Hi,
First off yes I know I'm an idiot for bricking a phone with dangerspl.
Now to the point is anyone based in the UK able to unbrick my phone for me for a fee or know of someone that could do it for me?
Thanks in advance.
Can you describe the steps you took which caused the brick? Are you positive its bricked? There is no stupid here -- its just a damn mistake, so be honest, save the next soul the trouble.
Well i was trying to save myself from the normal comments about this type of brick
Anyway after flashing dangerspl on the reboot it just hung on the G1 logo for 30 minutes so I tried a battery pull but got the same thing again.
I'm guessing I had the wrong radio flashed.
Sent from my Full Android on Vogue using XDA App
can you get into the recovery or bootloader ?
No I can't its currently in repair at the moment.
Sent from my Full Android on Vogue using XDA App
Just a 'me too' on this year-old thread - I did a stoopid and whilst I thought I had all the right radio versions etc. installed I must've messed something up, so my old G1 just sticks at the G1 logo forever.
Power + Camera = no bootloader, Home + Power = no recovery. Even the suggestion of 'fastboot' does nothing - I see no USB device detected.
So, any UK takers? The RIFF box isn't that expensive, but I'm bloody useless with anything small and fiddly

I Just bricked (Hard-bricked my S2) and found a service with in the u.k http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif its called funfoneshop.co.uk so check it out and for my S2 it's only £30 http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
So I apologize in advance, I am a n00b to rooting android devices.
Long story short, I think I hard bricked my TF300T.
I had followed some rooting guides (from other sites ) and yup, I'm stuck at the Asus logo with the "unlock" message in the corner.
I can't get into fastboot or anything else by holding Volume Down + Power, all I can get is my computer to recognize it as an APX device.
At one point previously, it almost bricked and froze at the same spot, but I somehow played with different reset combinations and it came alive again. Is there any reset combinations that worked for anyone?
Also, I remember doing a system backup within the device. Is there any way to access that, or is it gone?
In other words, do I need to buy a new motherboard? Or is there a remote possibility I can fix it?
One last layman question: why is it I can't just read and write to the device's internal memory, regardless of its status?

Looks like you will need to replace the mb, if you have not already generated nvflash binaries. You can't read/ write to internal memory because when connected to a pc this is done using the mtp protocol which os loaded by android, and hasn't in your case.

NvFlash blobs are specific to each device they are generated on.
Its like trying to infuse with a different blood type, where each tf300 has a different blood type. Wheelie will reject it and your tablet will reject it.

Here is a link to my guide to enter the bootloader.* Try these each several times as this tablet morphs as you progress.
Provide us a little more info.
What happened to create this problem? *Details please.
Did you have a custom recovery, rom, etc? *If so which ones?
Can you fix it; maybe. *We'll have a better idea once we know your details.

Thank you for that illustration. It did help me understand.
One last thought of desperation: Is the internal storage an actual SD Card? Or is it just called that on the device menu for some odd reason?

I was installing a custom ROM, when I went to "RCK"(?), it hung up when it said it was booting kernal. It didn't do anything for quite a while, so I held down the power buttong and reset it. And now it is stuck in the boot loop.

off topic but that is a pretty good analogy :highfive:
One question tearing me long enought: did someone tryed to hack nvflash binaries? As far as I know there is only one unique file and may be not all of it's content is specific for certain device. Did someone dig in that direction?

that would be really useful.
And although I understood the analogy, I still don't get the technical aspects of why you can have 1,000 devices that are all the same but they each need a different file. I'm used to building Windows computers, and you can use the same image repeatedly for multiple copies of the same type of computer.
I'm also wondering: why can't anything be installed straight from the SD card or even USB when a device is bricked? How does Asus do it when they fix people's motherboards?

Think of it like a cryptographic key. Each tablet's NVFlash blobs has a certain signature. To compare it to the Windows situation, assume that you have a legal, non-volume licence key for Windows, only that when you installed it the first time, the key was permanently bound to the motherboard.
Assume that it is a string of lower-case letters (good chance that it has numbers, capital letters, and all sorts of fun stuff). A two-character signature has a space of 26*26, which is already over 625 keys. That number scales hella fast when you add more characters.
Asus will fix your tablet by either replacing your motherboard completely (more likely), or they may have the NVFlash keys for your device by its serial number. However, since your bootloader is unlocked, and they will have your serial number on file as "unlocked", they may just refuse to repair it outright. Surely, they will refuse it for a warranty repair, though I don't know if they will even repair your device for money.
My Mojo has died... It acts like it wants to boot but never makes it - just leaving a blank screen. I feel like I have lost my bff. I was trying to install the REMIX OS, I guess it went left instead of right. IF anyone is willing to help me , I will even ship it out to ya if it will help. I am in Poplar Bluff, MO USA. I feel so sick when I think about how I killed my bff. Thanks Andy.... Pls reply.
Welcome to the club. Mine died on me too. The blue lights comes on but nothing but a black screen.
Have you guys tried looking up old threads with the same issue?
@kevinthefixer helped lots of folks with bricked (or seemingly dead) MOJOs.
Those posts are actually the reason why I don't wanna upgrade my MOJO with new ROMs. The only thing my stock rom doesn't do is play videos on Prime Videos. I can survive without that. And for some reasons, it magically mount my external HDD on boot with no extra app or stuff. I can't ask for more than that.
Hope you guys get some fix among those old threads. If not, try to contact Mad Catz if they can replace or something. I know rooting doesn't void the warranty. But I don't know if that's the case with unofficial builds. Plus, @Unjustified Dev was begging those Mad Catz guys to release the source code so that he can develop better roms.
Check out the recovery thread in the development section. It explains how to force the MOJO to boot into recovery via Fastboot using a PC. Now, I don't want to say that this makes the MOJO unbrickable, I don't believe all the gods together could do that to any machine. But it makes bricking it very unlikely. Once you're in recovery, you can try a factory reset, flash the same ROM again, flash the stock FW back (extremely quick & easy if you shot a Nandroid backup before flashing a custom ROM), and (this one I recommend whenever changing ROMs) format your /data partition.
I doubt Mad Catz will warranty your hardware because of a software problem that you caused. I recommend you learn to repair that problem, especially since it is so easy on the MOJO.
Hello,
Does anybody know how to fix the "INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE" error.
Please help, I dont want to give up on my Mojo.
Having kind of the same issue. the hdmi was starting to come off board so i opened and fixed it. But when i turned on nothing but i did the the instructions from the forum and was able to flash twrp on it and custom rom. I can do whatever i want in recovery but when it boots i get nothing no light on front. ive tried all the custom roms and official and wiping everything but still no boot felt like a big loss. is there anything else to do? What did i possibly mess up strange since i can get into recovery.

Very strange, you're saying that you get a video output when booted into recovery but not when booting a ROM? From your description I'd be ready to say so solly, you have a hardware problem, but if TWRP can output video it's almost certain that it's a software glitch. Did you try a full format of the /data partition? If that filesystem is corrupt it might conceivably cause that.
How did you fix the hdmi port. Mine was a little loose so I soldered the 4 contact points but with no luck. Can you give me some pointers of how you fixed yours? Thanks.

Not sure on these questions. I believe it is stock. I bought it from an acquaintance that said he was just upgrading. He showed me it working. I got it a week later and its doing this. Trying to see if its fixable before addressing him. I believe it was stock and with oreo. I just know he was saying its the new android 1 and for 2 years of updates.

Hi, you'll need to unlock the Bootloader first, which is not possible ( i think ) as Nokia does not allow this as yet, for most devices. On my 6.1 OEM unlocking is greyed out and Nokia just said stay tuned when I asked to get an unlock key. Can you get into Fastboot mode - hold Vol down and power ( while you have a usb connected to power / pc )??
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-61-plus/fastboot-mode/
It might be worth trying a factory reset FIRST, which could work.. follow this - https://www.hardreset.info/devices/nokia/nokia-61-plus/recovery-mode/

I tried all of this in the youtube video I posted. is like it doesnt have a boot loader information on it. It seems as thought there is zero software in there excpept for the android one screen and the amount of battery life when its off. When not plugged in I get absolutely zero response from the phone, even though its 100% charged. Is there a way I can put something on a memory card and try to access it from there into boot mode, or maybe use some software to access the phones internals to install through a computer usb?

Sorry I missed that, I thought you had to be doing something wrong. I've never been in this sort position & I've been flashing phones for years, anyway, I'm a bit lost as to what to do next. Without a care centre to help, i can not find any other way to get that phone to boot. As every method I know and have read about, requires an unlocked bootloader and or getting into download mode or the recovery. The Nokia online service tool (ost), requires an unlocked bootloader to flash firmware. Also if the PC does not recognise the phone is another issue.
I will keep looking into how to correct this issue & if I find anything, I'll let you know.
This maybe worth reading, as it may hold a solution

I have been reading, others are reporting, getting into recovery mode can be difficult.
When phone is on connect with USB cable to PC. Turn phone off, immediately press volume up button after this. Wait for the little Android to appear. Press power + volume down to access the recovery menu. -> this might take a few tries cause you have to be really precise, but this was the same on my Nexus 5X.
When you have time and patience, could you try to get into recovery again.

Does anyone have any or know of any functional firmware for this phone?
Hi,
This is my first time trying to root a tablet but managed to unlock the bootloader and install magisk + Edxposed, but was unable to find a module that enabled exfat for the sd card.
Currently it only reads Fat32 formatted cards but I would like to load a 10gb file on there that the device can read.
Any ideas how to go about this? will flashing a custom kernel/ rom help me with this?
All help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I believe you'd need something like vold-posix, along with a version of magisk modified to inject it
But vold-posix is for Android 8.1, although I believe there is a modified 9 build for Pixels.
I'm not even sure if anyone has gotten any custom roms working on any of these yet, but if they have, might be your only option.
Thanks!
As of now I think I bricked it....
I messed around and accidentally erased the system partition, tried to fix it by flashing the image posted here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/wa...eral/stock-stock-backups-images-otas-t3998227) and now the screen won't turn on, no recovery mode, no adb..... the device is still detected through the SP flash tools though.
I think the image I used wasn't complete - can anyone upload a complete working image (including a scatter file) I don't care if it's stock or custom, just need something working on the device.
Thanks all!

Is it still detected by the computer? That's really all you need to flash the ROM. I would be careful not to overwrite or format the unit-specific data on the emmc, like nvram, proinfo, persist, etc. I hope those did not get corrupted on your device.

Is your computer still detecting it? What specific errors is SFFT giving you? Did you follow the guide HERE?
Appreciate all the help here! I did follow that guide but I believe I messed up when I deleted the internal storage so the flashing did not work...
Either way I have another one to play with as these were super cheap on black friday - does anyone have any ideas for my original question?
I don't mind flashing a custom rom if anyone knows of one that works with this device.
@rachelld, I don't understand what you mean by "deleted the internal storage" (I don't think you can delete the emmc chip ), but these tablets are basically unbrickable as long as you have a backup or at least the device-specific areas remain in the ROM. There is also no secure boot to speak of.
@diplomatic Have no idea what I did but at one point I did hit a Chinese screen and clicked clear Emmc now that you mention it... (At least that's what Google translate told me it meant....)
I am left with a device that won't turn on at all, sp flash tools claims that it flashed successfully but still no response from the power button
@rachelld, what about connecting it to the wall charger?

Nothing doing, no sign of life. Tested the charger with another device to make sure it's working

Well no, if you did erase the emmc, then the stock Rom backups shared will not have enough data for you to fully restore from.
And it is not know what partitions can be shared between devices. For example. Secro has device specific data on it. Nvram , also.
So if you have multiple devices. Follow the wwr readback process and fully read back all the partitions from one that works. And flash it back to the bricked one.

That's the factory mode, the clear eMMC option should just be another factory reset option.
