[q] sch-i545 ? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I picked up the S4 today in black mist and wondered if it was the snapdragon or the other proc?
Which forum would I go to for this phone? (9500, 9505)
Thank you!
EDIT: I found out it's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T x5 1.5/1.9Ghz on Elpida package (with 2GByte of RAM) --- the program I used shows four cores at 1890Mhz each. So my question for which forum still remains, but I think it would be the 9505 forum?

Usa gs3 selling for $500

Anybody got ideas why this price drop?($150 less than the international version)
We handle our currency differently than Europe. Our dollars are less than euros so it translates to more money to import it.

He said selling for less not more. we have different hardware and therefore different costs for one. second the phone is well into production now. where did you find the us version for 500? also the t-mobile version has the same chipset as the skyrocket that sells for 330. the us s3 is overpriced and i expect sudden drastic price drops. Its being subsidized for 150 + contract for a reason.

they are two completely different chips based on different. technology. if anyone is confused go to qualcomm website. the only difference. between the s4 chips including the 8260a is the modem chip. as far as flashing those modems i dont know... try it and find out just have odin ready

Interesting, im going to continue looking into it. Wonder why theyre using the same model number. Doesnt the t-mobile version clock less? I have the 747 and the 727 skyrocket in front of me. The skyrocket benches 3600 quadrant and 6000 astute. Not sure if these similar scores to the t-mobile variant are due to different resolution. Skyrocket is Qualcomm 1.5 dual core.

if your talking the tmobile gs2 it is the same as skyrocket a snapdragon s3 chip. the tmobile gs3 is a completely. different snapdragon s4 chip. which i get about 5000 on quadrent both chips are clocked at 1.5 but the s4 chip uses a newer technology. which makes it faster and more efficient
The T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T GSIIIs are not using the MSM8260a. They use the MSM8960 Krait chipset. I am unsure of the Sprint because I can't find the specs. I am pretty sure it utilized the MSM8960 as well. The MSM8960 has been shown to keep up with the current Quad-Core processors. Mainly, the Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. If you do a Vellamo benchmark, you will see that it scores very close to the HTC One XL which uses the same chipset and beats the One X which is Quad. The GSII 4G and Skyrocket both had the MSM8260 Scorpion chipset. S4 stands for nothing more than Series 4.

Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 LTE + 2gb of ram

I can see there are new OTA files (around 30mb) on sammobile.com website.
Inside OTA file i have found many system apps with LTE in name and also i have found info that it has been benchmarked by antutu :
GT-I9305. Number model: GT-I9305 Android Version: 4.1.1 CPU Frequency: 1400MHz Location: GB RAM: 2,584 CPU integer: 4,320 CPU "
http://ameblo.jp/povtc/entry-11334314884.html
http://www.sammobile.com/2012/08/22/new-on-sammobile-ota-files
Cant wait till 29th.
Is that not an quad core CPU : integer: 4,320 CPU ?
Mate this is the international thread....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
there is no thread for new device ? whats better thread than Galaxy s3 international ? its coming to UK dude.
Ahh I'm guessing this is the one for T-Mobile's 4G network that's being launched here soon.
Yeah but interesting thing is that the us version doesnt have quad core on LTE
but this one seem to have 2gb of ram and quad core. That would be preety awesome, if 4g network coverage will be good of course..
Time to sell gt-i9300 then I guess, the extra ram will help with so many apps running, and 4G on tmo will be sweet. I think is same with Korean version 4212 quad with LTE

I would would like to see a direct comparison bettween a 9300 and this one. Anybody saw one already?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr4A3mm8AgA
this is the korean but the specs are the same. Korean is the white one. Watch the whole thing look how many apps are loaded in the korean compare to the 9300
Not the best comparison but it shows abit of difference
THings to watch out for, Website, Google Earth, Ram usage, Apps loaded and How he opened gallery up the same time
Edit: Wow I just realised as i watched it again DAMM I cannot wait to get my new beast.
I Saw that months ago, but it the difference also has to be with the lte speed. When you get yours can you do a comparison please? I would also like to buy one but I bought the 9300 a month ago so I don't know. I found a seller, is it trustworthy?

Quadcore-LTE Galaxy s3 in Germany

I believe it will be like the Korean version, thicker because of the separate lte chip, and with 2gb of ram. Do you have any more news regarding this subject? I don't understand why they didn't just launch this version globally, it seems the best of the 2 worlds. I mean, I have 60 mbit/se lte speed in most cities in my country (Portugal) but I was forced to buy the International version which is a good phone but only has 21mbit/se capabilities with it's hspa + support, meaning I only get 10mbit/s speed in speed tests
Also releasing in Australia on the 15th. Will be available in black and grey.

I hope the US gets a Quad/2GB/LTE variant but something tells me we wont since we already have a LTE/2gb capable GS3 :-/
Unless they do what ATT did for the GS2. Release maybe a "Skyrocket II" That would have the Quad with 2gb and LTE.. But I wont hold my breath

I heard it was thicker because the LTE chip is separate as opposed to the US variant where the LTE radio is built into the CPU so it was a bit thicker due to having another component

Not from the specs on my order. not from the specs from anywhere i seen .. It still says 8.6mm thick on all specs. I know for a fact it wont be as thick as Korean version which has a dmb antenna which is a Hair thicker korean is around 9mm... My supplier stated it is the same as international, there is no difference in size. I dont think they will be lying as people have placed orders. SO they would of got the specs straight from samsung before posting them on the net.

I though the same. Paypal dispute on the way.
I think it's horrible that people that rip people off like that.
For us tech minded people it's easy, we know something isn't right and we query it and check hardware etc
But there's many people that would even notice, it looks like an S4, you can download Candy Crush and browse FB so no worries.
For example if my mother bought an S4 and got a chinese clone she would have no idea. 80% of people they rip off probably have no idea. So having to refund the odd few here or there is no big deal.
I respond to myself: it's the HCD Galaxy S4 Legend

Look at your model and google it or simply look at the s5 back side box (if it says cpu 2.5ghz then is snapdragron otherwise it is exynos)
i do own a exynos version and it heats up in the back time to time so i wash it with cold water

Unless they opened it up, I thought the Exynos version was Korean only like on the GS4? (but yeah since one is four core and the other eight, it should say on the box as others have said and should be obvious, additionally the Qualcomm 4G sticker is at the top of the phone like on the GS4)
