Can't download TWRP through GooManager? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I just rooted yesterday and I'm trying to get TWRP so I can flash the auto Loki CWM. Every time I go to "OpenRecovery Script" it closes after 5 minutes and says No recoveries found for your device. Any way to do it manually?

this is more than likely due to goo.im being down. best way to check is try opening goo.im in your browser, if it doesnt open wait a while and i am sure itll be back up, then use the goo manager app to download once you know the website is back up

Got it working. After I downloaded the IMG file from the Goo website then it worked.

For future reference, GooManager pulls from your build.prop, if you molded it, it will give errors like that.

I have the att s4 with the mf3 build which I received via an ota update. I recently did the root for this build which worked perfectly, afterwards I read through 47 pages of forums and was trying to do the work around djrbliss put out, around page 40 someone says if your phone is rooted just download goomanager and installscriptrecovery. then reboot recovery. I downloaded goomanager then installed script, after this I hit the reboot recovery and the phone went into download mode. and it will stay there. If i restart it returns to download mode. Any Ideas?

You can NOT put a custom recovery on MF3. Your phone should now be a brick since there is no odin flashable mf3. There is another thread around here about best buy fixing this. Search for it

Can't get into clockwork recorvery -__-

I go to ROM Manager, download the latest recovery, go to reboot to recovery, and as the stock recovery flashes the update.zip to get into clockwork, it blanks then the "samsung" boot up screen comes up and it goes into the stock recovery. I downloaded the newest clockwork recovery dozens of times, tried flashing older versions and ROM Manager says there's an error...this started happening when I flashed the newest version onto my phone I believe. Why is this happening???

Did you also flash CWM recovery in Odin? Because you won't be able to access it without doing that. There are instructions on how to do this in the development section.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Well on rom manager, it gives me the option to flash it straight from my phone. That's how I always got clockwork but now it hasn't been working since the latest update
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Use odin to flash CWM found here. Then delete rom manager and forget it exists.

There are plenty of links floating around but many of them appear to be broken. Maybe try doing a Google search? Sorry I can't be more specific/helpful.

CWM
I always lose the "red" CWM. I will use the green as long as I can. It is the only one that boots consistently.
ive gone over it here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960118 see if any of those tips help you.

Does not go into recovery

ok first off i am using my first nexus device which is the nexus 7. i have recently unlocked and rooted it so that i can flash paranoidandroid onto it. i used the google nexus 7 toolkit 4.0.0 too. so when i hold down the volume rocker buttons, i get into fast boot mode. after that i select recovery but when i do that, it goes pixelated for a sec and a dead android guy appears with a explanation mark over him. I'm assuming it already has a clockwork mod but if not can someone please help me?
Check your app drawer for cwm. If it's not there download it from the play store, once installed open it up and flash it. Or go back to your toolkit and flash it .

CWM or ROM Manager. It's also unnecessary to hold the volume keys to get the bootloader; hold power until the Google screen (maybe not necessary), at which point you just press volume down.

well i went into the toolbox and flashed clock work mod and its still doing the same thing. any ideass???
Sorry I meant download ROM manager. I stand corrected. Thank you. Once it installs try flashing cwm from there. If that doesn't work you might have to go back to stock and start over.
Hope this helps

Yeah it still doesn't work
Does it boot up and function normal? Are you sure you have root?
I think you should start over. Try flashing stock 4.2.1. See what happens.
I am also very new to this. I really messed mine up twice. I had to start over time and time again just to get mine working.
Reading on here a lot of people don't like these toolkits. You have to follow the directions given to you from the toolkit to perfection or they don't work. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
I can't help with adb (I'm still trying to learn)
The toolkit will work. Like I said, try flashing a stock ROM. If the toolkit let's it flash then there is no reason it won't flash cwm.
Read the directions

did you delete the recovery-from-boot.p/ file? you would have to if youre using the stock rom, or the stock recovery will replace the custom recovery every time. use root explorer or a similar root file manager to delete it.
It'd probably be best to flash a recovery image through fastboot. You can find both CWM and TWRP in the dev section.

Also I noticed that it always worked if I plugged it into a PC. I don't know weird glitch I guess.

Do we have official clockworkmod recovery?

Got an update notification from the Play Store on rom manager app and then the newest update it says supports Loki. When you open rom manager and go to set up recovery it actually has the AT&T galaxy s4 in there. I was wondering if anybody use it or it safe to use?

Ram manager has always caused for issues then it has been worth. I would stick to doing things manually. This way if something goes wrong you know it was something you did.

If you don't want to use rom manager do it manually. It looks like standard and touch are both available.

The download files are Zip's. You'll need to flash them in a custom recovery, ie twrp or cwm. Do some more research before you flash anything. This thread isn't very good for someone not familiar with flashing.

The img files are used in goo. I'd download the zip file, recoveries on the download page and flash that in my recovery. That assumes you have a custom recovery and you want to update it.

Touch screen had become unresponsive on bottom of screen please help!

I flashed my third ROM using twrp 2.6 and it worked fine as usual but I went to update the rom and flashed the zips it went through alright but said I lost super user access and to swipe to fix so I did but it didn't work just rebooted back to recovery and after a Bunchve tries I finally just unrooted my device completely using qbking's method and it unrooted my device but it is still unresponsive on the bottom of the screen but only on certain apps and the keyboard. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong?? And is there anything I can do to fix this?? Need help ASAP :/

Download the MF9 tar file and install through odin to return to stock and start over unless you have a nandroid you can restore. Sounds like there is something corrupted in your files and it will be better to start from scratch.
Thanks can u give me steps on how to do that and should I run the pit file in Odin too? I saw that some where

Have you tried this with other tw roms or aosp roms? Also you might want to downgrade to twrp 2.5.0.2 since 2.6 is a bit buggy
Edit: here is the link for twrp 2.5.0.2 I got it from sacs rom
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2c9fqr1b8q63cjt/TWRP-Recovery-jfltespr-2.5.0.2.zip
Just flash it in twrp and your good to go
Also flash kernel to see that is also the problem.

Try going to the dialer and typing *#0*#
This will bring up a test menu. From here you can test the touch screen.
After flashing a new rom rry it as well. This will test if it is the rom or not too. If it works theee but not ar other times it is probably the rom.

Back on stock, update in twrp?

Boot into twrp and flash it.

You are able to install it via TWRP. You can download the file from the link above. After flashing you shouldnt lose anything, but make a nandroid backup just in case.

Oh sorry. Well yes you can do that, im just not sure what location that file is downloaded to. (Try googling, or maybe someone else knows where is located)
But the one from the link i provided above should be the same as the one that will be downloaded from the system update straight to your phone.
