I have my phone for about a week now. Before I'm seeing a sceen that shows up when idle the one with clock which stays for about 4 to 5 secs (attached photo) but now i don't see it anymore. Can anyone tell me please how make it show again. I can't find it anywhere on the settings. Or what is that in the first place...

Try waving your hand over the top of the phone when the scree is off. That's how I get it to display. The blue LED lights up first if you did it right.

It works. Air gesture must be On. Thanks.

Anyone had this one? Since 4.2, the screen momentarily goes black, with a similar transition to hitting the task manage soft key, but transiting to the left in landscape, then flicks back to normal use. Happens in apps...screws up some games, puts others into pause mode as if a task has been switched. Thought it might have had something to do with auto rotation going a bit bonkers, but not sure....
Not heard any reports...have looked through the forum, couldn't find anything.
Weird...it just did it then....but the keyboard stayed on screen, xda disappeared to the left...
Any thoughts and thanks in advance

Ok..just happened again while in portrait mode. Definitely saw it flick to landscape. Rotation is locked btw.
Hmmmmm.....

It happened to me three times last night after update to 4.2 :crying:
Ok...so, while sitting in a tedious meeting, Nexus in landscape, propped up with its folding case the screened flipped upside down and stayed upside down. 3 times. My ipad using colleague giggled.
Any way to recalibrate the tilt sensor? Or any other suggestions?
It's not the end of the world but...there must be a patch solution or other? Before 4.1 I used the auto rotate app, I forget its correct name...
Thoughts?

I used logcat to monitor the Nexus 7 until the random rotation happened. After looking at the log I realized that it was always the same process being activated and that process was nVision.
Since nVision always rotates into landscape mode I was suspicious that perhaps when it tried to update itself in the background it was changing the screen orientation. I disabled notifications and then uninstalled the app and the problem has completely gone away. I have had no random rotations at all in the last 24 hours.

Thanks very much. Ill give it a try and report back

Okie doke.
For the record.... 48 hours and no random flips to landscape and back. I'd be willing to be a substantial amount of money this was the culprit. However, whether this is a 4.2 issue per se vs. Bad behavior in nVision is an open Question.

Ok. Disabling nvision notifications still flips out. Will uninstall later.
Thanks again

Uninstall it. I still think it checks in and screws your screen, whether it shows you the notification or not.

Uninstalled...all good so far. Woooooo!
Cheers!

Hi, I am getting horizontal red dots on the top of the my screen near the battery indicator or on the left side. It comes quite often.... But when I slide down the notification it goes off... I restored to factory settings bit it still happens.... Though it doesn't annoy me, but I worry if this will lead to a bigger problem. Can you guys help me. You can see in the image, near to that battery level icon left side

Does it happen if you move the battery indicator?
Looks like dead pixels I think?

I'm having some issues with this, and thought maybe I'm not the only one.
Whenever my phone untouched or I'm reading something or whatever the screen fades because I'm not touching it. Then the little eye icon appears in the status bar.
Does this icon mean it's looking for my eyes or that it's currently tracking them?
Because regardless if I'm looking at the screen or not it turns the screen off shortly after that.

I am seeing the same behavior, but I would like for it to work. Will check around for possible solutions/ideas.
Hey guys,
The normal case is: you call someone and when you take phone from your ear, it automatically turns on.
My s4 doesnt do so anymore.
Where can I turn thid back on again?
Thanks

Something weird is going on with my Nexus 4, I woke up this morning and all my icon locations are back to front! What I mean is up the top where the symbols on the right hand side of the screen where battery, reception and Wifi symbols usually are, they're now on the left side and the 3 buttons on the bottom are inverted and back to front. I'll upload a couple of screen shots to help explain.
As you can see also when I go into settings everything is opposite too.
Even scrolling through my apps I have got to swipe from left to right!
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have u tried simply rebooting it/
Also, is ur N4 rooted?
Yes I have tried rebooting it several times and no it's not rooted. Also, the most annoying thing with this problem I forgot to mention is the 3 buttons on the bottom are not responsive either. I've turned on "show touches" in developer settings and it seems that the very bottom of the screen is not registering touches. If I want to use the buttons I have to flip screen to landscape and move the buttons to the top of the screen.

Maybe it's an accessibility option? Check in Settings>Accessibility.
If found any seem to solve your issue, the most sure way to solve it is to flash a factory image. Check out efrants guide.
