I'm not an expert but I'd state this:
If it can run W7 it can run W8. Actually I'd dare to say "If it can run XP, it can run W8". According to the requirements, you can. You'll tell us in two days

with such requirements windows 8 will run smoothly.

[Q] 64-bit graphics driver ATI Radeon x300

Hello there,
I have recently installed Windows 8 64-bit Consumer Preview on my HP m7250n PC. My computer has an ATI Radeon x300 series graphic card and there are no Windows 8 drivers available for it.
I saw a post titled "[GUIDE]How to install Old ATI Radeon Cards on Windows 8" that shows how to install 32-bit drivers. I have tried the same with 64-bit but unfortunately, that doesn't work. I have looked at different tutorials but to no success.
I would highly appreciate it if someone could help me with 64-bit drivers.
But, if it's not possible to have it working for 64-bit, should I switch to 32-bit OS? What would be the disadvantages of 32-bit OS over 64-bit? (I am currently using 32-bit Windows 7 as my main OS on the same machine. I just wanted to switch to a 64-bit OS for an enhanced performance)
Thank you,
Nipun
It works!
Just wanted to say that it works fine now.
I am not sure what the problem was, but I uninstalled the device, and then re-installed the driver.
Everything works fine now!

[Q] Installing Windows Phone SDK on Atom

I have Samsung Ativ Smart PC notebook (tablet transformer) based on Intel Atom Z2760 and Windows 8 x86 core.
Windows Phone SDK 8.0 required Windows 8 x64, Hyper-V and hardware virtualization. But if I don't need Windows Phone Emulator, I don't need Hyper-V and hardware virtualization.
Is there a way to install Windows Phone SDK without Emulator?
(Sorry, translated from Russian)
oh
The windows phone SDK comes with a complete set of tools, so while installing you can't CHOOSE what you want or not....
You have just 2 options-
1 : Install it with every thing which is present in the SDK.
2 : Maybe after installation TRY to delete/uninstall the phone emulator separately but at first you HAVE to let it install completely.
Hit thanks if you got me..!!

How to run qemu Linux virtual machines properly on android tabs.

My tab specification's are 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB ram, 16 GB internal ROM.
I want to run RHEL 5.0 X86 CLI I mean without any gui on my tab and so I followed the steps below
At first on windows I have installed qemu manager and after that I have created a virtual machine RHEL with processor option as Pentium 3 and ram option with 256 MB. The installation was successful and I am able to boot properly into it.
After that I have transferred the installation image to my tab. In order to run the virtual machine I have installed limbo qemu manager. I have selected the transferred image and specified the same options as above.
When I run the above virtual machine I am unable to boot into my system properly and I getting the following errors
kernel panic not syncing: kernel compiled for Pentium+ requires TSC feature.
general protection fault : fffa [#1]
Kindly suggest how to successfully run the above virtual machine on my tab.
Regards,
Rupesh.

Android on HP Pavilion X2 10

I have tried installing android x86 to an external hdd and booting from it, and I also tried simply running the live version but nothing works, it just gets stuck on the logo screen. I tried the android-x86_64-6.0-r1 version, the Android-x86_6.0 - Remix OS for PC - 64 bit and the android-x86-4.4-r5
I also tried installing the Phoenix OS x86, but I get an error that my device isn't compatible even though it has an Intel Atom cpu which should work as far as I know.
This is the exact model I have: HP Pavilion X2 10-n107nc
I would really appreciate some advice, because I have been trying for days and I just can't get it to work and I am running out of ideas.
Also saw this model in UK and also don't want to wait for chuwi for 3 weeks . As far as i know In chinese models of intel atom tablets there is special bootloaders to boot two systems (iwork, chuwi) and on x64 architecture you can install grub and android image, the best option is to write to intel atom section

Using Linux JDK on Windows 10.

Hello everyone. I was using Windows 10 for Android Development but I switched to Hackintosh and I saw up to 80% improvement in compiling times. I can assume that JVM on Windows is different that macOS-Linux. So, what if you install JDK on Ubuntu bash in Windows 10 and make it primary JDK on Android Studio? Anyone tried this?
For the record my PC components are:
Intel i3-6098P
Nvidia GTX260 Core 216
Asus H110MA/M2
Corsair Vengeance 8GB
