do I need to do after zipping the APK in APK Manager??
Thanx for you help
P.S.: This is a wild idea but is there a way to change the TouchWiz Phone.apk for the stock Froyo Phone.apk??

To 2.
It causes issues if u have some odexed and one deodexed apk so u should deodex all apks.
1. Do a logcat to find out what's wrong .
Did u push the file via adb?
And u should sign the apk ...

Thanx man, turns out I needed to deodex the APK before editing (which I didn't know).
I've got another question, since I'm using a stock Samsung ROM should I deodex all the system and framework apps?? 'Cause that sounds like a huge amount of work

I noticed when I installed the Xousos rom it mentions a boot animation fix. That rom is based off of MF9 and uses a regular bootanimation.zip.
Otherwise you have to use Samsung Theme Designer to edit or create your own animation. Samsung uses a proprietary format and throwing a bootanimation.zip in the media folder doesn't work by itself.

You set these permissions right? And yeah should rename the bootanimation file to 'bootanimation.zip'.

ROM? cyanogenmod and evo don't support bootanimation
I think there's a zip to enable custom boot animations. That's how i enabled mine.

Yeah, but cm doesnt support it since the libs, and in evo, bootanimation has been disabled through build.prop
And the zip file you talking about is by deathnotice, look in his thread

This zip will enable boot animation in any 2.3.6 deodex rom
flash in cwm with system mounted
credit deathnotice
I think u have odexed rom then...
There is no bad choises. Only bad results.

Samsung using .qmg format not zip. As usual in system/media. It's bootanimation.qmg.

Hi guys, I've saw a lot of bootanimations and really liked the bios style ones. I've based my own on @NFS_FM 's Z1 bootanim which itself is based on @LorDestinY 's tutorial.
I've put a preview of the bootanimation bellow
For this bootanimation to work you need to flash this (choose lollipop) to enable zip bootanimations to work on our beloved note 3 lite. I've personnaly tested it on the N7505POUDPB1 firmware and can confirm it working.
To install my bootanimation, just put the zip in /system/media and set its permission to 644 (as in the attachement bellow).
Tell me what you guys think of it

Yea, you can put whatever you want, you just have to edit the pictures one by one to show your desired device name, if you need help, I have linked the tutorial I used in the thread
I mean not the bootanimation but the device name itself.Like for example can I change it to Samsung Galaxy Note 7?
