I'm using windows 8 on my Macbook Pro mid to late 2010 15 inch via the latest version of Bootcamp. Every now again my display goes completely black for five or so seconds then comes back and gives this message: "display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 320.18 stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I just installed Windows 8 on a fresh partition. Prior to installing Windows 8 I had Windows 7 and I noticed the problem had started popping up on there as well in recent times, though it worked perfectly for two years.
What's the solution?
Thanks.
Also I should add, the driver only ever seems to crash when I'm browsing with Firefox. Firefox crashes then it brings up this crash report

The usual solution is "update your video drivers". Unfortunately, Mac laptops tend to use "special" (in the "proprietary for the sake of incompatibility" sense) video hardware, which means you have to get the drivers from Apple, and they tend to be quite "special" (in the "special Olympics" or just "short bus" senses) as well. If an older driver worked better, see if you can find that old version and "downgrade" to it. Otherwise, you can try downloading drivers for your video hardware (GeForce *whatever*) from nVidia directly, and see if they'll work; maybe they will.
Beyond that, your options are to turn off hardware acceleration in the browser, or get a computer with a video card that uses standard, well-tested, and written-by-people-who-could-conceivably-have-any-clue-how-to-do-Windows-driver-development drivers. Apple's Boot Camp drivers tend to fail at least two of these criteria (seriously, they're terrible).
The problem seemed to be Firefox. I stopped using Firefox and I haven't had anymore crashes.

When installing the driver (6 of 10 process) I get a cannot install driver error...then the entire WP7 update fails. I checked the events viewer, I found this log.

Any way to resolve this? Using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. TY
^ My W7 64-bit installed a Samsung I8700 driver at that point (and I had to restart the update)

* I assume the tetherxp.inf does not display a new connection in networking becuse I can't get the driver installed in the first place ....
* the Vista_x86 drivers let me install them ( forcefully ) but mass storage or tether do not work
* used USBDeview to remove all USB devices etc no luck
* tried htcsync2.0.35 with no luck
* also tried move the c:\windows\inf\*.pnf files ( aparently the driver cache for windows of the inf files gets stored in this binaryish file )

Windows 8 support my computer ?
I'm not an expert but I'd state this:
If it can run W7 it can run W8. Actually I'd dare to say "If it can run XP, it can run W8". According to the requirements, you can. You'll tell us in two days
with such requirements windows 8 will run smoothly.
My LG K20 plus will not work and so I am trying to resorting to download mode, but the problem is that every computer fails to recognize it. I have done my research but I still cannot get it to work.
I've already done the following:
Tried different USB data cables
Tried using Windows 7 and Windows 10
Tried using USB2 and USB3 ports
Installed all kinds of drivers, including the official one.
No matter what mode it is on (recovery, download mode, just being turned on, etc.) Windows instantly tells me "USB Device Not Recognized" I'm just really lost and would really love to get my device back in working order.
If this can help anyone figure out my problem, here are the events:

I am trying to install UbuntuTouch on a new Lenovo X606F. To do this I need to first downgrade from Android 10 to Android 9, but I am failing to do this (I have asked for help on the UBPorts forum but not had any advice so far). I have never flashed any Android system before so its likely I'm making a basic mistake.
I am using
Manjaro Linux (I don't have a Windows system)
SP_Flash_Tool_v5.2152_Linux (I can't use the most recent versions of the flash tool, as they expect an xml file for download, instead of the scatter.txt file that Android 9 has)
Lenovo_Tab_M10_FHD_Plus_TB-X606F_MT6765_S000009_210526_BMP as my Android9 image.
I can't get the Flash Tool to write anything to the tablet at all; I have tried both starting with the tablet off and holding down volume and/or power while connecting the USB, and using 'adb reboot fastboot' after starting download on the Flash Tool. Whichever I do I get the same result:
./flash_tool.sh
