Using DroidVPN, your carrier still knows you're using data, it just doesn't know what you're doing, because you are on a VPN

OpenVPN doesn't mean open for others to see your data, it means that the source code for the OpenVPN program is open source. Your data is encrypted by a secure key and is private. Knowing the algorothm used doesn't matter, an attacker can read all the OpenVPN code but not read your data without your private key which you must keep private. Being open, OpenVPN has been ported to a great number of devices, I run a server on my home router and connect to it from my phone which means security on open WiFi networks and security from the mobile ISP (but NOT from home ISP where the data leaves unencrypted).

Pull up WiFI on the device you want connect, and have the list of available networks displayed, your hotspot will be one of them.
Yeah then you click on it I did that and it kept telling me my password was wrong.

Verify your password on your S4 in the Hotspot options by checking the box for "Show Password"
Use WPA2 Security
Try again
If you're positive it's right, try it as an open network.
O.k. thanks!!!

Wifi hotspot

Hi guys,
I have turned on wifi hotspot on my phone without any security.
If someone connects to my hotspot, I can see an ip address and Mac number.
Now what I want to know is that, can I hack into phones or computers that are connected to my hotspot. If yes, how? If not, why not?
And also, can they hack into my phone? If yes, what should I do to protect myself? If not, thank god

[Q] Permanently disable wifi?

Is there a way to disable WiFi in Data programming (or somewhere else) so it can't be used? Or a setting I can change to just disable all data and then change back to normal to fix later down the road?

Oh I thought the data programming was the name of the menu you get from the short code in the phone dialer. My terms are probably way off. My bad
