guys,i have a problem with my galaxy y,so a few days ago i switched from charging my phone with the computer to the ac and after 1 day i unplugged it and went outside,i didnt check the battery, when i got home i checked and the battery was at 100 percent,i was shocked because it never lasted more than a minute at 100 percent and when i checked the status bar it was showing that its charging,i rebooted it and the charging animation appeared before i could press the power button again,i didnt knew what to do so i started it and left it charge, the next day it seemed normal,i dont know what happened,oh and i have random reboots but very very rare like 5 times from when i got it,and phone is all stock except the launcher because im still under warranty and i dont wanna be scratching my head if i root it and it breaks for some reason,do you know why this could of happened? sorry for really crappy english and this is my first post

Should be a minor glitch in all probability - Try a hard reset (take out battery re insert, home +vol up+power, then select factory /data reset from the menu), if that doesn't work the only possible solutions i can think of is re flashing stock via odin

I've seen these topics before but mine is a slightly different case. Here are the particulars:
It shut itself down when using the Gmail app.
It was at ~84% battery
Tried holding the power button for 10 or 20 or 30 seconds to reboot with no result.
I tried plugging it in to PC to see if storage still mounts but it does not.
I was able to get it into APX mode by holding power and vol down (or up, I can't remember) as it showed on the windows PC that it tried to install APX drivers but failed.
After holding power again it came out of APX mode but nothing displays on the screen.
I don't think its just a busted display panel because if it did reboot I'd see the storage mount.
It had a custom ROM on it and it is SBK2.
What do you folks think? Bricked?

if u have a ROM on it than try to get it into recovery.. Hold Vol down+ power button till screen come on

Thanks for the tips guys. I left it off the charger overnight and the battery died so when I went to power it on today I got the dead battery on the screen. Plugged it in and it booted fine! Phew.

For anyone who may encounter this in the future I'll post this here so searching may help them.
The Transformer shut itself off twice on me with the same issue. I had full (or close to) battery and it shut off and would not turn on.
I believe it was still "on" in some way as after leaving it overnight and trying to power it on in the morning The depleted battery icon popped up on the screen. I plugged it in and it booted.
The second time it died on me I was using skype (first time using gmail) and I had to again wait for it to run out of battery before anything would display on the screen.
I have since restored back to stock (no root or CWM ) and am waiting to see if it happens again. If it does I'll update the post.
hey guys out there i really need your help,
my nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore, and i dont mean something like getting stuck at the bootscreen, in doesnt respond in any way, no matter how long i'm pressing the power button.
display still works because when its plugged in and i press the power button it shows me the battery which is completely white, that does mean that it is fully charged, or? unfortunately that is the only vital sign i can get...
im running cm 0301 nightly with stock kernel, just turned it off this morning and now this
did anyone experiece the same and could help me?
thanks in advance

2 possible solutions, first is the easiest.
1. While it's plugged in to charger and the battery is showing hold in power and up/down volume buttons together for about 5 seconds after battery disappears and release power while continuing to hold up/down volume until recovery comes up.
If your warranty has expired then try second option
2. Open it up and disconnect battery, hold power for 10 second then reconnect and power up.
AW: [Q] Nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore
Hmm, first solution doesn't work, but it once vibrated and the screen blinked for a short moment when I plugged it in after some time, unfortunately I can't reproduce it :/
I already rooted so I might have no warranty at all anymore but if it is a hardware bug they have to repair, or?
I bought it last December.
At least my friend got his rooted i9300 replaced without any cost when it got sudden death.
Actually don't know what to do now :/

AW: [Q] Nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore
OMG, I knew that charging does take long, but it needed 3 hours to get enough juice just to boot up
It did boot, but shows 0 percent battery ^^
I'm gonna charge it the whole night without shutting it down, let's wait until for tomorrow
Nevertheless thank you for your advices

Just send over if all solution not working, don't talk anything on root.
Sometimes they don't care, or don't know.
At least I had send for repair for Nexus One & S III before, and both was root.
AW: [Q] Nexus 10 doesn't boot anymore
Well, it does work now again but only shows 5% battery after 6 hours charging with wall.
Gonna send it in nevertheless, if they ask for root I'll just flash stock and send it

My wife has had her S5 from day 1. Installed all the normal crap like Pinterest and Instagram and stuff and periodically she is getting SOD (phone sleeps and won't wake up). Its happened both overnight and once just in the middle of the day. I was in the camera and locked the screen and it wouldn't wake up. (Notification light continues to blink like normal)
The only way I can get it to reboot is with a battery pull, no amount of button presses will wake it up, which kinda sucks when its in a big case. I've had minor success with having it plugged in and holding power+Volume up, but this doesn't always work
Anyone else have these issues?
-device is bone stock, she doesn't let me touch her stuff

The power button alone will not reboot it nor will power + volume down. Its a really odd issue and I cannot track down the root cause.

Holding power button will reboot, holding vol down while booting will enter download mode and vol up recovery mode.

Had this issue on mine out the box, flashed stock firmware from another region I used NEE using ODIN.
That fixed it for me.
Though I had som trouble flashing it worked fine and the SOD issue is gone.
Since flashing stock firmware can fail se this thread for PIT file is hidden.img.ext4 fails

well mine yesterday got the battery drained over night..
went to bed with 55% and no app running.. woke up and battery was dead.. couldn't switch it on..
plugged in the charger and it was charging from 0%..
i think i had this problem on my S2 and my wife's S2 at the beginning when it was new, like now..
hopefully its nothing.. like before..
My wife had the same issue with her new s5. She went into dev mode and switched off all of the ui animations. Hasnt happened since.
If you go to settings and " about device" and tap it 7 times it should open up dev mode. At the bottom of the dev menu under the drawing section she switched off the animations. Afterward her battery lasted significantly longer and it stopped freezing as well as perfom faster.

Have you tried removing battery?

Oh my this problem seems to be very popular. Anyway, it's happened to me before. Leave the battery out for like a day or two and then try it again.
@myawan
Yea, but just as soon as I insert it again it starts on its own and keeps doing this loop
@MacSual
a day or two ! I already left it for a few hours it didn't change a thing !
You have a faulty power button, a damaged battery or some other hardware damage. My guess would be number 1 or 2.

I was guessing number 1 too, but have no experience with the hardware what so ever :S, I guess I'm taking it to a shop tonight I guess :S
Hi,
I slept last night with ~40% in my OP6T. When I woke up, the phone wont start anymore. I am rooted with the latest Magisk, and latest stock rom.
When I press the power power button, it doesnt even show me the screen where I have the bootloader warning. I've tried pressing the power key alone for 15 seconds, power + up volume for 15 seconds , power key + down volume for 15 seconds, power key + both volume keys for 15 seconds but nothing happens.
I just cannot get my screen to start:crying::crying::crying:
I have also tried connecting my phone to the laptop, I get a "safely remove OP6T" notification in the task bar, but my phone inst identified in the storage..
If anyone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

It's probably out of charge, happened to me and I just left it on charge for 15 minutes and then held the power button and it worked.

Hold pwr and up button for a couple of seconds.
So after 1000s of attempts, its started on its own (on the 1001th ) attempt when I held the vol up and pwr button. It wasnt a case of battery drain as I had only connected it to the system for 10 mins and the battery when it started was 53%.
Is there a way to find out how it tuned off ? some crash logs or something ?
Can an admin please close this thread ?
Yeah it seems like there's an issue with the phone loading up after it's went dead..and I've had that issue a few times where I had to play with it for an hour in order for it to finally load...I even knew it was dead and plugged it up to a charger and it would stay on the bootloader screen and I left it on the charger for an hour or so..and then held the <pwr><vol+> to shut it off and when I did all that I then powered it on and took the charging cable out and it still said it was low battery..so while on the unlocked bootloader screen it wasn't charging(weird)..so after fooling with it summore I finally got it to charge just random didn't do anything I hadn't previously done and all was good. But it seems like this only happens after it dies and I don't Kno if the unlocked bootloader is the issue or what but it's aggravating to have to fool with it for that long.
I think there is something wrong with your ROM.. Are you rooted? If I were you, I'd wipe the phone completely and install a new Rom, redoing the setup from scratch..
I have wiped and rooted with magisk and twrp recovery installed.. and I have zero issues in the current setup..now only when it has died did this seem to happen..oh I have wiped 3x because of bootloop and soft brick previously..so I don't think that is the solution (wipe and clean install)..just weird

I haven't tried this, but from what I've read, using the MSM tool is the only sure way to completely factory reset your phone.. Using anything else could leave remnants in the ROM causing problems..

For some reason my fastboot drivers are not working anymore, the MSM tool is not a option for me.
