S4 (i9505) and the program Android Commander - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With my former rooted S2 I was perfectly able to connect it with my desktop and the program Android Commander recognised it. I used that software to transfer files to the root folders.
Now I have a stock-rooted S4, I wanted to use Android Commander again. But alas, it doesn't recognise my phone.
I don't have any clue as to what is causing Android Commander to not 'see' my S4.
I would like to know if anyone is able to use this software with their S4.
Or if anyone has an idea how to fix my problem.
Thanks.

You have to update the ADB counsel on bin folder
Steps:
1- Download View attachment bin.rar
2- Extract with replace to all 4 files on bin folder "C:\ProgramFiles\Android Commander\bin" or "C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Android Commander\bin" if you have windows x64.
3- enjoy using Android Commander:good:
Note: either change the folder security to add permission for everyone to allow winrar to extract and replace the files directly or extract the rar file outside (i.e. desktop) and simply copy and replace the files.
If it help you, please hit thanks below:good:

Thankyou very much dear,,, its working fine after update bin folder...

This helped me with AC not recognizing the S4.
Anyway, how do you get it to obtain root access? On the Xperia I had to use an app called ADBD Insecure, but it doesn't seem to work on the S4.

Um go to his thread, hit the download link then follow on from there?
Just use something like es file explorer then to move the files into your Android folder the same way you would on your pc, EXTREMELY straightforward!!!

The dev folder isn't needed for anything other than devs from what I remember, all you need to copy is the root folder (this goes in the android folder eg SD/Android/Root) and replace your existing zImage with the one included, simply put extract all minus the dev folder

[Q] How do I run some software on Folio 100?

How do I run/install some software in my Toshiba Folio 100.
I download any zip packet for Folio 100 from internet and unzip it in my Folio's hard drive.
Zip file contains files
resources.arsc
classes.dex
Android Manifest.xml
and folders res and META-INF
I can't find any .apk file from any folder.
So do I need some installer or something. I download software from internet to my laptop and trasfer zip packet to Folio via USB

This is something else I guess. This is something very simple but I just don't get it.
So basically what I need to do that I can install software example finger bowling from....
w w w.freeware4android.net/toshiba-folio-100-device-1711/games-tag/finger-bowling-get-18990.html
So I download zip file and unzip it to my Folio. So is there some trick when I do not download it direct to my Folio but via my laptop.
Currently I have 3g via laptop only.

It is very unlikely that windows changed the file extention. Probably the site you downloaded from doesn't support files with the .apk extention and they changed it to .zip to allow the upload.

[Q] Icons

Say I like the icons on one CM9 ROM and want to use them on another, any way I could locate them and save them to the SD? If so where are they located? I've been looking through my root files, and haven't found them. Thanks.
One way to retrieve the icon, is to pull the apk for which ever program icon you want and using 7-Zip (or zip program of your choice, to open apk in another zip program you must rename from .apk to .zip. 7-zip automatically recognizes apk files as an archive, which is nice. ) , open the apk and look in /res/drawable-mdpi and find the icon and copy it to your device.

sorry i don't have nh1 so i can't help you but what about four threads for the same thing , it's not realy serious man if you need help just post one time
if you have a pc :
domload your rom from Sam

--extract it yoy will have G7102XWUBNI2_G7102OLBBNI2_XSE.tar.md5 use 7zip and extract it
--When you have completed extracting all of them, you'll find many files including many .img files. For Apps you need to extract system.img. Unlike normal nandroid backup's system.img file which in yaffs, this stock one in different. So, unyaffs tool can't unpack the system.img
--To extract the system.img, download this tool: sgs2toext4 (created by drphrozen). On extracting it you'll have sgs2toext4.jar file.
--Open a command window and set the directory where you have .jar file.
--Now type sgs2toext4.jar and press enter.
--The .jar will run in a new window & will ask you to drag & drop the system.img file there. Do the same and wait till the process completes.
--When the process completes, you'll find a file named system.ext4.img in the same folder where you had the system.img file.
--Now download ext2reader and install it. Then open the program open your system.img.ext4
--Now navigate in to find the apk you need and extract it copy to your phone

Unfortunately this doesn't work. When you drop the system.img.ext4 file onto the sgs2ext4 tool, no file is produced. The tool just keeps endlessly repeating:
"system.img.ext4 32 B 0 B/s"
I think that tool is too old (2.5 years old) and doesn't support the newest Samsung firmwares.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910T) NK4 firmware. I can't find any instructions online on extracting Samsung firmwares other than these, which were originally written up by rwilco12 a long time ago and reposted endlessly.

I'll try doing that in a Linux VM. I'm on Windows and the Diskinternals Linux Reader keeps saying the filesystem is invalid.

I found that the Linux method works on my Mac. Took a ton of tinkering and restarting the emulator on my machine.
sgs2ext4.jar did not work for me in Windows. It just hangs.

Snapdragon Camera V2 on N6P/N5X?

Has anybody figured out a way to install Snapdragon Camera on new nexus devices?
I have tried flashing the zip file as well as manually placing require .apk and .so files but it doesn't work. Camera app crashes as soon as it launches.

(using ES file explorer)
1. extract the zip to sd card somewhere
2. under "system/priv-app" > create a folder called "SnapdragonCamera"
3. give the folder "drwxr-xr-x" permissions
4. copy "SnapdragonCamera2.apk" to that folder and give it "-rw-r--r--" permissions
5. Create "lib" folder to "SnapdragonCamera" folder and give it the same permissions as the parent folder has ("drwxr-xr-x")
6. inside the "lib" folder make "arm" folder (give it the same "drwxr-xr-x" permissions)
7. inside that "arm" folder paste two ".so" files - give them "-rw-r--r--" permissions
8. reboot

Same here. Moved to CM13 over the weekend hoping it would work. Tried packages from all over the place, flashable, manual install, whatever, none worked.
Just found out about this camera and was hoping to test it out since the features look great, then I came across this topic and was disappointed. Surprised no one has put this together for this phone yet. Really I'd like to know why Qualcomm doesn't release and maintain this themselves though.
Any new discoveries by any chance? Would love to have it on my angler.
Would be great for my bullhead.
