Yes, but would Sprint be willing to activate it for him?
Hardware-wise the Sprint and Verizon iPhone 5 are essentially identical.

No.
Sprint does not allow phones from other networks in their networks even if it is unlocked.
I tried to bring over my factory unlocked iPhone 5 and it would not take the MEI number. The Phone must be purchased from sprint in order to use their network.

I don't believe that ESN #s that don't originate from sprint can be activated by sprint. their policy. but metropcs would work.

This thread will probably get locked soon. I don't think the cdma and lte technologies are compatible between the two companies.

That is an incorrect statement. The hardware in the Sprint and Verizon iPhones is identical. However, Sprint will not activate on their network a phone that was not sold by them. In this case it's a matter of company policy, not technology.

I would probably not activate on Metro because their network is ass slow and the Verizon variant does not support their (or T-Mobile's) LTE.

HSPA+ on GT-N7000. T-Mobile refarming?

It may be a miracle. I was using the International Samsung Galaxy Note and was only receiving edge on T-Mobile. I learned why this was and hoped it would change. About three nights ago exactly I was trying to use my data which was edge which did not work at all. I was not sure why. Then the following night I was at a dinner party in Cougar Mountain Drive which is in the Bellevue area. All of a sudden I turned on my data and guess what I saw. A big H+ staring me back in the face. I was so overjoyed I could not even begin to explain. But alas, I could not longer see the H+ when I returned home in the Seattle Area. Is T-Mobile finally refarming? We can all hope can't we? What do you guys think?
Probably Tmo rolling out 4G in select areas.
You can always apply the Tmo radio to get 4G

that's only with the at&t version. I believe OP was referring to T-mobile expanding their network bands to the ones used by at&t

That's awesome advice....not. Are you trying to get him to brick his phone?
This is an N7000.
T-Mobile has been working on standing up the 1900 frequency, which is the same band AT&T uses, and the band included in all international phones. They have been using AWS which is the 1700 band. This is why all new-ish T-mobile phones are pentaband. You must have been in an area that they already converted over. It is supposed to be complete sometime in 2013.
I have a similar story. While visiting in Concord, CA. Downtown where the Old Spaghetti Factory is: I was able to get HSPA+ on my Infuse i997. Looking forward to the refarm taking place all over the usual spots.

I understand that T-mobile has re-farmed 1900 MHz for 3G service in the Boston, MA area.
Is this service available to T-Mobile pre-paid PAYG customers? On the $3/day plan?
Is there any requirement for a GBA SIM? Or any newer SIM?
Are there any specialized APN settings?
Any specialized phone settings? "Force" WCDMA 1900 MHz only from the Service Menu?
I have an international un-locked Samsung Galaxy S II (I9100), and a 7 year old T-Mobile pre-paid SIM.
I have been able to use GSM data (2G: GPRS/EDGE) as recently as July, 2012.
My visits are brief so I use the $2/day plan but would like to be able to use 3G.
current reports,
no specific deals with TMO regarding network sharing,
i'd doubt AT&T will lend the networks without a fair price

When I have purchased phone, I saw the MHz its supporting, which is Verizon range from 800 to 1900.
PS Anybody knows the programming menu code for HTC ONE ?
The developer version is a gsm device and Verizon operates a CDMA network. They are incompatible and the phone will not work.

Its not a troll, I'm not so smart in this type of technology. In my mind it was very simple WCDMA is Docomo, which goes way ahead of regular CDMA, and Qualcomm made an support from WCDMA to CDMA2000, thats why I cant understand why Verizon CDMA don't want to support it.

Sprint's Galaxy S4 has T-Mobile's HSPA+ GSM bands so technically it COULD work, only problem is the sim slot is locked to international providers only so until someone finds away to unlock it, no go.

Three major problems with this scheme:
1. Domestic GSM lock. Who known when or if this will ever be worked around.
2. Lack of LTE support for TMO (or AT&T) LTE.
3. Lack of support for AWS HSPA while TMO's HSPA 1900 deployment is still poor in many areas.

Nexus 4 (used on ATT previously) not working on T-Mobile

Hi All, I seem to be having a unique problem. I've searched the Web, gone to a T-Mobile store (A bunch of useless idiots), called Google Nexus support, called LG (Equally as stupid as the T-Mobile employees) They could not help me in any way whatsoever. As the title suggests, my Nexus 4 is not getting any signal with a T-Mobile SIM inserted. I used the phone on AT&T for 2 months with no problems at all. I've tried multiple T-Mobile SIMs and AT&T SIMs and the results are always the same. The phone is pure stock. No modifications. If anyone has any sort of knowledge or experience with this issue, your comments will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Been fine on my Nexus, course I've only used T-Mobile with mine, I haven't been on AT&T with it.
Also Phone companies don't seem to be in the habit of blacklisting phones, In fact there's been quite a few people pushing for them to blacklist IMEI and such in the cases of say stolen phones and such, but many just simply don't have a database in place for it.

There is a chance that the former user was a tmobile user who has tmobile insurance which uses asurion. There's a good chance that he committed insurance fraud and reported the nexus 4 lost or stolen. Asurion will then blacklist that phone for that carrier. Tmobile themselves don't blacklist the phone, but asurion does.

Sprint Galaxy s4 on Tmobile.

I never had a gsm phone so I dont know alot about world phones. On sprints community foruma there is much debate if the gs4 is a world phone. I see a sim slot my guess that it is. Anyway if I were to switch to tmobile, can this phone be used or is it completely impossible? Other countries use gsm networks only so being a world phone I would assume that it can be used with US gsm networks. Thanks.

There seems to be a very dismissive attitude in this thread.
I have a Sprint HTC One and I can easily throw a T-Mobile SIM in there and get full service (sans LTE) with T-Mobile. The HSPA+ is faster than the Sprint 3G.
So while I do not have personal experience with the S4 in this fashion, I do not see why it would not be possible to get it unlocked and used on T-Mobile. (Unless Samsung/Sprint are blocking it for whatever reason)
