I'm running on 4.4.2 G7102 NH1.
sorry i don't have nh1 so i can't help you but what about four threads for the same thing , it's not realy serious man if you need help just post one time
if you have a pc :
domload your rom from Sam
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/36186/G7102XWUBNI2_G7102OLBBNI2_XSE.zip/
--extract it yoy will have G7102XWUBNI2_G7102OLBBNI2_XSE.tar.md5 use 7zip and extract it
--When you have completed extracting all of them, you'll find many files including many .img files. For Apps you need to extract system.img. Unlike normal nandroid backup's system.img file which in yaffs, this stock one in different. So, unyaffs tool can't unpack the system.img
--To extract the system.img, download this tool: sgs2toext4 (created by drphrozen). On extracting it you'll have sgs2toext4.jar file.
--Open a command window and set the directory where you have .jar file.
--Now type sgs2toext4.jar and press enter.
--The .jar will run in a new window & will ask you to drag & drop the system.img file there. Do the same and wait till the process completes.
--When the process completes, you'll find a file named system.ext4.img in the same folder where you had the system.img file.
--Now download ext2reader and install it. Then open the program open your system.img.ext4
--Now navigate in to find the apk you need and extract it copy to your phone

Unfortunately this doesn't work. When you drop the system.img.ext4 file onto the sgs2ext4 tool, no file is produced. The tool just keeps endlessly repeating:
"system.img.ext4 32 B 0 B/s"
I think that tool is too old (2.5 years old) and doesn't support the newest Samsung firmwares.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910T) NK4 firmware. I can't find any instructions online on extracting Samsung firmwares other than these, which were originally written up by rwilco12 a long time ago and reposted endlessly.

I have seen this asked a few times recently so I figured I would try to put together a quick and easy guide to extracting files from Nandroid backups. This guide only covers Windows, I assume if you are running Linux you can download unyaffs and compile/run it without my assistance. If you are adventurous you can install cygwin and compile unyaffs on your own (or download it at any number of sites across the internet), however I have included all the files needed to extract the files from the img files.
1. Download unyaffs along with the cygwin1.dll
2. Extract the files to a new folder.
3. Copy the system.img file from the ROM or your Nandroid backup to the folder you extracted unyaffs.exe and cygwin1.dll to.
4. Open a command prompt and cd to the folder containing the three files. If you are on Windows 7 you can just navigate there with Windows Explorer and in the URL bar type cmd to open a comman prompt in that location.
5. Type unyaffs system.img
You have now extracted all the files from the system partition of your Nandroid backup. The APKs are in the /app folder and some apps require library files that can be found in the /lib folder. For example: Swype.apk requires that libSwypeCore.so be in the lib folder for it to work properly.
I get an "end of image" message and no folder is created with the extracted files.
I am trying to recover some photos from my Gallery, which I presume is in data.img - but no matter what I try to extract, I get "end of image"
any ideas?
Is the system.img the only thing you can open with this or can you open the data.img or the wimax.img also?

Your photos should be on your MicroSD card, not on one of the system partitions. Look in SDCARD:\DCIM\100ANDRO, your photos should be there.

I want to know this also
Seems to work ok for me for data.img and system.img, but not wimax.img or boot.img.
Yep, I tried that too...worked.
Is there a command to repack the system or data image after you have unpacked and played around with them???
I am pretty sure that my issue is within the data file...I removed what I think caused the problem but how do I repack it all to put it on the sd card and try it out?
thanks
Does anyone know a command to repack the files???
Worked for me.
Pretty much my whole family has Evo's. theyre all rooted too thanks to me but in my experimenting, i lost the 4G keys to mines. so i troubleshooted. i put Amen Ra's recovery on my brothers phone, and nandroid'ed only the wimax. put the entire folder for that backup on my sdcard on the spot where u would find ur backups, ran Amen Ra on my Evo. and bam. working 4G. u just cant use them at the sametime cuz it interfears.
Oh ok cool.
Is there anyway to pack the files on windows
I want to see if my phone will boot now that I got rid of some programs I believe to be causing it to bootloop
Stupid question. Don't mind me.
Awesome this works Thanks allot
how can I extract /data/system to then package back as either
* SBF
or
* update.zip
to write to another identical phone?

Firstly u need to extract KDZ file with LGExtract. It will extract cab file and dz file within. Then u needs to extract boot.img and system.img with DZDecrypt, but to get boot.img u need to use 0.5 version. For system.img use 1.0 version. If u have that 2 files, download dsixda kitchen and follow what screen says

Yes. I have done so, but I still do not unzip the file. cab. I have tried the following in cmd:
D: \ LG \ lgextract-KDZ F180K20K_00.kdz
after it is completed, I get the file F180K20K_00.cab
Next, I used the command:
D: \ LG \ 7z x (or e) F180K20K_00.cab
and I get the error message: Error: Can not open file as archive
After all, I've tried many versions and 7z LGExtract but they all failed. So what is the reason? Does windows version?

I've read that thread before. But I can not unzip the file. Cab with 7zip or winrar.
In case 2, used to extract UpTestEX.exe. KDZ ->. dz, I can not unzip it. 2 dz by DZextract and DZDecrypt tool.
The reason is that the OS version or ROM version?
Sorry, I just recently see that you're trying to extract F180 (Optimus G)'s firmware. These methods are only for first generation of L series (L3, L5, L7). It certainly won't work on newer phones. (Yes, although the format is still kdz, the extracting method will differ between devices).

No. You don't use anyone ROM in computer. You only can mod, cook it. Demo just on the phone. The dev-app can use Android Studio/eclipse.

I also cannot open the system.img.ext4 file with ext4 unpacker. ( it crashes after working for 15 minutes), is there another solution?
Just rename system.img.ext4 to system.img
I was having the same problem and it worked once I did this.

I've done this numerous times, tried renaming it and all, I swear I did this the exact same way a few weeks ago and it worked no problem. Ext2Explorer doesn't do anything and the ext4 Unpacker freezes and always makes me force close it now. I'm using Windows 8.1 but I also tried this by mounting in Linux and I get an error as well, "wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0," etc... So I'm not sure what happened I've downloaded the firmware from 2 different sources and from one of the sources I downloaded it from 4 different mirrors totaling 5 different downloads so there is no way my files are corrupt it won't work with ANY of them. I'm honestly so confused I don't even know where to look anymore so here I am posting along with the last few people that seem to share my pain. Hopefully someone can help us.
This is the firmware I'm using download and try it out for me pretty please let me know if your system has any issues?

2) Open unpacked file with ext2explore.
No other method works like ext4_unpacker etc., if it helps please hit thanks

Open system.img.ext4 in windows easily with 2 tools!
First download this 2 tools
1. linux reader
2.jar file
http://www.diskinternals.com/download/ (linux reader)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=645192&d=1309768531
DOne 50 %:good:
Step 1)
Download Diskinternals Linux reader and open it up.
Step 2)
Download sgs2ext4.jar and open it up.
Step 3)
Take you system.img and move it into the sgs2ext4.jar application and wait until it is done.
Step 4)
Now you should get a system.img.ext4 file or something like that just make sure ext4/ext is in the name
Step 5)
Now in Diskinternals click on Drives –> mount image, now a window will pop-up, leave the box on RAW disk image and click next, now search for the system.img ext4 file and choose it.
Step 6)
Now you see a new drive which looks like this: Linux EXT Volume 1 (Number can be different) Open the drive and click on commands and then select all.
Step 7)
Now do Ctrl+S to save the files where you want them, i suggest you to make a folder on you desktop called system and save it there.
Good Luck !

Also if anyone is interested how to extract hidden.img, first you need to modify it with sgs4ext4fs and after that use sgs2toext4. Then you can open modified hidden.img with ext4_unpacker and extract files from it.

Maybe you could repack it with root files to get root. There is a how to video on you tube. I would do it, but my linux machine is down.

Please don't coming from the one that said root is okay from the note 10.1 2014 edition. Root and profit. Sound familiar. You mean root and brick.

bare with me on that one since I tried too many different options, following worked for me - required files attached here (I ziped, so hopefully XDA did not blocked it)
This is for Windows PC:
1. Download sgs4ext4fs.exe, and download firmware, unzip firmware up until you see system.img.
2. Open command prompt (on windows, click start, type cmd) where system.img, and type
sgs4ext4fs --trim system.img systemt.img
........ > you will see bunch of ............., but wait until it finishes.
3. Once it finishes it creates systemt.img, get sgs2toext4.jar (save it to the same folder), and open sgs2toext4.jar, and drag and drop newly created systemt.img to the window (sgs2toext4.jar's window), wait until it finishes, when it finishes it will create systemt.ext4.img
4. Now last step, download ext2explore.exe, and open it, and go to file --> open image and pick systemt.ext4.img, it will show the img file there (on both side of window), on the left side, select the systemt.ext4.img (should be showing full path), right click your mouse, and select save to your desktop or any other folder location you pick.
Obviously, next step will be odexing everything:laugh:

This is the latest firmware (T700XXU1ANF7) as of June 29, 2014 for the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (Wifi) model (SM-T700).
"No-Wipe" means your app data and storage will all stay 100% in tact. Only system mods, custom kernels, and root will be removed as you are flashing stock firmware.
Please feel free to use as you see fit.

Can you upload or give a link to the file. I might check and attempt to unpack it for you, if that's ok by you.

Uploading 2 programs.. one of them should work at least.
Drag and drop .img file onto imgextractor.exe
or place img in SystemExtractor-Win-master folder and run extractor.
