I will try to do this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477.. i already downloaded odin and trying to download stock from the Philippines but im afraid to do it.. Do you think it's safe to do this?? My current version is 4.3.. Is it okay to do this with my current version??
Or is there any way update my phone without changing rom..
Download your region rom from sammobile.com. Install "mobile odin pro" in your smartphone. Copy extracted rom tar file to your phone internal storage. Flash it with installed MOD Pro and you will have updated 4.4.2 rom with root privileges.
I had problems with CSC and force closing keyboard after update. But later solved it by flashing again just "cache" with MOD Pro.

I should be save the thread is trusted. Don't forget you can't downgrade so if you're on 4.4.2 you can't go back to 4.3 or lower
Hey guys,
I've got a very simple question.
I have the lg g2 d802 and i updated it to the latest firmware. (screenshot)
what if im going to root my device with ioroot, will it brick, is it safe or is it even possible to root?
Im a little unsure about this.
Thanks
You can root, it is safe, but know one thing, its not recommended to OTA update afterwards...
But when i installed the Kitkat update, i did do an another update. Thats the OTA update right?
Im kinda noob now xD
I bricked my galaxy s1 ones but you could unbrick it with a usb jig so i couldnt care bricking it xD. But not with this phone and i dont have twrp recovery.

Only if you don't have a recovery custom.
However you might loose the root by updating.
Hey. So I've got a newly rooted S5 here (Exynos version). And I was wondering now that OTA updates won't function (rooted), how to get those updates ? And the consequences, Do I lose root after updating ? Can it harm the phone or anythn ?
Thanks in Advance
You've to go back to Stock firmware..
Then you'll able to receive OTA updates..

I understand. But apart from the OTA updates on the phone, There is Kies. But I'm not sure about the consequences and all.
If you update via kies you will loose your root but im not sure kies will let you update with a rooted rom.
Never used kies cause its trash

Nope, I've done it once and lost nothing, was pretty quick and straight forward actually, even kept my current settings.

Hey all, as a new galaxy user I wonder if anyone has a solution to my current problem. I have a rooted S8 with the stock rom installed.. However it won't let me update at all including OTA. I wonder if anyone had a solution or workaround they could direct me to?
Thanks in advance!
there is no workaround... to make long story short, - just download latest firmware for your device and flash via Odin, re-root.
