I had to reinstall a fresh copy of Xylon after my previous install softbricked. The new install looks quite different, as far as the screen brightness and saturation goes.
Xylon rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046968
Previous version: 2.5.0_20130417
Current version: 2.7.7_20130603
Does anyone know if there was a change in how the display is handled in later versions, or am I just missing something? I could have sworn there was a calibration option, but I'm not seeing anything in the XYE settings for that. Any thoughts?
I believe I found it. Forgot that I had Franco kernel on my previous install.

Hey all, I have a Red lens Motorola Defy. I bought it a while back, it started having the earpiece problem, and when i tried to fix it, it messed it up even more. long story short, i fixed it now and im looking at putting this rom on it, with the jellyx kernel.
I have seen several people in the rom's thread stating that the 22/12 build of the rom still worked with the kernel but later versions of the rom did not, so that is the version i would like to get.
what im confused on is, I can't find any files that say 22/12 or anything close to it in the OP's dl link. also, can i just use the latest kernel build, or is there a specific version of that i need as well?
some info:
it is currently running cm7
I think it is running clockwork recovery (probably pretty old version)
as stated above, it is a red lens version
EDIT: i got it working. I found the 22/12 rom build. turns out i was looking in the wrong folder. for anyone else with the same kind of questions:
-yes you can just flash the cm10 nightly
-no you dont need a specific build of Jellyx (as of 01/09/12)
-yes is it smooth as hell
Hi Everyone,
Sorry if this question has been asked before but I have been having a bit of trouble when I attempt to change any sort of hybrid setting using PA. For example I want to change the UI to Tablet UI. When I hit "apply" the screen acts as if it's resizing but it stays exactly the same size and does nothing. This also happens when I try to change the DPI or settings of any app. I'm running built number JSS15J PA version 3.94. Franco Kernel 3.1.10 nightly.
Thanks in advance for any help.
same problem
I have the same problem on my galaxy nexus gsm. My hybrid settings are the same as before updating but I can not make new changes or revert the changes that I did before updating to 3.94. can someone please help with this problem?
btw did you by any chance perform a dirty flash, because that's what I did and I'm thinking whether it caused the problem or not.
Ok guys, the rom is awesome. Installed it on my HTC One... But: Changing the Kernel is really hard and you cant enjoy it... cause of one bad bug.
First, i installed the ElementalX Kernel for 4.4.2... jep, not usable... graphic-bugs whilst opening apps. Also the start-menue (reboot, power off, etc...) doesnt display itself.
There are black stripes all over the lower part of the display...
Okay, restored the default kernel: Everything good.
Installing all other 4.4.2 HTC One kernels: Same bug every time...
Is there any way to install kernels without this damned bug?

Kernels other than the one included with omni are not supported, as the team can't test every kernel in existence.
If there's a specific feature from a kernel you want, it can be submitted to code review: http://docs.omnirom.org/Main_Page - read the items under Development
Hi all
So I have an interesting aesthetics / theme question. Here's the background: I have a S5 Dev Edition phone with TWRP. My first custom ROM was Team UBs 24jun version. I really liked the look of it (especially the small fonts and icons) but thought it was a bit unstable so I then installed the unofficial CM 10jun version. That worked well but some apps said they weren't compatible with it. So today I experimented with the new UB 13jul ROM. Unfortunately that wasn't too stable so I went back to the CM one. However after I reinstalled CM it looked quite different, with much larger icons and fonts.
Now in hindsight it looks like I didn't do a complete wipe in between UB and CM the first time around so CM must have picked up the system settings including fonts and icons that UB had installed. This time around after a full wipe CM installed its own defaults, which are much bigger. [I have CM on my Nexus 5 and it looks a lot more like that]. The apps that didn't work by the way do work now.
So my question to you all is do you know what UB's settings are for fonts and icons? I would like to replicate them under CM. Is there a theme setting that contains all of UB's presets?
I should also mention I have the full version of Nova launcher which I installed on CM, and UB had it as well. If it can be changed in Nova setting somewhere please let me now.
thx
PS - I tried to post this in the dev section under UB but it didn't let me, so posted it here.

Well, the easiest thing you could do is under nova launcher settings, go to look and feel, you can change the font and icon size there. I believe it only applies to launcher settings, so it won't change any of the system fonts or sizes. For those you just go to settings, display and there's a font section there... as far as I know themed roms occasionally change the DPI of the entire system, to give everything a cohesive feeling, but there are also a lot of things that need to also be modified when you change the DPI, so exactly copying the look of a particular ROM is not quite as simple as it sounds.
Hope this helps.
DPI question solved
Hi
So I figured out the best way to set the DPI is to download texdroider from the play store. It handles it across the board for the device and everything looks great. I set my DPI to 370 btw.
Thx
Hey guys,
I'm running the unofficial Cyanogenmod 11S on my Nexus 4 and just flashed Franco Kernel and am getting weird colours now. My screen also blinks at random times, anyway to fix this without factory resetting? Thanks
Flash your rom again without Franco kernel. It's the kernel that causes this behavior. Just re-flash your current rom/nightlie zip or whatever and it should be fine.

Wrong version of kernel used
I think most likely you have used the wrong kernel or not following installation instructions.
Whenever opt to install kernel, do look into the requirements:
a. for which version of android (4.4.4 ? 4.4.2? 5.0?)
b. what type of release of android (Cyanogenmod (CM/CAF)? AOSP? MIUI?)
c. installation method and steps (some kernels required to flash on top of stock kernel)
For now I would suggest that you find out the version and release of the android that you using currently and just flash the suitable kernel for it. The way i see it, you are using a cyanogenmod (CM), a CM compatible kernel will do.
