[Q] restarted phone and died. Help!!! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello xda-developers forum members
My phone is samsung galaxy s4 sgh-i337 att
Rooted
Just switched over from iphone 4s, still pretty noob on the android scene.
Okey here is my problem once in awhile I like to restart my phone just to clear up everything. After rooting my phone using the motochop, I restart the phone and it displays this screen saying something failed. Sorry dont remember. But it has a picture of the android logo dead and the options displayed are reboot device, update using etc stuff like this. When i choose the reboot device option it doesnt reboot, shows the samsung custom logo and back to the dead android screen again. And this is the third time it happened, so I would have to wipe everything and use kies to reinstall. Kinda of a hassle. Any one else experiencing this or knows of a fix.
Thank you to anyone that can help

Flash your stock rom via Odin, perform a full wipe. Reboot.
Regards

White Screen on SGY

Hi, I have problems with my Galaxy Y. I will try to explain with my poor english the problem:
Before the first mod, I have done a backup of the phone (with CWM). It was absolutely stock, no rooted or modded. I was having trouble with inesperated unmount of the SD card and sometimes the phone shutdowns itself.
Then I installed MIUI Cream. Everything went fine, but I didn't like the ROM so I restored to the original state. After that, I rooted the phone. Then, the problem appeared:
When I try to unlock the phone (after a couple of hours without use) the screen is absolutely white. I press the volume buttons and the phone makes the changing volume sound, it seems to still working.
If I remove the battery and try to reboot it, the white screen appears again, the Galaxy Y logo doesn´t. But if I remove the battery and wait a couple of hours, the phone starts and works normally.
So, I restored it again and cleaned data and cache. Same problem. I tried to unroot it with the "update-unroot" package from the Dummies thread, I got "Status 7" error. So I removed the superuser app with Link2SD, restored it again... Same problem.
I tried to fix the problem installing Creed's ROM. It worked fine, but a couple hours later shows the same problem.
What can I do?
:crying:
Please, someone has any idea? Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the reply! I'm downloading the same firmware that my phone came when I bought it. After flash it I will post the results.
This problem can be a undervolting problem? I started the phone and I figured that if I constantly use the phone the problem doesn't appear, but if I wait 5 seconds (for example, before it locks) the screen turns white.

Help! Rooted Samsung GT-9505 stuck on samsung logo

Hi!
I just rooted my Samsung GT-I9505 a few weeks ago with Odin v3.07 and CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5.
Note that I didn't install any custom ROM.
It worked fine until now.
When I turned my phone off, it got stuck in reboot. The screen is black with a "Android OS is upgrading.. Opening all applications."
It's been 30mins and it just stayed there so I decided to take the battery off, put it back in and turn myphone on.
Now it's just stuck with the samsung logo. And whenever I factory reset and reset cache it, it just get stuck with a black screen with a "Android OS is upgrading.. Opening all applications."
Did I just bricked my phone? Is there any way to fix this?
Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

Your device is not bricked so don't worry
1,
U flash philz recovery and do wipe cache / dalvik / fix permission and if req also reset the device it should reboot just fine
2,
Incase this does not wrk flash a pre rooted firmware from android development by djembey and reboot try with wipe cache after u flash and incase get stuck here also

 Thank you! Wow! That's a relief! I thought I'm going to have an expensive paperweight.
Anyways, tried option number 1 and Flashed philz_touch_5.10.0-i9505.tar.md5. All went well until the reboot and it got stuck into the samsung logo. So I removed the battery, put it back on and tried to go to recovery settings (VOL UP + HOME + POWER) but then it continued to reboot and stopped at the samsung logo.
Note that earlier, before I flashed philz.. I can still go to the recovery settings.
Will now try the second option. Just another question though. By pre-rooted firmware, do you mean a Pre-Rooted ROM or the original stock rom? Seen them here --->

Am I on the right track?
If you want it rooted then use a pre-rooted rom or flash a stock rom then root again, your choice really...
i ugraded my XSA 4.3 official firmwate to BTU official firmware. everything is succesfull but now my phone is tuck on Android is upgrading screen. what should i do. please help

so is my device bricked? P5113

well the title says it all
but let me explain further
so ive been running cm10.1 on my galaxy tab 10.1 the P5113 model to be exact and ive been running the ICS bootloader and then on the cm10.2 thread i saw the JB bootloaders and decided to flash the P5110 bootloader......then everything hit the wall and pretty much broke D:
so then i wanted to try a few JB roms but upon rebooting to system on a lot of ROMs my tablet will just sit there at the device slash screen longer than usual then it will turn to a full screen of pink/green and a few other colored lines and just sits there ._. is it bricked? i hope not D:
what do i do? ive tried using ODIN to reflash stock to the JB firmware the same thing happens D: it seems that my device was fine on the ICS bootloader but ever since that update its been like this D: please help
have you tried kies? if not do this, BEFORE CONNECTING tablet TO PC start kies, go to upgrade and initialisation. enter your tablets model number and serial number. put tablet in download mode, NOW CONNECT tablet TO PC. this should force kies to upgrade your firmware
did that work?
A friend of me had same problem he solved it by going back to stock (rom & Kernel ) then he did a ota update and when the tablet said that update was ok he rebooted and he installed cwm and cleared cache and dalvic cashe and problem was solved
I actually got got running because it wouldnt boot even on an official stock firmware but for some reason it booted up after I went into the stock samsung recovery and wiped data factory reset so idk

Factory reset is always the best initial move after flashing and getting a bootloop. When people panick and start flashing other things it drains the battery and corrupts files making i even harder to boot when a factory reset usually is all that is needed to fix a bootloop after a flash

Hey guys. I tried to find similar topic but I couldn't.
I'm facing a problem with my Galaxy S4 i9500. Around a mouth ago I flushed kitkat with odin. After that I rooted it. The phone was working properly until couple of days ago. It start freezing and restarting. 2 days ago couldn't start at all. Stuck on SAMSUNG logo. I tried to flash kitkat again , but it failed. I was able to flash CWM recovery 6.0.3.3-i9500 and clean the cache, delvik cache and tried to restore the manufacturer settings. After rebooting, I see Samsung logo. phone restart and stuck on the Samsung logo again.
Hopefully someone can help me out.
Thank you.
Doesn't sound like a software problem. I think you have some hardware failure. I don't think it's your power button though, otherwise you wouldn't be able to stay in download mode for more then a few sec.
That doesn't sound good. What hardware problem might be? The phone has never been dropped and always been in a case.

Did you remove all knox related apps when you rooted?
I recommend..flash stock rom.
After that..flash philz and deknox script..
Then reroot via philz itself..(philz options reroot)

[Q] help wif stuck "turning on"

please help cant get a new phon for another year and this one I almost want to throw in the garbage. Every couple of weeks i get the error saying cant establish a reliable connection for the google play store. Normally I can clear the cache and what not and clear the acount relog in and its fixed. This time nothing I could do that people suggested would help and the last option I had was to restore the phoone. So i restored the phone on the stock firmware for 4.2.2. Got the phone booted up and now my wifi is "turning on" and is stuck there. I've tried a few suggestions of reflashing stock firmware again, clearing ram, rooting the phone. and so far nothing. If you have flashed the nb1 tar file and you still have problems I'm afraid it's a hardware problem.
