Ok, I typed in the incorrect SIM PIN code 2 times (since I did not remember it) and I only have "1 attempt left".
Now, I managed to find my SIM PIN code and I got in.
But next time I reboot my phone, will it reset itself back to the default "3 attempts left"?
Or, will it be always "1 attempt left" even when rebooting or after powering ON the phone again?
Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 GTi9505.
Thx in advance!

Yes the pin now is reset to 3 attemts again do not worry.
Even if you do 3 times wrong code u can use the PUK code to reset the PIN code.
But in general, whenever I should reboot my phone, will it automatically reset to "3 Attempts Left" again?
Just to confirm.
Thx

No. Pin is reseting to 3 after u put the correct PIN and login to the phone. Not by just restarting your phone.

Ohhhh yeah yeah yeah....Sorry!!!!!!! My fault....
Thats what I meant, so lets say I had entered the incorrect PIN 2 times and then on the last attempt I enter the correct code then after rebooting the phone, it should reset back to "3 Attempts left"
Am I correct this time?
Sorry for the mis-understanding.
Yes.

Yes this is correct.
be careful.
when you have entered the wrong pin for 3 times, the phone want to get the puk(superpin).
and when you have entered for 10times the wrong puk, your simcard will be destroyed.
This happened to my daughter.

Hi, I am looking for some help with my Nexus S.
I recently rebooted and changed to a new SIM, and upon booting I am presented with a screen saying "Enter password to unlock", My gmail password wont work and I don't know what password it means.
So i then put my old SIM back, and it still happens! now I cant get into my phone at all, and cant use it!
I even tried a reset, and when I select recovery in the bootloader, it doesn't work.
I do have Prey installed (http://preyproject.com/), and I did forget to switch it off before changing SIMs, but I entered my prey password and that didn't work either.
Please help!
Thanks in advance,
Tris
Ok i have solved this.
It was Prey that had locked my phone, and I had got the password wrong!
At least it shows it will make it really difficult for anyone who steals my phone!!
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo i9301i from Italy without any service offer. But i use it in Bangladesh. When i tried to use that phone here it say's to give a pin code for network lock. I went to nearest local service center and they unlock the phone in some way but i can't use my Swipe, Pattern lock . I can only use password. It is very painful giving password every time. Here is a screenshot of my lock screen. Can anyone help me about this matter?
Hmm seems that your device is encrypted.. dont know why it disabled features for you.. i suggest wiping data/ factory reset over recovery mode ( vol up + home + power ) to see if it will help. Note that this will remove everythign from your phone so backup important data
Maybe because in Italy is Locked, but i don't think that has to do...
Horrible english but i'm italian

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I had encrypted my phone. Do you know anything about if i do factory reset/wiping data, will it show again a network lock? If it become network lock again it will cost me about 20$

(sorry for mistakes and for my english)
Well, if factory reset does not solve your problem, the alternative that I can think of is to use ODIN to flash stock firmware.
Thanks all for reply. I just solved the problem. It was happening for encrypting my device. After decrypting my device the problem is solved
Every time i start up the phone i get a short boot animation , then have to input a pin number and after that the phone continues to boot.
I would like to remove this option, but cannot find anything on the phone to reset this, a search on the net also did not help.
If anyone knows how to remove this, thanks !

You just have to remove your Pin in settings, and when you apply a Pin/lock again, you choose 'No' when the interface asks you again for the Startup Pin Hope this helps
I have forgotten the pattern lock for my Fossil Q Explorist. Even after repeated tries, it doesnt give me the option to reset the watch.

I acknowledge this is over 2 weeks old now, and I hate to revive a dead thread, but if @drsood (or anyone for that matter) is still having this issue, I found the answer HERE
But I'll also copy and paste the directions:
I FORGOT THE PASSCODE I SET TO MY SMARTWATCH AND AM LOCKED OUT. HOW DO I FIX THIS?
To regain access to your smartwatch, you will need to prompt a Factory Reset.
Follow these steps:
-Enter an invalid passcode 3 times in a row. Wait 15 seconds.
-Enter an invalid passcode again, another 3 times in a row. Wait 15 seconds.
-Enter an invalid passcode for the last time, another 3 times in a row. Wait 15 seconds.
-The watch will produce a pop-up card prompting a Factory Reset. Tap on the check mark, or Done, button.
-Once Factory Reset is complete, you will need to re-pair your smartwatch to your phone.
-Remove the device name from Bluetooth cache before pairing in app.

hey guys whenever i restart the phone it asks for pin or the password i setup and than only it will start the phone, why
is this normal, how to fix this
That's normal.... You'll always have to provide password or pin for the first time after phone reboots. Unless you select none for your lockscreen unlock method
My phone in the beginning asked every time I restarted but now it doesn't ask for anything. Is something wrong?

There's two levels of lock. One is the lock before android starts and second one after boot is finished.
If your phone isn't asking for an unlock password/pin it's possible you may have disabled it. You can enable the lock before device starts by going through the same process as normal but checking Yes when it asks the question. See my attached image for how the screen looks. If you select No you can apply a regular after boot lock.
