[Q] Can someone help me pick out a charger ? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently discovered the charger that came with my nexus 4 is defective, it only charges at 300mA vs my LG .7a charger that charges at 500mA
i originally wanted to buy a samsung charger like the one i had with my galaxy s2 but to buy directly from samsung is 40 bucks and amazon and ebay are flooded with fakes.
i was looking at this one
http://www.amazon.com/Charger-Motor...8&qid=1369673260&sr=1-13&keywords=powergen+1a
my only concern with it is it sais Output: 5.2-5.6V. i thought usb was only up to 5.5 but i could be wrong,
i was wondering is someone could help me pick out a fast charger, preferably 1.2A or under

[Q] car charger

hi, just got x10 but i have for it 2 car chargers and both not working, does anyone know do i have to change some settings in phone? cheers for any help
Is your car lighter ok?
i have a similar problem,.... i have a USB cigarette lighter adapter that i used on my previews phone,....
it doesnt work when i try to charge my X10,... (im using the original SE data cable,....)
A lot of the standard car chargers won't work for X10 for some reason.. they must be wired slightly differently.. you need to order one which is X10 compatible. I had a Jabra adapter which I tried with my USB cable and it didn't work..
Also - This thread should be in the Accessories section. MOD - can you please move?
Thanks.
Just a note of advice here... Make sure you're using a USB POWER cable instead of a DATA cable. If you're using a cable other than the one supplied with the X10, it may not work for charging.
FYI: The Motorola microUSB chargers work perfectly fine with the X10
There is a fix for your problem in this forum. Take yourself a digital meter or something like this and check if there is resistance.
If they are not connected (I bet they aren't) just solder the two data pins in your charger together (middle pins). Then it should
work!

ya, my blackberry car charger works perfectly with the x10
I bought 2 chargers the other day. They both worked. Only paid $3.50 per charger too and got free shipping because I have amazon prime:

I'm using the Nokia charger and it's working great so far.

Note 3 usb charging overseas?

Hi everyone I just have a quick question
Right now I'm overseas and the power voltage of this country is 220 v .
I forgot to purchase a wall adapter to charge my phone but luckily my cousins here all have note 3 's
Is it safe if I just plug my usb (that came with the phone) onto their wall chargers/aftermarket wall chargers ?
Here is a picture of my setup

This is very basic. You should always check the charger or any appliances if it has/supports 110V-240V input. Be vigilant.
All chargers have 110V-240V input range, and any usb charger can charge the phone. Check the output amps of the charger, if its lower than the stock charger then it will charge slowly, if its higher than the stock charger then it would charge fast but could damage the battery life as well. Otherwise any USB charger will works fine just after market cheap one may does short-circuit or over heat issues.
Thanks everyone

It's been rather hit or miss with car chargers. Have a look over here: http://www.droid-life.com/2015/10/19/nexus-6p-nexus-5x-quick-charge/ As you can see, you might get really good results with that, or you might not. I've had good results with their products, so I personally wouldn't be overly concerned. The point is though - we won't know until someone tries it and reports the results back.
If you're buying through Amazon, you can always return it. Go get the Ampere app from the play store, plug it in to that charger, and if you're not satisfied with the results, send it back.
I suggest the tronsomart. It's not true 3A but it'll be good enough.
Good
many one are using this charger and it is really a good one for long drive.
I can confirm it the 6P does at least display the "Charging Rapdily" message when using this charger though it won't take advantage of the 3A the 6p can handle. Seems to work fine.

s6 / s6 edge vs s8 fast charging

I had the s6 edge and upgraded to the s8 .
I think the fast charging was much faster in the s6 edge. I use primarily the fast wireless charger.
I used to get about 50 % in 20 - 25 mins charge but with the s8 it seems much slower ...
maybe it because of the note 7 bursting into flames .
also there's a big difference between wireless and normal ...

The S6 edge has a smaller 2600mah battery.
Therefore it charges faster.
....?

that still doesn't explain why the big differences between wireless and wired charging

Wireless charging has been, is, and will be slower than wired charging at all times. Wireless charging is inductive charging, you lose energy in the process.
The wireless charger uses the wired brick that wired charging uses, so of course it's going to be slower.
ok I always thought it was almost equal ...
thanks for the info

Quick charge or not?

So, I had to change my original Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime charger 'cause I lost it, and I went for AUKEY quick charger -> https://www.amazon.it/AUKEY-Caricabatterie-Caricatore-Samsung-iPhone/dp/B01AHYR04M, tempted by the possibility of charging my phone in less than the usual 2 hours.
However, I'm realizing now I probably did a bad move, since I'm reading many posts about how using a quick charger can reduce your battery life on the long run, some state they've used quick charge from the beginning (I mean right after they bought their phone) and they had to change battery or phone after one year and half more or less, not even able to reach more than 2 years, whereas some other claim they've always used a normal charger and their battery is as still good as the "old" times.
I'm thinking about sending the charger back and take a normal one, what's your opinion about it? Should I go for a charger with 2.0A in output?
R4P doesn't have Quick Charge compatibility in any case. It'd probably overheat like crazy even if it did.
Sure it has...

... see that circle around the thunderbolt icon? That means fast charging, when I charge the phone with a non quick charger, it only appears the thunderbolt. And it's also stated in the block screen, "Fast charging".
