Google books after rom change. - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I am unable to read books that were opened in the std 4.2.2 after changing to CM 10 rom. I went back to 4.2.2 and when I select them I just get a busy icon.
Is it because they are loaded from the cloud and there is now a miss match?
I can get new books and read them if I stay in the rom that they were loaded to also I can read my books on my Samsung S3 without problems.

Sorted. Just needed to get my thinking cap on, all I had to do was to clear the data in the settings. Now I can see all my books.

Since my Fire is not rooted, I installed the Drive app on my Droid-X phone and then created an apk file and transferred it to my Fire using Dropbox.
The Drive app installed ok on the Fire but when I try to run it, it says "Cannot find any Google accounts, exiting application" and then it quits. No way to get into the settings for the app.
I'm not sure how to get around this. I have my Gmail setup on the Fire. What other Google account would it be looking for?

Every time I try this I receive the error message "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call customer care."
using this on pc for a long time very good and helpful

Tried something different... I installed the framework, and then rebooted the fire. Then I installed the drive and it worked.

Sky Go is working ;)

Thought I would let you all know that Sky go is working on my SGS3. I check everyday and it's been updated. FYI my phone is not rooted .
Very happy now!
From what I've read and heard Sky has upped the game to prevent the new version from working on rooted devices, good luck if your device is rooted

Forget about what the date says, I check it every day and it used to come up with "Your device is not compatible" at the top, this morning that was gone so I downloaded it and it works perfectly on my SGS3. Anytime + and all, happy days.
EDIT. I've just seen now that they have changed the description in the app and have clearly put there that it is now supported on the SGS3
Date is still the 2nd of July so that obviously means nothing.
I love Sky Go and have decided, on balance, that I'd rather have it than a rooted phone. Annoying, but I've gone back to stock to get it.
I don't think the temporary unroot/hiding root apps work here, unfortunately.

could you please post the APK?
EDIT: nevermind, did it myself. here it is (downloaded directly from the play store):
https://anonfiles.com/file/b141a753ee1187c821a79d0ec41db077
I updated to the latest version and it stopped working so i went and changed to stock ics same issue i eventually got it working today after i realised super user was still installed after removing the app it now works.
From this i guess you might determine that by having super user installed sky deem you as being a rooted device.
Cheers
Tony

Thank you for your reply, Skygo now works perfectly, with a superb picture.
I really want this, but am very happy with the rooted features of my S3. Hopefully a rooted fix will come out for this soon.

ok...I'm officially bored. What tricks can I teach my N7?

So far I basically use this thing as a web browser, twitter reader and forum crawler.
Of course I rooted, themed, installed new kernels, bricked it, brought it back to life, and now I'm back to stock rooted.
So what else can this thing do? I bought a USB dongle thinger but I don't like watching movies on the small screen (I get headaches easy). Give me some ideas?

Have you tried alternate ROMs? If not, I'd recommend Paranoid Android. It's smooth, fast, stable, and it allows you to choose between phone, phablet, and tablet mode for every app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268
If PA isn't your style, try Slimbean or Cyanogenmod 10.
There are a lot of ROMs out there to mess around with.

How about getting tablet mode by installing ROM Toolbox Lite and changing the DPI from 213dpi to 160dpi?
It's under Performance/build.prop.tweaks
You'll need to be rooted though.

Games, news, geocaching (tether it to your phone via bluetooth), use it as a GPS on your bike/car if you have one (I use my phone for now, and you can cache the maps before hand too, so no data connection needed), control your DSLR camera if you have one, setup an andruino system/project and use the N7 as a remote, use it as universal remote in your home (friend is doing that w his Galaxy Tab 2 7"), etc.
Imagination is the limit.

I wanted to post in the other more active ChameleonOS NK thread here, but I couldn't because it's in the developer's section (I don't have enough posts yet). Anyway, I noticed that you posted a bunch of times in the other thread and was wondering what version of this ROM are you running? There were a few links to newer versions in that thread; newer than what's up on GOO. Have you tried any of them? There really wasn't any feedback posted about them either. The only real issue I've had is that I get random error messages saying, "Unfortunately, ChaOS Launcher has stopped". Don't know if a newer version would clear that up or I'm having some other issue. Great ROM other than that. It seems nice a clean, optimized for the NK. And it doesn't seem like some half baked, slightly modified phone OS with a bunch of extra parts like some of the ROMs floating around are. One thing I did have issues with (I noticed a few others were saying the same thing in the other thread) was getting Netflix to work right. I found others saying that you need Netflix version 1.8.1 for Nook Colors using a different ROM so I gave that a whirl and it worked. Also got Hulu+ working too. The version on Google Play says that it isn't compatible with the hardware, but downloading it through the Amazon App Store did the trick. Thanks in advance for any input.
Right now I'm running Gummy Rom....it's extremely smooth but without the customization of the Chemeleon Rom. Also, the Nook Color has been dropped as an official device by Chameleon.

Thanks for pointing me towards the Gummy ROM, I may give that a try soon (especially if they get a KitKat version of it going for the NC). Unfortunately I saw your response a little late and went with CM10.2 instead. It's been running fine for a while now but I do have one annoyance; I hate that app data goes right to the SD card. And there doesn't seem to be a practical way to have apps use the internal storage for that or the secondary partition. I feel that this would slow the Nook down a little and most importantly this doesn't really allow the option for swapping SD cards with different media on them viable. Does Gummy or any other ROMs have that same drawback?

First of all the S4 is a wonderful device.
and yes if you install the Google edition. it supports a microSD with all your data.
You have to installl the stock system apps with root on your device probably.
yes the S View cover works normally with it.
