i dont think so because i have a lot of photos and i have not found any of them under DCIM.. its empty
same in both external+ internal sd card..
you are telling me this because you REALLY know and have checked it by yourself or just because this specific location is used in previous samsung's devices?

mines under dcim>camera (assuming you are talking about photos taken with the stock camera app)

Saving Apps to SD Card

Am I missing something because I just installed all my apps and I want to move them to SD Card and the option is not there. What's going on?

Due to it having a large internal memory, it has been disabled.
Maybe in custom roms it will be re-enabled.

working flawlessly on my end. :/ .434
btw it says 7.7MB on my end. weird that it says 7.2 on yours
Some one can share this apk?
I don't get the update, try several times OTA or via PC.
Which country's firmware you guys using? I don't see anything here in Singapore firmware, not even those previously reported app updates.
I've checked and don't have the update either. I reinstalled using EMMA to get 434 and remove some carrier bloat so not sure if thats why I can't get the update?
All I noticed from this update so far is that I had to re-sync all my Picasa albums!

this may be a lame question but it may also be one of the biggest concern.
Does sharing the apk file directly expose any private information from the original sharer? I know that photos are in the SD card and all, but for all security purposes is there a proper procedure to copy the apk file out without exposing sensitive information?
or do I just go system/app/album copy and paste it here?

No. App data is stored separately in /data/app/[package name]. Copying the apk won't expose anything. However the updated apk may not be in /system/app/album.apk (or whatever the name of the album app is), but may be in /data/app/album.apk. Just check the dates of the app and the more recent one should be the updated one.

Anyone else use Picasa web albums?

On my gs3 in the gallery app it would have all my Picasa albums separated. Now on my gs5 all the pictures are showing in one big group. I'm guessing it's a bug or something but not sure if anyone else uses this and wanted to know if there's any way to change it. I spoke with Samsung and the told me "that software is written by Google", so obviously they are of no help and don't know what they're talking about.

I know picasa is from Google, but the gallery app is obviously written by samsung.
I don't use it for sharing or tagging, I just use it a free cloud for my pictures that integrates right into the gallery app.
If anyone knows of a similar service that works the same or better I'd definitely be willing to switch.

have you tried DOING anything with your 128 card? some of the stock apps will play nice, but even deleting a picture will give you a "sorry KitKrap doesn't allow sd card access". when I finish a video and go to delete it "sorry KitKrap doesn't allow it", when I use Google Drive and move a doc over to another folder or file "sorry KitKrap; nope!".. I've always been extremely well organized, and I've put a lot of time into organizing my SD card with any files or folders I'll need or use for work, and KitKrap won't allow any of it.. it's actually the exact same thing as when the "LOCK" switch is switched when you plug a standard SD card into a computer, except you can never turn it off.

Actually i discovered that the stock photo browser app only hides images, doesn't delete them. It may just be me, but after taking a string of shots of my daughter and trying to delete all but one, the gallery app said they were deleted, but when i plugged my phone into my computer they were all on the sdcard. Curious if others have the same issue?
Gonna be fixed in Lollipop. Long live sdcards!

Mostly I have all my pictures saved to it. I also transfer movies and tv shows to it on a daily basis. (Download a tv show to my laptop and transfer it to sd card via usb) On average, I have about 5GBs of free space left on my card.
Only ran into an issue once. I tried to delete a folder (season 5 of the show"24") and it claims that the card was "Write Protected" So I went into the folder and deleted the episodes . Folder still remains but its empty. Other than that its been working fine.
BTW I'm using the SanDisk Ultra 128 GB micro SD

I noticed the stock apps dont refresh and also keep a massive cache. I moved a pic folder and it remained in the stock pic app as cache, including full sized images. when I moved my music folder it did the exact same thing.. there's no refresh option. I cleared data and cache from the app, but it must be using some other means to cache, because nothing is actually better afterwards.

Assuming Android team leaves the option intact for the public release. Notice still no sd slot on the Nexus devices in spite of card writes "apparently" being part of the framework now Never doubt Android's hatred for sd cards. Were it not for Apple buyers scarfing up almost all the flash supply allocations for the iPhone launch, the G1 would have had 2GB of flash and no sd slot.
We can truly thank Apple for why Android devices have sd slots in the first place. :victory:

You don't understand the issue. Kitkat took away the app's ability to write/delete any where on the SD card, it only allows full access to the app's own folder on the SD card. I.E. sandboxing it. Apps are still able to read the whole SD card though.

I believe that opens a google photo gallery, which I am not a fan of sharing photos with.
If you try texting a photo, it sends a link to the photo as an album uploaded somewhere
Ah ok.
I do want to find a new Gallery app though. This one has minimal editing abilities. On my Note 7 I was able to edit more extensively and I could edit videos within the app too.
I side loaded an lg gallery app. The ones in the play store didn't do it for it me.
