I know the white setting panel looks cool on the white Galaxy S4 like i have, but remember that the color white on an AMOLED screen will kill the battery.
Just sayin.

Anyone with help or mod on this?

Did i say that i had the white framework and setting files?
I don't, because i use the black version of the Settings, because it's saving battery on AMOLED screens.

target the color.xml, styles.xml and also xml files in drawables and colors folder of secsettings & FRAMEWORK-RES and the background should be in drawable-nodpi of either secsettings or framework-res.apk. After that simply drag and overwrite the pngs

you have the opportunity to make a zip file. ? thanks

FW I9500XXUAMC6 has the original grey light settings.
U can DL here on XDA

Hi,
Just got an S4 and I had thought settings background would be white with black text. Turns out its like its same as in S3 I.e., black with white text.
Can someone help me how I can change it.

Its a amoled display so its black to save battery,
I read somewhere that it was white on first firmware because sammy did't know which kind of display they would use, either lcd or amoled

It can be done yes, you need to theme the background white and change the primary/sub xml files to white text.
Dont 'spose you have a flashable zip? I much prefer the Note 8.0 menus
Or use another launcher instead of TW to change the background to whatever you want it to be.

A launcher won't help. We're talking about menus and things like the dialer app here.

Guess I cannot ask you to teach me stuff (changing the background), but may be a suggestion to browse some forums, perhaps?
I think he mean this.
I know the first dump file (I9500XXUAMC6), has the light grey settings menu.
Yes. When did Samsung decide to chsnge it. In fact I have similar settings background on my S3 as well. Any way to get this back on S4?

Only some S4 markets get the white background. I believe T mobile USA for example. International units are black.

There is a thread in note 1 n7000 on how to change background for contact/messaging/setting/my files.
That's for jb4.1.2. Might not be the same with 4.2.2. It's your phone so you decide.

After changing stock Optus rom to unbranded Australian firmware I lost the dark coloured application monitor widget and gained an ugly blue one. So if anyone has the dark coloured one could you please send me the apk.

I liked it matching the assistive light. I guess I'm picky and like it looking symmetrical. Wish they were both 75% transparent tho. That would make it look awesome.

[Q] AT&T Remove Carrier Label In Status Bar

Has anyone attempted this? If so which XML have you edited? I can't seem to find the appropriate XML referencing carrier ID/label. Help is greatly appreciated!! :good:
Not sure but I would also be interested in this. Have you already checked the Framework-res file?

i think at the moment, that can be only done in source since apktool cant recompile apks for lollipop (atleast i didnt manage to do it).. its easy to recompile and change values on any rom to change the colors.. didnt try porting or building myself, im too lazy

Tapatalk for amoleds screen?

Any version for the amoled screen theme pure black?
I'm not sure if it's legal to theme and then share publicly the modified app, but theming it by Yourself is quite easy. Just play with xml files inside the apk file and change colour values to 100% black, then recompile the apk, sign it, install it and enjoy .
I would theme it for You but since I'm not sure if I can do that without asking the Dev for permission I unfortunately can't.
