Original Unlocked Edition Versus Developers Edition - One (M7) General

Hey guys,
My friend is going to get me the htc one from the htc's site tonight!! Now I've been checking out many threads lately and kind noticed a pattern that regular htc one's may have many gaps, dead pixels and stuff and I think that I saw most of the ppl with 64 GB dev's edition haven't noticed those,
Am I right??

Nope. I've seen plenty of complaints from both. My 32gb unlocked is perfect for me.

When I got my first HTC one 32G, there was a slight gap between screen and frame and I got a replacement with no defects at all

Thanks everyone for their replies
Hope my dev's edition will come defect'less

Bad display replacement help

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA AppSo I got a mt4g and it had a bad screen (panel 1) so I ordered a replacement its coming wednesday..but I wanna know what are the chances I'll get a good display on my replacement?? Are the refurbished phones good displays? Has anyone here had a successful replacement? I don't want to deal with multiple replacements -_-

I just ordered a replacement, im on my THIRD, first one had white flakes under screen, and the second one had the horrible taiwan screen... third came yesterday, its a good screen made in CHINA, but has a dead pixel near banner...
I plan on holding onto this one UNTIL the vibrant 4g comes out... Ive had horrible luck with htc phones, even on other carriers.... they have serious quality control issues in my opinion! When new phone comes out im calling customer service and asking for a SAMSUNG phone.... and after 3 exchanges on the same phone their policy is to offer a DIFFERENT PHONE...
When did you get your guest replacement?

New sim free htc one 32 gb 14.99?!?!?!

So guys I was searching ebay and I came across a brand new unlocked HTC ONE for 14.99? This has to be too good to be true!!
what do you guys think??
It's on ebay, I can't post a link because I'm a newbie.. but I attached a photo....
I can DM you the link also..
from someone with 0 feedback , it's a scam
$14.99 for a new one+0 feedback seller=by by $14.99
I think I lost a few brain cells reading this post. How could anyone even question whether or not it is fake?
BEWARE!! THIS IS A SCAM.
Some one in the mytouch 4g forums already got scammed the same way. The listing was of a nexus 4 though. If you check back in a few hours, the listing will be gone.
15 dollars is nothing, and paypal/ eBay, wouldn't have a problem returning you the money. But why go through the hassle right?
Just a heads up.

Anyone stupid enough to think it's real deserves to lose 150 dollars / pounds whatever let alone 15

If it's a prototype and is broken then I wouldn't mind selling it for $15 if I own it right now
As other people I'm amazed this question is even asked. Anyone buying should get scammed.

It'd probably still win there, just like all of the reviews have said. Go away Samsung troll.

Lol. I owned HTC one sent it back due to dead pixels and gaps. Got an s4 and that has audio issues due to DAC used in SD models.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258831 s4 audio issue.
I also sent my s4 back and now using my s2 again. Your blind if you think the HTC is good build quality ? Its metal but it is badly constructed and poor QC allowed many handsets sold to have faults. Just read the threads on here and you will see or just keep kidding yourself pal.

Definitely deserves to win most awards, if they could get stock issues sorted it will exceed most people's expectations.
Next year will be very interesting especially if HTC can improve and Samsung continue to use plastic. HTC might even outsell Samsung!!
I can personally live with a high premium build phone with slight build quality imperfections but I can't accept paying over 500 for plastic with slight build quality issues. So go HTC.
The HTC One is now a finalist in three categories: Phone of the Year, Gadget of the Year, and the Design Award; and HTC is a finalist in the Tech Brand of the Year Category. If you want them to actually win, you'll need to vote again!

how are we kidding ourselves if our unit is perfectly flawless?
you are the one kidding yourself because of some early bad units or defects, no to mention QC gets better everyday

Oh dear. How many faulty handsets out of the total sold? Probably a miniscule percentage.
Mines be pefect from day 1.
Stick with Samsung if that makes you happy.

Is nexus an upgrade ?

Hey,
I've owned a one x for almost a year now and with its intense usage I came to notice that the phone is getting worse. Heat problem is the biggest one together with minor damage getting worse on the device.
A nexus 4 is only 300 euros in Germany so I'm thinking about buying one. Are there any people around that know if German phone would work in the Netherlands?
It has the same processor speed I think but the nexus has the stock android look and gets updated regularly.
Any advice is welcome

Honestly, the One X is kind of a failed phone. It has the potential but does not use it fully. The Nexus 4, on a daily usage (opening apps, tweeting, fb, instagram and such) shown to be faster then the SGS 4. So yes, it would be a huge update. And I wouldnt bother waiting for the 5th Nexus. I would by the N4 and when time comes, i'd switch
Thank you so much for your time and advice. I might check a few stores here and there in Germany this weekend. All I need to know now is if it would work in the Netherlands

My N4 was definitley an upgrade over my S3 and I would consider the S3 a much better phone over the One X.
But the N5 will definitley be an upgrade over the N4.

The N4 basically obliterates any older phone like the One x. But yeah, I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you have GSM carriers operating on the appropriate bands, plus you're already using the One X.

Wait until the nexus 5 is announced. If its the same price and you get it in your country go that route.
One x is a more than capable phone to hold out at least to Google makes its new nexus announcement.
I recently changed from a One X to a Nexus 4, and it was a huge upgrade. The smoothness and speed of the Nexus 4 was such a big change I couldn't believe it at first. Highly recommended.
I switched from a HTC One X+ to the Nexus 4. The one x+ was supposed to be a faster version of the One X, and the Nexus 4 was still miles better than that! So you'll definitely notice a huge difference. The The Nexus 4 is just really smooth, no lag, and no extra rubbish on top
One Xs is a very good phone if you can put custom rom one it,. But otherwise I'd say skip the Nexus 4 and get the Nexus 5 when it's released which is soon.

Who plans on upgrading to the HTC One Max?

Do you guys think its worth the upgrade?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm going for it if it's s800 if not staying with the one.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm staying put. The One has plenty of power for me and the size of the phone itself is perfect.
I might, if nothing for the bigger battery. The One just gets me through a day so anything more and I'm out. Also I was talking to a rogers rep today who knows the HTC people and there will actually be 2 devices. The One max and a mid-range phone with a smaller screen than the max (still bigger than the one, around a note 2 size) and a bigger battery. I'll be waiting to see both if she is right, she says she saw two models.
I am still considering... I still want a camera shutter button (as well as a working camera without purple tint). If it comes out using S600, I think an upgraded S800 version will release later, and by that time, Butterfly 2 will be around the corner... So most likely wait and wait...

If they fixed camera problems maybe... NOT
I think it will be too heavy if it's made of aluminium, I prefer the note 3 in spite of its tacky look
It looks huge, but if it's around the Note II size, I'm definitely in.
