Good day everyone!
Is it the only option to buy the unlock "service" from ebay? One more question, by flashing a rom like CM or MIUI, can I unlock the phone? I am going to travel abroad so that is why I am asking... I read the Q&A post but did not find the answer.
Thank you very much for your answer and sorry for my noob questions
there is free unlock from hidden menu on this forum somewhere. You might want to search.

Don't just look around the Q&A. There are other subforums like General and what not. Instead of posting a question without searching just search. You will get an answer quicker that way.

Just curious as the q&a section is for questions and answers yet majority of questions being asked are in general forums.
So I gotta ask...what's the point of both?

Irony at the asking a question in general.... Haha well the point is organization, questions are supposed to be in Q&A, and other stuff in General. The only problem is that people don't always obey the guidelines sadly.
I think of Q&A as a place for some to ask a question about something they don't know how to do. For example, "My wifi isn't working, how can I solve this problem?" would be a Q&A post.
The questions asked in General tend to be like, asking for opinions more so than asking for help. Just general discussion.
Hi I am posting this just to say more people are likely to answer your question if u post it in correct section. I rarely check general and am always replying to questions in q&a. I am not a mod and I know there is a post that is stickied saying this. But people using xda app or tapatalk rarely see it or read stickies as they are on a separate tab.
Hope this helps.

OP/Developers spend a tremendous amount of time helping us all.
What can we do for them?
1) Read the entire thread, from page one! Our questions are normally already answered in previously posted notes. By asking again just lengthens the thread, and delays the work in progress. And everyone else has to read your question (even though it was answered previously). Using the SEARCH tool in the forum, can reveal your answer quickly.
2. Showing appreciation for comments/mods/themes/ROMs/etc/ANYTHING that helped out, should be gratified by simply clicking the "THANK YOU". It is a common courtesy!
3. When to try someone's work & it helps you or you like it. DONATE to them! They have given hours of their private time developing. Plus, think about software costs at retail. Donating a few drinks to them will keep them motivated to develop even more!
Thank you for taking the time to READ this! I only hope you do 1,2,& 3.

You plan to spam the forum?
EDIT: you had to send a PM to a mod...
No. I was told. Q&A was not correct area.
So put it in General so I can delete from Q&A.

Agree in general, but you'll need to know that the search function on xda is no google. Half the time, it's better to search for something on xda by searching straight from google.

This is a perfect example of not searching before asking questions...it is being talked about in all s4 forums.

Maybe you should have done your research before posting rude responses which don't contain the answer to a "stupid" or
simple" question. I'm referring to the sticky: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320430

@TheAxman is right. When there is threads on page 1 about exactly what you are asking there is no reason to start a new thread. It has always happened and will always happen though. By calling out people you teach them. If everyone holds newbs hands they never care to learn and will continue bad behavior.
The following was my opinion. I am solely responsible for it.

Hey everyone,
I'm ditching this iPhone 5 and moving on to bigger and better things: S4.
A few nooby questions since I haven't been on android since the G1.
I have AT&T and I heard rooting the s4 is pretty hard for AT&T < is this true? Is there anything I should look for a certain baseband or something?
Should I go with the developer edition or the normal S4? What would be the difference of me buying the S4 and just rooting it and flashing a rom on it?
Now, I'm still use to iphone jailbreaking etc and installing apps, i kinda remember stuff from my g1 because i rooted that too.
As soon as i get the s4 I'm gonna root it and is there a certian mod / update i should be going to? What is the most recommended / best one?
Also this bloatware from AT&T someone said I could remove it all with TI backup ?
And about the microSD, I'd buy the biggest sd i can fit if im buying the 16gb s4 what can be put on the sd?
Thanks!

All of your questions are already in most of the att gs4 forum from the general to the Q&A section. It just takes a lot of reading.
