[Q] CSC Codes and the meaning? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am just wondering if I9505OXXAMDC means that any CSC ending in AMDC is compatible, or I need to look for that specific one?
What is relevant and what not in the CSC naming?

From what I remember from the Galaxy Note, the CSC doesn't really matter. Usually a specific one is filed with carrier bloatware but updates come from them.
I think it's just the last 3 letters. For Australia it's XSA.

I also think it is just he last 3 letters. And actually it matters, for some countries. For mine, as an example. LTE did not work until I put the right CSC.
But anyway, thanks. I will probably try one and see what happens.

Ahh. I see. We didn't have LTE on the Note. . Some ROMs have multi CSC so you could probably compare thoes with the one from your carrier.

Unbrand New I9300 purchased in China

Hello everyone,
I just got a new Galaxy S3 from China today, but it came with many preloaded chinese apps. It is not really branded, only preloaded with several things. I tried restoring phone from configurations, but the applications didn't dissapear.
I would like to flash a clean international versin with no added chinese things. Could you please point me to the right direction?
This is my first Android phone, but I had a Tablet before which I flashed a couple times, so I'm not a complete noob.
Thanks a lot in advance!!!
Cheers,
C.S.
You might go to I9300 International for better specific help over there :good:
Your probably the only one on this forum with one so I don't think anyone knows if any ROMs are compatible with it.. But the root method may still be the same so you can try rooting it and than installing Root explorer (paid) or ES File Explorer (free) to remove them from system/app or just get Titanium Backup (paid) after rooting and remove them that way (best option IMO)
So just head over to the international forums and read their easiest root method.
Best of luck, be careful, those things aren't covered under any warranty if you brick it huh :what:

Thanks for the advice. Is there any way to know what "version" I have? I mean, the phone came from China, but knowing the market, it could be Chinese, Hong Kong, Vietnamese or who knows what.

Hmm pretty much the only info about its build you could compare to others would be under Settings > About device, screenshot that and post it up over on the international forums and ask them if it resembles theirs in any way. Personally I'm pretty positive the ROMs won't be directly compatible and definitely wouldn't flash any of them, but if I personally can't use an Android phone without root so I'd personally try the root method and pray to god my phone booted afterward lol
Tough situation man, curious as to how it goes for you so post back if you try !

From what I read about those Chinese knock-offs they only have like 512MB RAM and almost just as bad in storage capacity.. how can anyone use a phone like that nowadays?
I don't think any ROM will even "fit" on it, sorry to say

I would personally try to flash a standard i9300 ROM onto it. Then you wouldn't have to worry about any sketchy apps that have been added.
There's no guarantee it will work, but if it really is a legit i9300 (which it seems to be), I would imagine the standard international ROM would work on it.

I want an unlocked device, n7100? Or should i wait for n7105?

I definitely want an unlocked Note II. I'd like LTE, but is it really necessary? Not sure if it's worth paying for a higher priced data plan?
What are others thinking on this?
Well, LTE is along way off in my area. I just ordered the n7100 tonight. I'm not much if a data hog and figure HSPA+ is plenty fast enough. Honestly, I'd rather have faster updates than a chance to connect to LTE. The carriers in the US are so slow to roll out anything new. Different strokes for different folks though.

Well, both the N7100 and the N105 are both unlocked so you wouldn't have to worry about carriers either way..
As far as I know N7105's not supported on this forum right? ROM, CWM are all not flashable?
Well, it's not out yet, so the ROMs here will not work on it. But, the name of this forum is 'Galaxy Note II' not 'N7100' so I assume that when the time comes, you will be able to find roms for the N7105 here.

Well, I have an N7105, and I flashed it using Odin and CWM both of which I got off this forum and it worked fine for me. Now I am just waiting for more people to get this phone so the Stock ROM can be released on this forum as well. I'd like the option to un-root it for warranty reasons. Anyways, the flashing definitely worked.

Attached are my AnTuTu benchmark test results. And, yes, mine is the LTE enabled version (SHV-E250L, N7105).
What is weird is that the top phone listed on the Bar Chart part of the AnTuTu test results is the Galaxy Note II but my test results, as you can see, came in 4 below - even below the Galaxy SIII. Anyone know any possible reasons why? Did I do the benchmark wrong? Should I have closed all my background apps and processes? I am really confused now...

Pretty good actually. With moderate to high usage (Netflix, Web searching, etc.) the Battery lasts me at around 8 - 10 hours. When it gets to about 15%, I usually just switch out the battery for the fully charged and included second battery. So far, I've never really had a problem with battery life.

Spain, Romania, Germany (new version?) and Portugal all get 4.1.1 today!

http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-N8000&pcode=0&os=1&type=3#firmware
Download size is 1023.9 MB so it looks like same OTA as the Nordic one. PDA all N8000XXBLK2.
The new German OTA says E-Plus (?) and is only 995.9 MB so don't know on that one.
** Seems like things are accelerating a bit. Hopefully get some 8013 lovin soon.
E-Plus
I am not in Germany - but I assume his is carrier spacific (the CSC)
The ROM is still the same as the other BLK2 - so, it's basicaly the same rom that has been released two days ago.
I'm running it on my USA Note10.1 - without any problems.
Used Titanium Backup to Freeze the Phone and Messaging app and used SetCPU to change the CPU to "onDemand"
no reboots and everything works fine.
Two days and counting!
I'm using the UK release on my 8013 as well. Only problems I notice are connectivity using a wireless USB keyboard and mouse is sketchy and trying to add an image to S Notes from the Clipboard crashes the whole system.

Yes but the CSC codes are different, it would be the same rom its logical because its for the same model it would be different for carrier specific models or different models like wifi

I had an ICS 4.0.4 Italian ROM and flashed the JB 4.1.1 German ROM with no issues, so was wondering if it's worth trying this new one or not?

[G920I] [ZEROFLTEDV] Galaxy S6 Discussion, Custom ROMS and more

I am starting this thread for the G920I model of the S6. Codenamed "Zerofltedv".
Where is G920I Available?
- Singapore
- India
- Australia
- USA
- Latin American countries
- North America
The S6 comes with regional locks for particular countries, And need to be activated with a sim specific for that region.
What is this thread about?
- For discussion.
- Online and local availability.
- Isssue discussion.
- Custom ROM development specific for this variant.
- Pricing
- Accessories
Curious to see which country with the G920I model gets updates first so I can flash that region's firmware in Odin. Australia will obviously be last as usual so I'm keen to get off this firmware ASAP and get onto one that doesn't block auto-rotate in the Gallery app

Running the same G920I and DOI2 on T-Mobile and don't have the update either...would I get it OTA or would I have to use samsung software to update it via PC?

You can try updating it via the PC. The update may not be available for some variants of G920I.

I updated this new firmware using Odin. I was tired of waiting.
The only other phones I've had are the Samsung Vibrant & Note II and I'm kind of hoping you guys can clear this up for me.
What is the difference between the different "G920I" versions. I understand the difference between the G920 variants (I/T/V/etc..) made for specific carriers/regions but I don't understand what the different variants of the G920I mean (which have different build numbers).
I am looking here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920I/
Can any of these firmwares be flashed on any G920I version? I thought the G920I version would be the same internationally but I'm not sure why some devices are being updates and others are not...can someone clarify?
Thanks.
I'm getting 4g speeds VIA T-Mobile USA when I flashed to G920IDVU3DOJ6_G920IXSA3DOJ6_XSA (Australia), I used to get LTE when I was in G920IDVU2COF8. Is that a problem?

Just the icon most likely. EU roms show 4g instead of LTE.
The update brings up a new feature "rich communication", also installed Samsung gear app.... Other than that I'm still looking out for new stuff.
