Will DayDream work with any Dock? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does the Daydream feature only work if you dock the Nexus 7 with the official Asus Dock or will any dock do?

You don't even need a dock to enable Day Dream. And yes, if you're gonna get a dock you have to get the Asus dock for the Nexus 7.

How do I connect my Nexus 7 with my TV?

Basically, once I get my Nexus 7 (Tuesday) I'd love to play games like Dead Trigger and Shadowgun on a big display with my PS3 controller. I know that I can get the sixaxis controller app working but I have no idea how I'll display the image off my laptop onto the TV (which is not a smart TV) and (if possible with some sort of splitter charge at the same time). I'd really appreciate it if somebody could help me.
Bump! Anybody know? I wanna do this too.

Mhl but the n7 doesn't support it
Nexus 7 of HELLBoy
Don't think Nexus 7 supports output to TV

MHL = nope
But you can check this out:

what about wifi direct?
Pretty sure its just for file transfer, but I don't have a TV that supports it to test. There's no MHL so you can scratch that. This thing by HTC has been the only thing I've seen that lets you do some stuff, but seems pretty limited
You can use the stupid expensive pricey nexus q

[Q] nexus 7 as keyboard for antroid tv ?

Basically as it says....
I've recently ordered one of those android dongles that you plug into your TV, is there anyway I can use the Nexus 7 as a keyboard and mouse to operate the dongle, if so are there any apps ?
Many thanks for any help.
Scouse
Maybe you could remote access it (vnc?)

Curious about pogo pins and wireless charging?

I see they have included pogo pins on the nexus 10 as well as nexus 7, but opted out on the nexus 4 which comes with wireless charging. Now why would they move away from this, one if the good things was the charging & audio dock, which I mounted in my dash for torque, music, nav etc. from my gnex. Just curious as to why the switch now...I just wonder if BT audio will be acceptable or sound terrible.

I have been wondering the same thing. Why exclude a technology that they've been putting on all other devices? That said, I don't think many will miss this to much, since 4.2 introduces miracast, and since the phone has wireless charging.
I know it was a bit odd. Why include with the new nexus 10 and drop it with the phone. I'm just wondering now what will be the easiest/cleanest way for me to stream audio to my car since I'll simply use the charge dock for charging and mount

Will we ever get to use miracast?

What's the difference between miracast and wifi direct?
Will we ever be able to use either? On of my favorite features was the ability to wirelessly send my tablets screen to my tv...

ordering bluetooth keyboard, on android stick will already be switched on? jb iphone

im ordering a bluetooth keyboard, but wondering would i need to attach a normal keyboard first to switch on the bluetooth setting on the android stick? or will it already be activated
please let me know.. because i am wondering how else would i control the android stick? i dont have a usb keyboard/wirleess keyboard
is there anything i can do via jailbroken iphone?
Bluetooth is typically off by default.
You will probably need a mouse and keyboard to navigate into settings and type any pairing codes. So yea you'll need something.
I recommend an RC11 Air Mouse/Keyboard ~$20

My mk809 has a really weak bluetooth receiver. It left me disappointed and Ill probably never use it as a result.
