What ROM are you using?
Did you try to perform factory reset?
Do you have CWM? If so, did you try to wipe data/factory reset and to wipe Dalvik Cache?
If the above failed, maybe try flashing your stock ROM with Software update [KDZ] (KDZ-Flasher).

i never change my ROM,i dont have CMW, it's still original, i just root it.
never, i'll try factory reset first.. thanks.

[Q] is there a way to fully restore the phone to its factory settings?

including formatting the SD card and such, so it's the same as when it was bought?
I bought this phone used from someone off craigslist and they left quite a bit of extra things on there, pics, videos, apps, settings, and when I flashed R4.2, some of that stuff got left behind.
Now I want to start over with a fresh system, how would I go about doing this?
search the development section for odin. they will have instructions on how to do it.
I used ODIN to flash back to stock, then did reset to factory settings but it left a few intermittent directories for tunnybrowser, shootme, etc.
I get the feeling I should have reset to factory settings first, argh
You should have used root explorer to delete all that stuff first

Those directories / folders still exist because none of the procedures you have done format the internal SD. No root explorer needed. Just format it yourself (following ODIN / Factory Reset) using the phone itself via "Menu->Settings->SD card and phone storage".
odin
ODIN has been on file analysis for a long time...any help would be appreciated

This happened to me earlier today, I had to turn off my vibrant and try again.
I followed these steps to get into Download mode.
1. Turn off phone
2. start ODIN on computer
3. plug USB cable into computer (not into phone just yet)
4. hold down both volume keys while plugging in USB to phone
5. Phone should boot into Download mode and be detected by ODIN

[Q] Help needed after leak 3.1!!!

After updating to 3.1 with the leak one. Using fine for a few hours. And didn't rooted. Then ,
There are a lot of massage box said many functions have to" force close" such as bluetooth and so on.
Then I restarted it.
Problem comes !!!
While boosting, there is a massage box said " All pre-install process complete!"
Then ask me to enter a password "Enter your password" and cannot access to the OS. It keep my screen with this page.
And I did not set any password at all.
I tried 1.Re flashing the leak 3.1 via sd card , 2.flashing the FULL PACKAGE via sd card, (which is for 3.0) ..... and both are not the way to solve. Everything still the same, " All pre-install process complete!" every time I try to open the tab and "Enter your password"
Any suggestion ????
I guess this has to do with that recovery_install.sh script that you should delete before messing with self installing recoverys.
You should root your device (theres actually a howto in the dev section), install CWM then do a full wipe (System, Dalvik, etc.) and then install a stock rom from within CWM and you should be good to go again.
Oh hell sorry, just read that you cannot access the os at all. Well then try if you can connect via ADB?
Hard to say what else you could try as you already seem to have done most!
thanks for the advice.
BUT
I don't know how to do now as I cannot do anything with my tab coz it struck at the page "Enter Your Password".I can only volumn + and - .... That is. Cant even log into the OS.
Only something via external SD. (nothing happends when I connect my tab with PC also)
is it possible that you have encrypt your tablet ?
But there is a way that u can do by plugging keyboard and press home.. something like that.. that triggers factory reset

[Q] Galaxy S bricked and no USB/SD works

Hello, recently I've tried to install clockwork recovery in my Galaxy S (I9000B), so I've downloaded ODIN and all the other tools and drivers. But the USB on my phone wasn't working, and it was the phone, I've tried different drivers on different computers and the same result, "The USB device was not recognized". So I've downloaded on play market the Busybox, in hope of getting something done. After installing it, busybox asked to reboot phone, so I did it, and the problem started, the phone is stuck on the booting animation, that one showing the phone model. I can still acess the download mode and the stock recovery, but can't connect to PC to flash via ODIN, and external SD is not possible aswell. I've already tried to wipe dalvik cache and data, but nothing. What do I do?

try a a solution from My Android Solutions
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Most of all i9000B is not compatible with i9000 ROMS so make sure you only use i9000B ROMS

Yeah, I've already tried that, but stays the same. I never got the chance to flash a custom rom because of the malfunctioning phone USB. There's nothing I can do, or there is something that I don't know

Maybe You should try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602877
I simply took off the back cover and heated the motherboard.
It worked for me!
If you still have access to your recovery then just install a new kernel and ROM.

[Q] stuck in CWM

My L7 (p700) is rooted with the V20D_00_m rom and worked fine until I tried to update to V20E via OTA, down loaded fine, rebooted but went straight to clockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.2and that's where it's stuck
Tried rebooting again, same result
before trying to flash the original Rom, I deleted cache, & dalvic cache
tried loading the V10K zip onto my external sd card, the robot falls and process aborted
tried to connect to pc to do a kdz repair using KDZ_FW_UPD.exe, but the pc / phone are not connecting
I'm at a loss what to do, I've searched the forum but posts similar to this don't help as most seem to have usb connectivity, if I had that I wouldn't need to post.
Any advice please from more knowledgeable members pleas

I don't want to seem as if I'm bumping this but I'd like to know if this is chuck it in the bin you've bricked it or a possibility of a fix, surely there must be a way of clearing the memory and starting from scratch as you'd do if you formatted windows.
Problem solved, a friend of a friend works with Android told me to take the battery out, connect the usb and try combinations of vol + power, after 4 tries..emergency mode and full pc connectivity.
Flashed V20a sucessfully

If you go to download mode and you can flash things via odin and it fails, it probably means that you have a defective usb port. Try another usb port and see if it solves the problem.

Hi Mate,
If is restarting all the time it looks like is in contant reset , check you power button , maybe is stuck
system protected
Today it turn on for 5 minutes and I connected it to my pc to access it folder, i tried to delete some files and i got the message that android cannot be deleted the system is write protected. I removed it from the pc and tried to delete in its file manager the files where deleted but they came back and again it started restarting. I think that's the reason why its failing to install a new rom because of the protection. What else can i try?
