Anyone has a recommendation for an app like Where is my droid? My wife's phone was stolen and now I'm looking for an app to help recover any possible phone theft in the future.
Thanks

I use Lookout Security, Avast, and Where is my droid. For whatever reason if one fails I have two more that can be used. If your wife phone was stolen recently can use Lookout's Plan B.

I lost my phone. I tried installing Plan B but haven't gotten a response just yet. Does anyone know if WaveSecure will install remotely? Also, I noticed a feature in the GPS settings that says locate phone when lost or something to that effect. I have ICS beta 7.0 installed fyi. How would I go about using the service?
I installed avast for android root and that **** i tested it and is the **** using my sisters iphone found it asap with sms i like that one it installs on the system root

I know you can find the device with latitude. I don't know how though. You will have to Google that. That's the reason I have where's my Droid app installed. It already saved me twice. One of the best apps ever.
Like the title. Do I need an antivirus or am I safe as long as apps are from google store.

I've never bothered. But I read the comments before installing anything. Usually will say if there's anything up with the app. Like push ads. Tho I use ad-away...so I don't usually get those anyway.

I use Avast! for both my S3 & N7. I prefer to protect my investments. Comments aren't always truthful & not all apps, from play store or otherwise, are safe.
Google play is not safe as there are few apps which take your phone details like contacts and send online without your permission ..i use LBE privacy guard on my Ace which can block permission for stupid apps to access ur important data ..I highly recommend that

The only antivirus you need is your own brain.
If an app looks dodgy to you, chances are it probably is. If you're downloading APK's from some Ukranian website, do it at your own risk. For the most part, you should be able to tell which apps are secure while browsing through the market. Just have some common sense when choosing an APK to install. Been on Android for years and never had a single virus over several devices.
As with my computers...if I get a virus I get a virus....wipe...install...back to business. That's me anyway. If you feel better with one.....get one!

Ah. I build n mode my PC all the time and never run antivirus too but I do run a firewall. Guess my question should have been. Do I need a firewall?

I've messed with my phones a lot....never got a virus. That I know of. At home I'm thru my router...its firewalled....but I don't see anyone hacking into my phone either way. My phone gets silly and I just reflash.

You don't need a firewall but it's nice to have. I use it to block apps which don't really need internet access yet have it for some reason anyway.

I miss Google wallet ! Anyone who had it and came to Verizon has to feel the same way. Matter of fact I lost my champs reward card but was fine, because I had my wallet. Anyway I've had my RAZR for quite some time and am baffled at the lengths Verizon went to to block wallet. I tried to side load it from a NS4G and a Samsung intercept, it's not possible.
1. Does anyone no what physically limits it?
2. Is there a way to have it functioning on out phone?
3. How is Verizon allowed to do this?
I refuse to use ISIS for any reason. And just want my wallet back.

Why do you refuse to use ISIS ? It's similar to Wallet. At least you HAVE an option/choice, unlike a lot of us that don't have either.
I would say that he would refuse to use isis because it isn't available in nearly as many locations as Google wallet is.

I refuse to use Isis because yes its less available and also it's a principle thing. I see that as giving in. Might I ask how you don't have an option @ all ?

It's crazy, I have an Impulse 4G (Huawei U-8800) from AT&T and Play won't let me get the free AT&T barcode scanner that works really well for me. It's a free app and I managed to find an old version that works well but I would like to upgrade since mine is two versions old.
I guess there's no way to fool Play into thinking I have something else is there? I've searched all over the place and every link points back to Google.

Thanks, that was actually the first thing I tried. It goes through the motions but after it finishes and I log back into Google, it still shows me having the Huawei. I tried it using all three of the devices offered and no change. I did send a feedback email from the app. It was worth a shot though.

That didn't work either, but I used APK Leech to get it and sideloaded. I put in the device # for my Samsung Tab which the app really won't work on that well, but is compatible....go figure.

Great
Of the 4 carriers in the USA to have the S5, only T-mobile says that the device is KNOX compatible. The S5 doesn't have the KNOX app installed nor does the Samsung app store have it. How do I get it? Just wait for a T-mobile update? How did it work with the Note 3 with T-mobile?
Why do you use it?
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
From what I read it makes the device more secure. I was able to find it using Root Explorer and doing a search for KNOX. It showed all the files and even one that allows you to install it so it shows up as an app.

I'd like to set up a few containers for different activities, at least one for banking. I'd probably use the other one for secure social communication.
