I am going to purchasing my Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 here in the next couple of days, hopefully today. I want to get the black one, however from a lot of the pictures I have seen of it, it actually looks more gray than black. Kinda like the note 2 did. If this is the case then I'll probably get the white s4. If anyone can confirm it is black and not gray at all that would be much appreciated.

It has sort of a carbon fibre colour and texture to it. I certainly wouldn't call it black so if you want that you will be disappointed.

I would suggest you to buy the white one. The backside of the black samsung galaxy s4 shines a bit silver.

I just got galaxy s3 for t-mobile today and I just noticed like black streaks or dots on the screen when viewing a pure black background in a dark room with brightness on mid/low
Does anyone else have the same issue?
Thanks.

I've read some stuff saying these black spots occur in all amoled displays. Apparently its one of the drawbacks of this tech.

It's normal just have to live with it or exchange and hope you get one with less of the black spots

I have this too, once virgin mobile gets more in stock they're swapping it for a new one, hopefully its better!
I don't think I have any. I turned my brightness all the way up and put a black background on my phone and I don't see any. Is this rare for new phones and something that happens over time of using the device?

Not even with FB pictures loading and what not with the brightness turned all the way up I see none. Maybe I just got lucky!
I got a huge one right where the camera is. It's only noticeable when in dark room black screen. It's about one cm. Called store said I'd have to wait to get it replaced cause they're out of them. Hopefully I get one with no or at least tiny ones :banghead:

I have like three our four of them around 1mm in diameter, but like everybody said I only notice it at night or in a dark room with a black background. it's nothing that really bothers me because it's not just any black background but a specific one. I don't know what it is but I dont think it's much of an issue unless you're a perfectionist or have OCD. The only thing I care about is not having dead pixels. I had the vibrant before this for two years and the screen has no dead pixels or burning so I think Samsung can be trusted when it comes to the lifespan of the screens.

Everything gets dirty eventually. Even the gray one gets dirty, you just don't see it. If you don't think you can be careful or clean with your phone then get the gray one. It's all about personal preference.

White looks so much more stunning, as it does with the s3.
I had a white gs3 same plastic no discoloration since launch
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Shiny grey gets smudgy as all get out. I might go crazy and pop a white back cover on my grey. This this is fast and furious.
Will the white discolor after the phone getting hot with extended usage?

Its, does the white version GET dirty? So much fail in that so called question.
tappin on the aokp running Nexus 7
My wife has the gs3 since launch and uses it a ton and it looks perfect still, brand new looking. Honestly she probably uses her phone way more than me and I am much more of a techie lol, so not sure how that works. I've been going back and forth about grey or white and I think I am leaning toward white... it definitely looks much more stylish, while the grey looks much more professional. I've always gone for the professional look, so I think it's time to go stylish......

Ya I am afraid if I were to get the white model it I'll get stained with the color of my jeans . But a case could work (hopefully not adding more bulk to the monstrous beast )

If your legs don't get stained the colour of your jeans it's highly unlikely your phone will!

Look in the international galaxy s4 forum under accessories they have a bunch of suggestions along with pictures and sites to get them from.
Check this case out. http://www.cruzerlite.com/cases/samsung/galaxy-s-iv

I'm very happy with this case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AX8M570/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has a kickstand, feels great, and offers pretty good protection unless you're looking for an otterbox-like solution for people who constantly drop their phones!
The Samsung made protective cover + is an awesome case. If you Google it in the shopping thing you can get it cheaper than what Samsung sells it for. I have two of them for my white s4 a white one and a dark blue one.

Spigen SGP has a spectacular case for the S 4. It's more rubber than gel-like but it covers the back and bezel, feels great and does a wonderful job.

Interchangeable colors if you get multiple, too! You can find them cheaper elsewhere but their site allows you to easier see the colors and material. Explains it all too.
