Hi guys!
I'm not able to use any third party equalizer app while listening to tunein radio. The eq app doesn't recognize the streaming media or audio. But I was able to use eqs on my xperia st15i while listening to any internet radio apps. Its pretty hard for me to listen to radio streams on raw frequencies because it hurts my ears. Is there any solution for this problem??
Bump!

Any senior members around? Please help me guys!
Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming your on stock? CM10.1 has an equalizer that controls all sound I think, but I'm not sure if you can put it on the stock rom without root
Tunein won't work with custom DSP's (Even CM 10.1's). It was how the app was designed

Not just tunein. I've tried many other internet radio apps and none of them supports third party eqs. This really sucks .. Just wondering how st15i supports this feature. Yeah I'm on stock ROM and the default jellybean eqs are horrendous. Even that doesn't work with radio apps. How about rooting? Would that help?

Nope. The apps need to be recoded to support DSP's.

Thanks for the reply sigma392. Ok i tried recording the stream and saved the .aac data. Now my stock player and winamp doesn't recognize .aac . Are there any good players that supports .aac files?
Or any good third party equalizer that can support radio streams?

Try changing the file extension from .aac to .m4a
I have not used WinAmp in years (Win 2000 days), but I remember it did support playlists with audio stream URL's, and had a EQ.

Hi everyone, I would like to know what is the best music player for ANDROID HD2?
The one it comes with is garbage....Any links would be helpful!!! TY ALL
I would recommend Mixzing Media Player. I currently use it on my X10 and feel its the best for music. Lots of options and has a good eq. And I know you didn't ask but Rockplayer for video. Plays it all.
ty i will check it out
I love the default player that comes with all sense builds.

I have tried almost every good music player there is (Mixzing, bTunes, Player Pro, TuneWiki, and some others I don't remember), yet I've come back to using the stock player. Graphically it's not the most appealing there is, but heck, it does what it has to do without all the unneccessary hassle the others have.

Horrible?
Gapless playback, music suggestions, equalizer, id3tag editor (once you register it) and a lot of other things and you say that it's horrible?

I absolutely hated this whole suggestions thing. It worked so unintuitively yet took a prominent role, and the suggestions weren't very relevant either.
Mspot is great. i like the way you can also play your music from the cloud.
mini player is my fav based on the fact that it looks at a directory that you point it to, rather than seeking for all media on your sd card like the android player does. also has playlist now.
3 or sometimes called cube by phillip abrantes is a cool player it's in the market
i like tunewiki
Music PlayerPro is my pick. Closest to the stock app. Shows album art. Has 4 decent looking skins. Has its own lockscreen with a widget. And best of all you can select the music folder to play from.
Mixzing was ok. Just did a little more than I needed. I just want to listen to my music and not my ringtones if you know what I mean. Keep it simple.
Try Audio Player with EQ Platinum. It has a very good equalizer.

Do you know that you can set the folder(s) to scan for media within the options?
Also, regarding suggestions you can also disable them. Do you guys just stop on the first screen or what?

Just wondering if you're talking about the stock sense music player or Mixzing? I've hunted high and low in the stock player and can't find anywhere to tell it where to look.
Horrible yes,ok it is good, but it does not support rewind and forward on my jabra bt 3030....only back skip, and forward skip.....the sense player supports all my jabra functions....

If you can afford it, Spotify without a doubt. It's all I use now!
Where can I find the apk for Samsung's Epic stock Music player?
If you want the stock music player with a lot of cool tweaks (ie fullscreen, see-through background, gesture controls), download MusicMod from the market. Similar to but much better than stock.
thanks I'll try it but I would rather have stock music player if you have it.
I'm a fan of DoubleTwist.
Which exactly are you going for?
Sound Player or Music Player....
2.1 came with Sound Player
2.2 comes with both Sound Player and Music Player
The Music Player is the one with the 5.1ch option and Equilizer, but apparently cant play ogg :/
The fascinate music player was playing oggs just fine, it doesn't keep the tags though (So no album art), so i just converted em to high quality mp3s and got over it.

because you would first have to uninstall the music player you have when doing it locally. try using adb.
what is adb?
I found a Galaxy S system dump here. It's about 80 MB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8022126&postcount=13

I have tested 3 different roms, but all of them have a problem: when my vibrant plays some of mp3 files, there are lags during playing. It is just like a sudden pause with wired sounds during the mp3 is playing, but only some of the mp3 files have this problem, others are normally played. I have posted this on other forum and many people says they have the same problem with me.
Have anyone know how to solve this problem?
I'm having that to since I switched to 2.2 roms. I've only been using obsidian so I can't speak from experience using them but I get random pauses while listening to music. The song is still playing but there's no sound for a few seconds.

I have tested eugene's unofficial rom, obsidian, the new Jk6, but all of them have this kind of problem, I found a few threads discussing this problem, I tried deleting wigets on screen and killing apps, but don't work................maybe this is a feature of 2.2 ?
I have not noticed this? I'll try and play MP3's all during lunch.... anything I need to do to try and recreate, or just play a few songs?
This problem has often been attributed to the stock music player. Discontinue it's use and see if the problem continues. There are a plethora of suitable media player replacements in the Market (free & paid). Search these forums if you'd prefer some suggestions as they're plentiful.
I've noticed that jk6 is better in this regard. It's not widgets; in the past it's been most noticeable when changing connectivity, I.e. turning on wifi.

Try using poweramp music player. It's in the app market. It's a paid app, but you can try it for free for about a week or two before the trial runs out.

Whenever someone refers to the word stock that means factory. For example: stock rims on a car means the rims that came with the car from the factory/dealer. Stock music player means the music player that the phone came with out of the box. No 3rd party app

Hi everyone,
The phone's spec sheet says that it has SRS wow hd. Any idea how I can use it? To clarify, what I'm looking for is something like the control center application which typically comes with the srs stuff. It allows the user to set various parameters of the srs algorithm. Any help would be great.
Regards,
Soumen
currently it can only be accessed via the stock music app and while playing a song..

It can be used with any music app that uses android's stock codecs. If you use music applications such as poweramp (that rely on ffmpeg) you wont be able to use srs wow hd effects, unless the dev makes it happen

I'm not using oxygen atm (will flash it later this day), but they should be located under the equalizer presets in the stock music app.
Okay, Im pretty sure the ROM did something to the music player. The player now shows only 4 Tabs - Artists, Albums, Songs, and Playlists. Cant seem to find Equalizer settings anywhere among the options on those screens. On my previous phone(galaxy fit), the equalizer settings used to come somewhere there. Any other music players that support this feature?
the music app in oxygen rom does not have the equaliser feature..

Install the latest version of PlayerPro (2.09). There is an option there to enable the SRS WOW HD effects. Just tested it on MIUI rom.
Can SRS WOW be activated in the official 2.3 (28.12.2011) firmware?
In the settings of the stock music app the equalizer option is inactive.

That's good news!
I'm using 2.3.5 official. However, in the stock music app when I go to Settings I can see an Equalizer option, but pressing it has no effect. Is this the only way to get to the SRS option and if so why might it not be working for me?
Had to register, been stalking this forum over a year...
Anyway, with this new android 2.3.5, you can't change equalizer without headphones. And when you take your headphones off, equalizer turns back to normal. And that is a big loss for those who listens to music from backspeaker. You can't have SRSWowHD if you're using the backspeaker (with that erm, stock player? Can it even be said as stock player?)
That's annoying. SRSWowHd worked really well with the speaker in 2.2.
Would Huawei have deliberately disabled adjusting the equaliser in 2.3.5? Could a third-party app re-enable it?

As a last resort, if you can't find anything else that works, you can convert the flac files to mp3 using Lame with "--preset insane". Still technically lossy, but probably past the capability of the G6's DAC to distinguish.
