Hi,
I do not think there is anything sinister here.
It looks like Android files for port information and credit plugin.

Hi,
If it does like the files,it will not play them.
It will not damage the phone.

Although, isn't it weird that it had to convert files? I've never come across that on android..

It was a ringtone from my Sony ericsson, when I transferred all my music to the SD card, all the Ericsson ringtones and some other "wav" files had to be converted
But it's cool right nothing bad would happen?

Yeah, okay, it's cool then - I thought it was something weird, but then again - I never had to transfer .wav's
Just so you know, Android is pretty nimble - there are very, very few things that can actually damage your phone - I've been messing around with my Galaxy S4 the last three days nonstop, and I bricked it a couple of times, but as long as you have a stable connection to a computer via USB, it's all reversable. Physical damage to your device, other than overheating, is practically impossible (with exceptions being really old phones with crummy batteries), so don't worry about it. Android's awesome like that ^^

Actually they don't have to be converted at all. Don't believe in what windows says, it just doesn't know your device understands wav files. You can choose not to convert the files, they'll be usable anyway.

THANK YOU! I was really stupid - I didn't listen to everyone's gripes about the G2 and returned my MT4G in favor of the G2... Needless to say, the hinge problem is my complaint too, so I'm getting the MT4G back tomorrow (same one) - BUT - before I handed it in I formatted the MicroSD card.
I had a copy of it stored on my hard drive here until late last night - I should never have gotten rid of it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
send you a link via pm.

something like a request for stock files should really have the files posted to the thread instead of PMed. It could potentially help a lot more people that way.

Great, Thanks for this.
I just randomly looked at my account and just over 150 people downloaded that file I put up lol... seems a lot of people made that same mistake / or 1 person made the same mistake a ton of times lol

This post contains a zip of the original SD card contents that shipped with MT4G
I am not the original poster, but non of the threads have the link in the first post.
If a mod can merge this thread with this one it would be appreciated.

This may also may be people with different phones that want to try the Rock Band trial seeing as there are no videos or opinions of it online, and when you try an run the apk it tells you to insert the sd card bundled with the phone. Thanks for the upload.
Please post all questions in Q&A section.

Push/drag stuff like video or pics straight to ur tablet or computer

Yea, hi, I know what I am talking about may be impossible at this point but is there/will there ever be a way for you to swipe the movie you are watching or a picture you are viewing straight onto the screen of your tablet or computer?
Sorry if this is something that could never happen I just had to ask...and also sorry if this is the wrong section.
Currently not possible with android. However, microsoft made this a couple years back:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxk_WywMTzc
It's basically a coffee table with an integrated touch screen. CBA to explain all of it right now. But it's quite amazing

Awesome, I think google needs to focus on this as far as the placing your phone on the tablet and able to do this and that and more stores need to have that tech also so it will me super easy to do things.
I'm not going to say anything about what I've seen as I'm not sure whether or not it's confidential, but you can at least check out the trademark, as that's public.

I can't promise that this will ever actually materialize, but it sounds good.
I'm sure nfc will be used for this kind of thing once it's ubiquitous..

Ya NFC chips are starting to become more and more popular and the new WebOS tablet and phones can do something like that where you set your Palm Pre (I guess it would now be the HP Pre) on the WebOS tablet and it can transfer stuff, so far I've only seen it transfer URLs, but I'm sure the technology will catch on and later be used for other things. Just a matter of time.

At&t Bloatware is Removable

I have successfully removed everything that At&t added to the phone including At&t Barcode Scanner, NFS Shift demo and Blockbuster, Etc. No root was needed for this. Hope this makes everyone happy.
Nice find... some things are still part of the ROM, like DLNA - but everything ATT is removable.
I think Moto and AT&T are starting to realize it is easier to not package this stuff as part of the ROM.
DLNA could only be a bonus.. glad to hear that the bloatware is removable.

the HDMI out would stop functioning if the DLNA wasn't there wouldn't it?

nah..
DLNA = digital living network alliance.
It is a technology that allows streaming media to supported devices over a network. e.g. with the right application, you could send a video from your phone to your ps3 or another DLNA receiver.
It's pretty cool.

I actually took a couple of seconds to look at it just now just to compare it to the iPhone 4 and the Epic 4G and to all honesty I love this one better. It actually looks very nice and crystal clear. Very crisp image.
This is what I like to hear. First I read that root was possible and now this; good things keep coming; faster now as the phone is almost here.
I just found out that I will have a little over 150 by next week; hopefully.... ill be spending that at radioshack.

There should be a lot of software to power that laptop accessories as expected. Motorola is simply misstepping. Good hardware can't go anywhere without good software. And here is what motorola did:
1. Bad upgrading track record
2. Bloatware.
3. No choice to remove the crapware (depend on if you need the laptop docks or not) to power the docks.
4. A signed (possibly not unlockable) bootloader.
Congrat Moto, you gain momentum from the Droid and you slept on it. Hahahaha.

At&t apps actually are not that heavy. So I would say not that much if any. I think a game might take more memory.
That's awesome. Is there anything that shouldn't be removed?

PC music program

Hi guys,
I used to manage all my music with itunes on my computer, however I recently uninstalled it cos I got so pissed off about it constantly crashing and eating all my cpu - pc is a lot faster now.
I was wondering what alternatives there are? Preferably one with good android integration...
I know this thread doesn't really have anything to do with the G2 but not sure where else to post.
Thanks

The best player is foobar2000 (no contest) though it requires some patience. It is not an out-of-the-box experience
I've begun using double twist ever since I picked it up on the market during the sale.
