Hi, I've recently got a Nook Simple Touch and so far I've successfully rooted it and installed norefresh, but when it comes to getting multi touch i have problems...
a) I can't install Rom Manager or ClockworkMod recovery (google play won't show them to me, says they are incompatible), I've installed Rom toolkit lite instead..
b) When I do try and install apk of Rom manager, android says it cannot parse the file.
c) When I do try and install the multitouch update zip file(with Rom Toolkit lite), it asks me to install Rom Manager, of which I cannot install!
I'm no android developer but is there a way around this?

Dude, what?
Where did you get the idea to install ClockworkMod via google play?
Forum's search function is still down?
- Download one of the CWM img's from here
https://code.google.com/p/nst-recovery/downloads/list
- burn it to microSD
- copy update.zip onto this microSD
- Turn on NOOK with CWM microSD inside
- install update from zip

I am trying to get the live WallPapers to work and I am having no sucess. I managed to install a Livewallpaper. apk and I can view the livewallpapers already installed on the phone but when I click one I get an error message saying: "The application Live Wallpaper Picker (process.android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" I am rooted, using attn1's rom and can download third party app without adb. Can anyone help?
6/28/10 - Updated to allow LWP in the Sense UI
* This assumes you have your phone rooted and have access to the Clockwork Mod to allow updating your phone with unsigned zip files *
1.) Put the file onto your SD Card in the root directory
2.) Access the Clockwork Mod
4.) install zip from sdcard (option 5)
5.) choose zip from sdcard (option 2)
6.) Click on the file you downloaded and put on your sdcard
6a.) If you run into an error when installing shut off your phone,, unplug it from the USB cable, then reboot it back into Clockwork Mod and start again from step 2
7.) Once done installing, go back one menu and reboot system
8.) Upon reboot you can now choose Live Wallpaper in the wallpaper options
*Issues*
The only issue that I know of at this time is you have to use the settings/personalize/lock screen wallpaper option in order to change the lockscreen wallpaper
If you have any issues let me know, I tested this on a fresh clean stock rom flash then updated to add in the LWP.
*Files*
Clean install of the LWP packages (mediafire dot com/?t5mjyjjgnjm)
Select this if you want to install the LWP on a clean install or install without any LWP
Update install of the LWP packages (mediafire dot com/?jjowddzzmdw)
Select this if you used the previous version with LauncherPro and Home Switcher. This will remove those packages and update to the Sense Enabled LWP.

I cannot post links because i havnt been here long but i did this and it worked for me. this is from a post on this forum
i did that but i still cant have live wallpaper keeps giving me error on all of them.
did you do a clean install or the update?
i did it clean and it works fine for me, then again maybe im running a different rom. I have unrevokeds rom from used in the basic how to root aria thread didnt see any reason to use anything else. cat see your error it looks like this:
if you're running attn1s Liberated Aria rom, then the method scristopher quoted is the only known way to get live wallpapers installed onto the aria running sense. the entire thread about live wallpapers is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6953168&postcount=14
i have them working using the first clean install method as well.
ok i have no idea what i just did but after messing around in htc eris and nexus one's fourms and spending 30 min in Clockwork I think I have lwp... only problem.. when I touch the left of the screen in the nexus wallpaper the colors appear in the middle... my wallpaper is zoomed in....
Couple of questions I need help on.
Can we install the updates for ADW.launcher from the market if we are running CM6 or should we download the specific cm6 download from here http://code.google.com/p/adw-launcher-android/downloads/list.
What is the mdip version listed in the link above? Is it for the Aria?
Now, say I have the file from the link above and want to install it.
Can I
1) boot into recovery
2) plug the phone into usb
3) mount the system partition from within recovery
4) use the adb install command to install adw.launcher.apk
If this is a good proceedure why would I get a /bin/sh pm not found error?
Any ideas?
When you install google apps for cyanogen, it says that the Aria is an MDPI device, so I would assume you need the MDPI version.
Ok thanks, of course I tied to install the wrong one.
It did not help to get the right one anyhow. The version listed on the phone remains 1.1.4. after a so called install from the adb.
update: Finally got the update installed. Forget about using the adb install command with CM6 for some reason it does not work. Just boot into recovery, mount the system partition and then push the file into /system/app/ADWLauncher.apk and all is well.
another option is to just install it from the market. The download linked above has a market barcode link. I did it that way and it updated fine for me.
so with the alphaRev X i managed to get s-off, and to get all the way to getting cm7 on my phone. So that´s greath, how ever everytime i try to install something from the marked that is bigger than 4-5mb i just cancles the download, with out giving any error. Smaller apps work fine, how ever google maps, angry birds and so on. Does any got an idea how to fix this?
I had the same problem exept I couldn't download ANYTHING. Try flashing another Kernel, that's what fixed it.
I tried this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301

witch of the kernels did you use? and did you use it with cm7 ? i got a feeling its a cache folder that is messed up. not something kernel releated.
this worked:
1. Backup SD Card
2. Partition your SD Card with Rom Manager (I used 512mb/64mb swap)
3. Install Simple2Ext (You can find it in the Android Market)
4. Open Simple2Ext and toggle on 'Download Cache'.
5. Now, reboot your phone and you should be able to install Angry Birds/Maps/Other big apps.
I have rooted my Nook Touch and found I could not search market. I read several articles and attemped to get Market to search. In the process I removed the vending.apk (with adb) and attemped to install a new market that reportely was working with the Touch.
This prompted several errors and finally installed the new Market, however the Market would not run, only allowing the credit/accept page then returned to the main menu. I have uninstalled/attempted to install via ADB and also used Push with no suscess.
Apparently I am missing some step and now need all the advice I can get
THANKS!

This is a working version of market: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15084704&postcount=51. I just install it over the one that comes with TouchNooter after I've TouchNootered the nook. I copy the vending.apk from my computer to a download directory on my SD card and then, using Root Explorer to access it on my Nook Touch, install it. Works a charm. HTH.
That was the answer! THanks
Hi
my market dont work, and i have not root explorer& file manager
how install apps & market ?
Access market on your computer (PC/Mac/Linux), choose programs, and then enter market. The programs you downloaded on the computer will be downloaded to the nook.
I can't access the Market site; it complains that I don't have any devices registers and tells me to start with the device first :/

Jago, It seems Google has blocked the nook from being able to access the market, from PC. Read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294723&highlight=android+market

Nandroid backup is done inside of clockwork recovery which you can use rom manager to boot into.
Custom roms will usually come with busybox, but if you want to update your version you can download busybox installer from market
Not sure what you are doing with google maps, but if you uninstall maps it shouldnt give you a problem reinstalling another google maps apk manually or from market.
If it says read only on system folder then you have not changed to write access. What file browser are you using?
You can absolutely unstall any of the tmobile bloatware including tmobile tv. If you want a precooked rom that has all of this stuff removed and is stock in every other way then check the link in my sig for my mysense rom. It may be exactly what you are looking for.
