Hi,
for compatibility with other applications on the tablet I need to use the older version of Gmail.
I know where to download it.
But I do not know how to do it automatically has not updated to the latest version of Google Play.
The application can somehow separate from Google Play?

Yes you can sever the app from the Play Store by re-signing the app. I can do for you but, which version of Gmail do you want it done to?

You don't need to "re-sign" anything.
Download the apk from apkmirror. Uninstall Gmail, or if it's a system app go to settings- apps- Gmail and uninstall updates to replace with factory version your phone came with. Install Gmail version you downloaded. Immediately go into play store for Gmail, click 3 dots at top right and uncheck the box to auto update.
If anyone modifies an apk and gives it to you, I would not trust it. Could have a backdoor or keylogger or something.

Thanks for providing an alternative.
Though, I never stated that resigning it was the only way. I only knew that way and thought it was a simplistic way of doing it.
Now I know of another way.

I think the russian 2.1 firmware includes chinese. If installing the apk's fail you could try flashing that. Don't forget to backup your build.prop just in case you want to go back in the future.

How flash to other firmware, as i am already 2.1?
You can flash back to 1.6-there is a thread about it in x8 android development
Then change your customization code and then use seus or pc companion to update..

Since my market application was updated to the new "windows phone metro style" market, I am unable to update Google Maps application.
I keep getting the message that "a new update is available for "[email protected]"" and when I tap on it, I see that there is an update for Google Maps application. Unfortunately, I cannot proceed to the update because the market says that my device is incompatible with the application. Of course this is not possible, because I already have it. See the attached pictures for yourself.
How can I fix that? Any ideas?
Thanks!
If your device is rooted just install market enabler from market, change provider settings and then try again. It worked for me...

My device is not rooted and I do not wish to root it.
This problem shouldn't have occurred. It doesn't make sense to me...
How does the market say that the application is not compatible, while I already have it?
This may help:

I know, I also have this problem on some apps...Maybe it is a bug from updated market.Try uninstalling market updates to revert to the old version, that worked sometimes too...
Thanks for your replies. I still can't find a way to fix it.
The odd thing is that on market.android.com the application looks compatible and I can even push it to install. It doesn't seem to do anything on the device, though...

That will probably work...
With the old version of market, I would hold tap the update and another menu would appear on which I have been selecting "Update". This menu does not appear within the new market...
Download the update from here, and it should give Market a kick up the backside, and hopefully sort it:

Hello
I want to uninstall and remove and spotify app which came pre-installed with the phone. I am using S8 on Rogers network in Canada. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Have you tried disabling the apps you don't need? If you haven't, then long press on the shortcut and pick "app info". There you will find disable button(if not grayed out). That is the easiest way off turning off the app which won't show in your apps anymore, but it won't uninstall it.

However, I have my own apk and wouldn't install saying the system already have file with same name. I can disable but it will not solve my problem. Any work around or ways to remove the preinstalled spotify files?

I have not tried it personally, but check this tread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294 There could also be other methods/apps that would help.
Try clearing app data than uninstall updates, this can be found in settings/apps.

Go to apps then click Spotify then click storage then clear data and cache.
If you want to remove the pre installed version you need to be rooted to remove system apps.
The all you have will be the same as the one pre installed. You can always download an updated version.

Not if its a hacked version of Spotify.
I see no reason why someone would disable the included Spotify app to load "their own version"
The included app can be updated right from the google play store, so there is no reason someone should be uninstalling it to install a .apk version.
I am on a Rogers S8, so I know this is true.

Check out this XDA article. It details instructions to remove apps/packages without root, using ADB. Be super careful doing this or using a package disabler app Like BK Package Disabler or Adhell (which is free)...if you disable the wrong system package you may end up disabling important functions/features.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
What you can do is only disable it. That's what I'm doing with texture also and zone. Don't flash XAC if you are still a Rogers user you will loose wificall and Volte.
Only time you can remove it completely is to root. (Not available)
Or flash the XAC but modify the feature file in XAC to add the lines to enable wifi call and Volte. And again not possible cause there is no root yet.
So it takes you back to the 1rst and only option and don't try any even when they claim it uninstall without root(it does not work with Samsung phones )
Just disable it "I think you know how hold the app icon and you see a popup to disable"
If you rebooted the phone , app will not show to show it back enable it again .
When any app is disabled you can't download the app it will tell you it's available unless if it's a higher version.
So if for some reason you want to have a clone " exemple disable original Spotify to download a cracked ) use apk unpacker and change the signature name on the cracked apk.

In this case you can't, disabling a system apps such as Gmail will still refuse to overwrite with modified signatures.
You can do it with Youtube Vanced, it uses a different package name that doesn't interfere with the original Youtube, you need a similar solution for your other apps.

Adb uninstalling doesn't uninstall anything, it's just a forced way to disable packages which works on system apps that have the greyed disable button, it won't help in this case.
