[Q] How to install Google Apps(including Google Market, Google Map, etc)

I am using X8 Chinese version, with Android 2.1.
Unfortunately Chinese version do not have any google Apps.
I wonder if there is a way to install this Apps on phone.

Say what apps you have and i will send you download link with all files.
I have android 2.1 so i will do this just give me the list.

1. Google Market (Want it most)
2. Google Maps
3. Google Search
4. Google Latitude
etc.
if Google Market is too hard to get, at least i want Google Maps.

What version of Android do you have?

Here you goo but i cant find latitut
and i have version 2.1.

Vending.apk is android market.

Install all of them, only Maps works.
Others just show up a empty window then gone with nothing.
Especially Gmail caused my phone reboot....

The Google Android Phone without Google Services makes me feel been F**Ked

I think the russian 2.1 firmware includes chinese. If installing the apk's fail you could try flashing that. Don't forget to backup your build.prop just in case you want to go back in the future.

How flash to other firmware, as i am already 2.1?

You can flash back to 1.6-there is a thread about it in x8 android development
Then change your customization code and then use seus or pc companion to update..

as the iconia dont use sim card.. how it determine our country ? is it from the rom ??
anyhow to make the market think i am in us ??
the market in my country sucks
many items show 'requested item can not be found'
other item will say ' you can not intall this in your country'

I have 2 VPN's here at home one to the USA and one to the UK. If i switch the traffic to one or the other i get the market of the respective country. So you can either run a vpn client on your tablet or at the router level (openwrt based for example) and route the traffic with an appropriate VPN provider.

so there is no other way than vpn ??
so .. this mean the market recognized country from the isp, not from the rom.. right?

yes, i believe so. With a phone/3g model tablet, it will use the MCC and MNC codes of your telco provider to decide where you are and as you move countries that changes so you'll get the market of that country. For the wifi model it will use the ISP to decide your location. Market enabler just faked the MCC and MNC codes to make it appear that you're in another country.

Try to clear market data and cache et run it again. should work.

I get screwed because they think I'm Mexican. I'm American. Big difference. I don't use pesos. Just because I can read the Spanish doesn't mean I'm gonna buy a damn thing until they fix my market.

the market change
but only the currency is changed to USD
i still cant download those apps
it said 'the application can not be installed in your country'
why is this?? is it a rom problem??
i can download every free app in my htc desire even if i dont use market enabler

I have the same probs..
Last day before i tried to root my iconia a500,I still can download from the market and everything running well.. but after i tried to root and make ad-hoc connection when i connect to the market and download some app, i got notice "the application can not be installed in your country"
it`s something wrong with the wpa_supplicant(i used to root),internet connection,or google account ??
thx before..

Since its not your fault and you want to pay for apps, I say just download the 4shared app and search "Apk " ;-) you'll find a market that works

yeah can do this for paid apps, not for the free apps.. like file manager HD ,
i cant understand google, wht they dont allow people to buy their apps?

although my hd2 is rooted (in terminal emulator I am typing su and i get the # sign) and I use market enabler (verizon or t-mobile us) I cannot access certain apps. For example google plus
Any ideas of whats going wrong? I am running the latest Hyperdroid ROM

What is that market says? Or simply u can't find search results?
If u can't find it, use app Caledonia root toolbox, which have options to enable various network provider apks.
If it says app is incompatible try changing LCD density to 240,

Aha I got an error in the post. I mean "called as root tool box." "Called as " been corrected by quick fix feature of QWERTY keyboard of my phone. And spelled as Caledonia.
Sorry for the error.

Either change your dpi back to stock (160) or patch the play store. PM me, i will upload the patch for you if you want.

The Mediafire Link requires a password to download the ROM.
Anybody know the password?

attached. Patched to emulate 160 dpi. Push both files to /system/app/ and change to correct permission (just follow the other files permission in that folder, easier for you)

for work superuser : open superuser app and click menu button , click preferences >> automatic response >> Allow --- soon fix this bug

I have look your posts, I know you port G3 MIUIV4 to your device legend, I also do that ,but i don't know how you fix the mobile signal, USB mount notification, SU , and the black bar in the pull-down menu,
i also use [ROM][Port]Miuiv4 Port For Legend - Beta 1.1 ,but the theme can't change, could i join you ?

for compatibility with other applications on the tablet I need to use the older version of Gmail.
I know where to download it.
But I do not know how to do it automatically has not updated to the latest version of Google Play.
The application can somehow separate from Google Play?

Yes you can sever the app from the Play Store by re-signing the app. I can do for you but, which version of Gmail do you want it done to?

You don't need to "re-sign" anything.
Download the apk from apkmirror. Uninstall Gmail, or if it's a system app go to settings- apps- Gmail and uninstall updates to replace with factory version your phone came with. Install Gmail version you downloaded. Immediately go into play store for Gmail, click 3 dots at top right and uncheck the box to auto update.
If anyone modifies an apk and gives it to you, I would not trust it. Could have a backdoor or keylogger or something.

Thanks for providing an alternative.
Though, I never stated that resigning it was the only way. I only knew that way and thought it was a simplistic way of doing it.
Now I know of another way.
