So i just received some money i was thinking about getting a tablet so i was looking at the nexus 10 still worth it?
I just got mine a week ago. I love it. I have both the N4 and the N7. I wasn't planning on getting the N10 but a friend of mine made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
The display is something you have to see to believe. If you are in the market for a 10" tablet you'd be hard pressed to find a tab with this resolution and SOC for the price. Not to mention its a Nexus.

Best Android tablet on the market.
I'm happy with mine, it may the best Android 10" tablet right now. With such a strong developer community supporting it, I'll probably have mine for a couple years before I worry about replacing it.
Man cut it out with the screen he has to see it to belive it .
It s normal screen with very good clarity but the blacks are really bad in compare to the espectations. it s a nice screen when you throw an image to it but not perfect . The collors are not that good and it suffers from light bleed .
Nexus 10 still worth every penny now BUT only if you get a unit without problems . I hope now things has improved in the Quality Control departament .
If you get one with problems, you pay for a nightmare .

light bleed is placebo
colors could be better, i agree
Test for power issues, those will be the hardest to get fixed. Took me months to get mine fixed.

What kind of po issues are you referring to? I own a Nexus 10 since yesterday. I noticed that it loads the battery really slow. If it is plugged in during normal usage, it just keeps its battery level. Are you talking about that?

Get use with that ... You will charge it in 6 hours from 0 to 100
Patience first 2 3 cycles ... Healty for battery

After a bit of use (or some games), the battery level becomes "stuck" (or while asleep a while), and plugging/unplugging a charger reboots the device. THEN and ONLY then will it show the correct value.

I've never had this problem. I received this unit the week the device was released.

I believe that it's up to the app itself to keep the display on, so depending on what you're trying to play, you may want to try a different player.
Its on YouTube its self the device has went completely dead I can't even turn the screen on now. I've loved the Google brand since owning my first android phone the nexus S but this has put me right off it.

I don't know a lot about Android, apart from rooting and flashing ROMs, and I need help with this issue. My 16gb nexus 7 has a pixel-wide black line going across the screen, dead center. Just showed up about 2 hours ago, while it was setting on my bed. I restarted, and the line was there during the Google logo and boot animation. I am running paranoidandroid 2.54 with m-kernel. Any ideas on what caused it or how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Correction: I am running motley kernel. And the line seems to be changing colors so I don't think the pixels are dead. My guess is that its software.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Try a different kernel and hope and pray bro....otherwise its a warranty deal.

Yeah its only the beginning of the inevitable. Your screen is going bad. It will get worse. Return to stock and rma.

Any preferred method of returning to stock and unrooting? I have the nexus 7 toolkit, but I'm not sure what's best. I'll check the forums as well. Thanks for the help!

i have a line across the screen too but it flashes a yellow one. the pixels are still working (shows all available colors) but sometimes a yellow line flashes constantly
I tried factory reset, change kernels, roms, etc. but the problem is still there. also i opened the device and tried to check a few connections but nothing changed. by the way, the line only shows up at the same spot, never changes. sometimes it crosses the whole screen but it usually shows up partially
is my screen counting days to drop dead? is there a fix?
Rma it and don't tell them you opened it

a short after posting here, my nexus 7 dropped from my computer box (about 1,5 meters). the screen did not cracked, no damage anywhere.
the damn yellow line was still there BUT not for a long time. I just blinked a couple of times and disappear. As you can see it was a few days ago and i didn't see it anymore since then
I don't know if it was luck or a miracle but actually it worked! my problem seems to be fixed so far
I would like to thank anyone who helped me out in this thread. I received my tablet today and its a brand new one. All the problems are fixed and it even feels heavier than it used to. And its sturdier. Woot!

One thing that annoying me on my nexus 4. You can see on the left of my screen, straight dark line from top to bottom. I haven't drop my nexus before. It appeared on dark colours especially grey colours. For your info its start to appeared when 10 minutes screen on after about 20 minutes screen off. Is it normal? Anyone here have the same problem?

Holy damn. I was just about to make a thread. But mine can't be screenshot. Its seen just like you said and I can flick the different home screens and it stays in the left I've flashed back to stock and still there. Been a week. It got less noticeable when used less. I'm wondering if its because I'm near a big subwoofer in my living room. I know TV used to do this like a bleed line. Have you heard any data yet??? I will send mine back. Please let me know...

Here in Pakistan. I'm going to buy a 2nd hand/used Nexus 4. obviously the display, screen etc won't be NEW. But what do I have to look out the MOST for getting it. How to check :-
If the Screen is not replaced? (Touch responsiveness etc)
Battery ingenuine or heavily tampered
If the display is bad or put to bad use?
What you should do is get the cheapest one you can find and make sure it is covered under warranty. Then call google, tell them you got your nexus as a gift and it is not working right, and they will send you a new one. My friend did this and it worked flawlessly.

The first thing you should look out for is whether the device is legit or not. You can do this by looking at the model number on the box. You can also check the kernel, model number, baseband, android version, etc via the phone's settings. All current nexus 4s should run android 4.2.2. To check the internal hardware, I would run a benchmark. If the benchmark score is close or higher than the one listed, then the device should be legitimate. As for the screen, look around the bezel for imperfections and signs of damage. The screen should be black when off, not gray or greenish. However, not as black as the actually bezels and chins. Play around with it, if its genuine it should be responsive.
Lastly, for the battery, you should try charging the device and if the device becomes warm or too hot the battery may have been changed with the wrong MaH and can be aftermarket, possibly able to do damage to your device. If it isn't hot during charging, ask to try out the phone and play games. If the battery life is acceptable, go for it.
Keep in mind that the nexus 4 tends to get hot when running intensive apps. This is normal. Try out the call quality and reception the device could have a damaged radio or speaker and such. Hope this helps.

Yep. Ordered 7/10 got it today 7/12. Opened it. Plugged it in. Nothing. Did the steps that googled emailed me. Nothing. Screen just flickers when trying to turn it on. Awesome. Don't you love when you pay for something, it comes and doesn't work at all??? Guess it has to happen to somebody! So at least I won that... Will update on how long Google takes to send another one.

Many people have the same manufacturing issue... It just didn't usually kick in this early.
There's two things this could be... Assuming you haven't already sent it in.
If the screen is kind of like an antrace and noisy, then it has zero charge and needs desperately, a few hours electricity.
If it only flashes like you say. There is a common issue with nexus 7 issue where the cable hooking the battery to the device becomes detached.
The easy fix I would do in your position would be to slip it open and reconnect the cord, as it is in the front. The case is also very easy to get off with a flathead screwdriver, or from dropping it... Not the best design. I did alot of research when mine was bootlooped and very certain that is your problem. Hope this helps if you didn't send it in xD
Don't mess with it....send it in. Better to wait and start with a fully functional device, not one you had to fix to make work!!

Amen to that! My level of fixing tablets and phones is pretty high. Just got done replacing my Nexus 4 screen. Anyways, point I'm trying to make is... Open box and DOA? I don't think so. Already have the RMA process started. Hopefully this one will work. Should get it on Wednesday.
Crappy part is, this was a birthday gift that came in just in time. Too bad it doesn't work!
