hi,
i rooted my galaxy s2 lastnight to be able to freeze certain things on my phone. I am returning the phone to vodafone and I am unsure if they'll excahnge it. I have the yellow triangle on start up. My CSC code is VOD
Also says:
PDA : I9100BUKG2
PHONE : I9100BUKG1
CSC : I9100VODKE2
Build Info : Mon Jul 4 16:02:12 KST 2011
I have only had the phone 3days and it was a new handset. I haven't flashed it or installed any updates or roms. Justed rooted to allow me to freeze apps. Have I voided my warranty? If I have what do I need to do before sending it back?
Any help is much appreciated as I am a complete beginner when it comes to Android.
Kind regards,
Mark
Warranty void .
You have flashed the phone with root kernel .
Flash original saved rom or flash Vodafone rom from providers firmware thread in Dev section.
Or flash Samsung stock rom .
Stock Roms .and csc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Remove warning triangle and reset custom rom counter to zero with USB jig .
Custom Rom Counter .

flash stock kernel or better yet get a jig or make one yourself and use it, that would reset the "custom binary" counter and remove the yellow triangle, or you can go ahead and find your exact rom and flash that, then a reset, but the counter would not have been reset, all depends on whether or not they check that kinda thing.
next time know your way back before you go down that road
which one is ideal for me to download? im looking at them all and have no idea. thanks for your help

* HERE * are the operator branded ROMs
You we still require to use the USB jig to reset the custom kernel counter.
I did hear something like we won't be able to flash ANY stock ROM via ODIN again if you have Warranty bit set to 1? I didn't try yet however. Can't risk it. But what I think is we won't be able to flash those earlier builds with the older boot-loader. Or how is it really?

Bricked? Did u need USB JIG to boot into download mode?
Try full wipe to fix battery issue. Or custom ROM.

you can flash stock rom .. here are instructions http://theunlockr.com/2013/10/13/how-to-unroot-the-samsung-galaxy-note-3/
you will not be able to flash stock rom when it warranty bit 1, this afternoon I tried to take it to samsung service center Indonesia, but they could not flash the original stock rom, because the ic flash is broken and they replaced the motherboard for free, and now I am just waiting for 3 days
@semeru
Your experience was a little don't make sense, was that so easy to break the IC with only warranty bit =1 after flashing stock rom and root it???
sammy was crazy to make such a low quality device, if this make sense, then you really freak me out because my warranty bit = 1. by the way how you could get free replacement if you got warranty bit=1? As I know Indonesian people always looking for someone mistake for not claimed a free warranty.
Here's for you :
I've root my note 3 N900 since XXUBMJ1 XSE and set everything into custom then I downloaded a full firmware from sammobile XXUCMJ7 XSE and successfully flash via Odin without fail and everything fresh like a new device. and Now I've rooted my N900 with XXUMJ7 XSE and warranty bit = 1.
My root method was flash CWM via odin then install superSU via CWM. Now if in the future I want to flash a new firmware, did zi get the same problem as you got? :crying: Please advice
sorry I also do not know, people in samsung service center said just like that, she said flash ic damaged, because I was flashing a rom via Odin many times and get the warranty bit 1. but i think she dont understand about warranty bit 1, because she does not discuss at all about warranty bit 1, they alone just can not re-flash the original rom, then they ask me to replace the motherboard that I offered for free because its still guarantee, so they can re-flash original rom, I was a little lie, I told her I bought a used note 3 from a friend, and never know about root. so i'm save

Hey mate! How is battery life on XXUMJ7? I am still on Stock MJ6 Rooted with Warranty bit = 1. Upgrade? Battery life better? thanks
@Stanley
No change but a little smoother on touch screen, but battery looks worse than XXUBMJ1, playing Temple Run OZ 1.6 a little fast draining battery life. I've trying to minimize battery draining by disable unused application in app manager like trip advisor, S-Health Samsung Link, Samsung Watch On, and S-Translator, and other application that seems useless until my RAM run at 1.16Gb than the first 1.77Gb. Then find running application that were not useful but always running at startup, but keep in mind if you disable an app, then you cannot use a related app you have enable it back.

@semeru
You're really smart with that reason
Ok, there's no other way but to believe on what you said. My N900 now be the same as yours.
By the way, you flash what kind of ROM??? last week I just flash this Original XXUCMJ7 XSE to clean the my root and make a fresh install.
I haven't trying flash odexed ROM.
i got this warranty bit 1 after flashing that file via odin, maybe its contain its new bootlader, and i got bootloop on samsung logo, all i can do is just flash custom rom from dr.ketan.

Yes Correct, I've got that warranty bit = 1 because of that, Flashing a new complete ROM XXUCMJ7 from my last rooted XXUBMJ1.
Really damn that sammy, this will kill all cynaogen team, hope they getting smarter too.

@stanley
If sammy said that flash IC is damaged and you get change into a new board, Now I have just tried flash a modem via Odin and it flashed successfully. if they said flash IC damage, we couldn't flash anything include CWM and modem.
I just want to go back to stockrom, just because I want to sell this note 3 and want to buy xperia z1 instead. I was very disappointed with the samsung, so I try to re flashing at authorized service center.
edit: yes i still can flash CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900, n900-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.4(1025), modem, csc, even my note 3 in a bootloop, but i just can't flash stockrom
@semeru
That sad you dissapoint with note 3.
Maybe me too, battery is going down a liitle fast. and sammy now playing with warranty bit that real scared user who want to mod their phone. really dissapoint, sammy don't realize how great modifying phone. modifying firmware always better than original stock firmware.
Thank you semeru for info. :cyclops:

One last question, what was the meaning of a bootloop???
no, i really loves this note 3, first i want to root my note 3 cause the battery life is worst, my note 2 is much better battery life, then after rooting it, i lost wifi, so i tried to flash stockrom, and i got this warranty bit 1 and bootloop
my fault because i'm not reading about why my wifi didnt work, but if you lose wifi, you can try in a build.prop ro.securestorage.support=true - change to false.
I actually do not really understand the languages of android, but as i know bootloop is you just stuck at samsung logo and can not boot into system
EDIT : hey, this afternoon samsung send sms that they finished and replaced with a new motherboard on my note 3, when I check the warranty bit 1 in download mode, no longer exists, but the current binary : samsung official , system status : custom but no root, and software update says your device has been modified. software updates are not available. bootloader N900XXUBMI5
I just bought my Exynos N900 phone and I'm about to flash a stock ROM just to have the latest version.
My Warranty Bit is 0 yet. Do you say that after flashing a stock ROM that would increase anyway? And if it goes to 1, I'd never be able to flash a Samsung ROM again??? WTH?
By the way, I'm in MJ6 as it came with the phone.
Thanks
if you have warranty bit= new boptloader(MJ7 bootloader) you only able flash stock MJ7 And newest roms cant able to flash old roms because u have new bootloader
Sent from my SM-N900 using xda app-developers app

Althought I'm on MJ6. Let me see if I understood. I'll be able to flash newer Samsung ROMs but wouldn't be possible to flash older ones? That's how it goes?
Or I'll never be able to flash any Samsung ROMs, neither older or newer?
I bought a new N9005 (Model : SM-N9005ZKEBTU ).... and Installed latest Kitkat (Poland) via ....
Now I just want to root it.... no custom rom etc, just wanna stay on stock for a few months ...
How can just root it.... where can I find the stock kernel which can make it root (Like I did in my previous phones like S2, Note, Note2 )...

Not a problem, it is easy to do. But you will trip the Knox counter. And you will not be able to return to 4.3 to avoid doing so.
AFAIK from all the posts (probably several hundred in 20 threads or more) you made a one-way decision by upgrading to kitkat.

I knw I wont be able to come back ... but sooner or later we hv to be on kitkat,,,, and I think this kitkat (poland) has no problems as long as it is stock...
Plz tell me an easy way to root it, like any kernel flashing whch make it rooted ? There r many customs roms with kitkat but I dont wanna try custom roms for few months
Basically I have a lots of data backup stored in titanium backup root (From my last Note2)..... wanna restore many apps with data from that
Also if I unroot it by flashing stock kitkat again, will it reset my knox counter?
The best way to root remains cf_autoroot, but it WILL trip your knox warranty bit.
Currently there is NO way to root KK without tripping Knox.
Hi guys,
I have always flashed my HTC phones without problems or weirdness at all, now i buy my first samsung and all of a sudden i read samsung is putting in all kinds of weird crap in my far to expensive phone because they feel i should use or need knox. They need to make good phones and not care as to what i run on my phone IMHO
I read alot of stuff on here about people bricking their phone so i had a few questions to clarify things. I really really DONOT want to render
my note 3 useless. First about Knox: I don't care about any flags, knox or company's at all, i bought the note 3, it is mine and i would like to do with it what i want not what samsung thinks is right for me hence Android. I donot lose any functionallity after i tripped knox right?
So i understand that this knox thing is just a flag? Other then that i can forget about it and just root and place a rom of choice?
What about that thing called binary flash counter (not even sure wy my phone has it or need it), do i need to do anything with that? Also i read 4.4 peeps can't get back to 4.3 this is wy i killed automatic updates on my device for now.
My current firmware is MJ7 and basicly i don't want or need kitkat (atleast not now). So which exact files do i need to use chainfire's method of rooting my device? After that which exact recovery do install and how? Odin or via the market GOO apk thingy? so i can install rom's like x-note v7 or one in that trent? I am leaning towards TWRP although i always flashed on CWM. Can i for instance just flash 4.3 roms once i got TWRP newest version?
Just want to get this all over with so i can enjoy my phone 100% and not 50. I also need to get rid of all the crap samsung put on my phone (stuff i didn't ask for) and no i don't want their music, movies or appstores. Any help is appreciated.
I think a good guide with up to date links for my firmware would help a lot. Not just snippets everywere across the board.
1) the EXACT files i need to root my phone.
2) the EXACT TWRP version (can i just get newest one for 4.3 roms?) i need and how to put it on my Note 3 Odin or with the GOO apk thingy.
after i do have the thing rooted.
3) the zip rom file were do i put that? internal SD card or on my external one or does it matter?
Thanks in advance!
Have fun...

and if you want a tw kk rom you have to flash tw 4.4.2 stock 1st then root again all a bit of a pain

Hey guys, my warranty is nearly finished, so i want to start flashing.
I come from a Nexus device so things are a little bit complicated here.
So what i must do in order to flash a custom rom? Unlock the bootloader ? My device is already rooted.
I'm on Marshmallow BTU 6.0.1.

U simply need to select suitable custom rom for your device as per your mobile specifications like mine is Samsung Galaxy S5 g900f. U need to check your mobile for its full name (most imp is g900f part). When u r confirm on which device u have, now u can select the custom rom for that specific device type only. After u download a rom, u need gapps as well whose link is normally provided by the developers alongwith their roms. After u get both, keep them on ur external sd card.
As u said ur mobile is already rooted, hence u must be having custom recovery as well instead of stock recovery. U need to restart your phone in recovery where u can install your custom rom.
Hope that answer your question.

this is true. not all g900's have unlockable bootloaders and some need to flash ROMs via an app called safestrap. your phone should be a G900v or G900a or G900p or something like that. Help us help you!
